Don't worry about not being able to live fire as much as you like, just focus on the fundamentals - which you seem to have down really well. Besides some of the best shooters in the country were in the very same position as you and have climbed their way to the top - Phil Strader come to mind. I hear he's pretty good.

You'll get as many recommendations as you will holster manufacturers. I use ready tactical and don't see any reason to switch. Besides, unless you get some sort of oddball nylon rig with thumbstrap, whatever kydex holster you buy won't hold you back.

I have both the EGW multi-caliber gauge and the dillon - I tend to use the EGW more than the Dillon. They're both good, but it's more cost effective to buy the EGW, especially if you load in those other calibers.

AA2230 and TAC, haven't decided which I like better though.

good one to remember on my next long flight. try to sleep and someone grabs the top of my seat and not only the ones walking down the aisle but the ones seated behind me. another thing too is people putting their carry-ons in the bin above my seat and seated way in the back of the plane Yeah i've got to try this. I used to travel a lot and know what you're talking about, but not so much anymore. I also hate people that need to grab your chair in order to get out of their seat.

That's a cool idea for all-in-one practice stands... Get 5 of those and there's not much you couldn't practice for.... Yeah I build the same ones myself - with a cap on top of a 2x4 to hold steel. they hold up really well and the weight generally means you wont have to stake them even when it's windy.
