I had the same problem with my Glock 35 and 24. I replaced the pins three times but nothing worked. What I did was get some cheap drill bits, found one slightly oversize to the factory pin, cut it and install. Works great!

Thanks for all your input and comments regarding this problem. My gun was purchased several years ago with an aftermarket trigger and I previously used it as a varmint rifle. I changed the top end and now use it as a tactical match rifle. I tried to replicate the problem with no success. Going forward, in the future I will put the safety on immediately after finishing the COF, eject the chambered round and lock the bolt back, and THEN release the magazine. Maybe I should have done that all along, it was just my habit to drop the mag and then eject the round. Live and learn. Thanks again.

Last Sunday, as I finished a multi-gun match with my rifle (44 quick rounds), and was pressing the magazine release button on my AR, the gun went off. I did not have my finger on or near the trigger (the RO verified to me that I didn't). I took the gun apart at home and the entire action and trigger group was clean (44 rounds since last cleaning). There was just a little oil on the springs and hammer, but nothing excessive. I have about 2500 rounds through this rifle and have never had an issue like this before. My load was Winchester small rifle primers, 24.9 gr. H335 powder, Hornady 55 gr sp bullets seated to cannelure. My trigger is a single stage with about a 3.5 lb. pull. Any ideas what may have happened? Thanks.

Personally, I love the Steel Challenge for many of the same reasons those in this post have stated. I, also, understand those who dislike the repetitiveness of the Challenge. Different strokes, etc. However, I am the director of a pistol club here in Central California and we have been shooting the Challenge for at least 10 years. Currently, we run two different events/month: A Run and Gun, and a Steel Challenge event. The participation in our Run and Gun event has grown every year and is now more than double that of the Challenge, which has shown very limited growth. When I canvassed our Run and Gun shooters as to why more of them didn't also participate in the Challenge, they came up with the following answers: 1. The repetitiveness of the Challenge. 2. The length of time required to shoot the Challenge (even though we shortened it from 5 strings to 4), and offered to shoot six stages (the "regulars wanted all 8). 3. The ammunition expense (even though we offer each shooter an opportunity to shoot rimfire and/or centerfire). 4. Limited overall shooting funds, so they selected the event considered by them to be the most fun. After my informal canvass, and from my perspective, as a club director, I feel that changing stages or having surprise stages will not entice more shooters to the sport and will not have any effect on the overall winners at the big shoots. This event isn't broken, it just appeals to different kinds of shooters.

I ordered two first aid kits containing the chemical trade-named Quick Clot for our gun club from X_Pistols.com and received the kits with two packages of expired Quick Clot. When I called customer service, the lady told me that there was a disclaimer on the ad that said the Quick Clot had varying expiration dates. Therefore, there was nothing they would do for me. When I complained, she went to her supervisor and I got the same answer. In my opinion, to sell a potential life-saving product TWO YEARS PAST THE EXPIRATION DATE is unconscionable and a very poor business practice! Furthermore, I don't think it is unreasonable that I have an expectation of usability for any product I buy, on line or not. And, finally, I would not have made the purchase had the disclaimer said that the Quick Clot was past its expiration date. After receiving no satisfaction, I then sent a rather heated note to their web sight explaining my rage over their shabby business practices. I have not heard back from them yet. If I do, which I doubt, I'll post their response. Obviously I asked them to stop sending their advertisements to me on the internet as I will never buy anything from them again, and I certainly wouldn't recommend them to anyone. BTW, I already ordered replacement Quick Clot packages from Z-_edica. I think this is a product that is so important that no gun club should be without it in their first aid kits.

Several weeks ago, I asked members of this forum to suggest a worthy charity for our Club to participate in. Several readers suggested the Wounded Warrior Project. I brought this idea before my Advisory Committee and they (and I) thought it a wonderful idea. Forthwith, I contacted the WWP on line and filled out their questionnaire. Shortly afterward, they agreed that our Charity Shoot would be acceptable to them. In the same message they left me a name and an e-mail address for the contact person (Julianna). Over the past four weeks, I have left four e-mail messages, and two telephone messages for Julianna, and have yet to receive a reply. Friday, May 13, I contacted the WWP once again by phone and the operator left a message with Julianna's boss, who promised to get back to me THAT day. Again, I received no response from them. Have any of you worked with the WWP, and do you have some contact information that is not shown on their web sight? I would appreciate the information if you have it. Are they always this aloof??? All I want are some advertising materials, flyers, etc., so that our Club can get the word out. If the WWP administration continues to ignore my club, do any of you have ideas for another worthy veteran's group?

I want to thank everyone for their input. Right now, I am torn between Make a Wish and Wounded Warrior charities. Being a vet, I lean towards W.W.'s, but I will let my Advisory Committee do their job and pick one. Again, thank you all. Mick

I have it on my Dillon 650 with my Dillon 38 SC dies, and, frankly, it doesn't work with a darn. I still have to pull or adjust almost every .38 SC brass case so that it will go into my deprime die. I installed the kit per instructions and have called Unique-tek for help. They tried their best, but, it still is unreliable. I also called Dillon and followed their advice, but without success. Luckily, I got the kit as a prize, glad I didn't pay for it.

I have a G24 and the 14 lb recoil spring is the recommended spring weight for this pistol. As I understqnd it, Glock recoil spring weights are determined by slide weight, and most of the Glocks come standard with 14 lb recoil springs (I'm sure I'll be corrected on this by others, but, that is what I have read). In any case, it takes a bit of work to install the guide rod through the spring and then seat the guide rod on the correct indent on the barrel lug without the spring bunching all over the place. With practice, it is really easy to do this. If it is all "bunched up" it seems to me that you have assembled it incorrectly, OR, you have an oversized spring (highly unusual). Keep at it. You have the right weight spring, and it should work. M.

I am the director of a gun club and our members would like to hold a shoot to support a charity or to donate funds to a worthy group. The problem is that there are so many out there, we are having trouble picking one. The American Red Cross, The Salvation Army, USO, The NRA, Breast Cancer, M.A.D., The American Cancer Society, Boy Scouts of America, Girl Scouts of America, Habitat for Humanity, St. Jude, Toys for Tots, etc., are all very worthy organizations. I am looking for some input on these and others like them and, perhaps, other, maybe smaller, organizations that we have overlooked in our search. Your suggestions and recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

I bought an Armscor made .45 acp, for $450.00, I think it is an RIA, I don't remember. However, it seemed to shoot pretty well, so I lightened the trigger, installed an adjustable rear sight, a f.o. front sight, put in a full length guide rod, a lighter trigger and hammer, and, voila, it shoots 1 1/2" @ 25 yards all day long with Winchester white box 230 grain ball ammo. It also seem to shoot almost any of my reloads equally as well. Several days ago I was looking at picking up a brand new Colt 1911, .45acp., series 80 for around $750.00. I was allowed to test fire it and it shot 3 1/2" groups @25 yards and that was the best I could get out of it. It still needed an adjustable sight and trigger work. Go figure. It seems that many people that I relayed the story about my Armscor pistol to had similar experiences. Armscors are cheap and pretty darn accurate right out of the box. Good shooting!

YES! We are a small club in Mariposa, CA and we have seen a 30% - 40% increase in shooters. Surprisingly, a large percentage of the new shooters are juniors and ladies. At first, I thought it was because I appear to be such a great father figure and, smell good. However, my bubble burst when the juniors said it was their fathers bringing them, and not because of me, and the ladies stated most emphatically that it was their husbands and boyfriends who talked them into going with them and it wasn't because I smelled good. Okay, I'll get over it, but for whatever the reason, it's great to see such an increase.

I love Bullseye. We are the best of friends. I use it for my .45, and my .38 super comp. I also use it as an aftershave, a deodorant, a disinfectant, athlete's foot cure, and on my eggs.
