  1. Which handicap is that, knowing what you are doing or presbyopia?
  2. Why we can't shoot a dot fast. Or as I was told when I golfed, loft was my problem - lack of f talent
  3. I have a DAA large magnet and a Divtec cover on one belt. Worth looking into. I had a spare CR Speed Bracket, added one of these magnets to it and got a second Divtec cover on a second belt https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LZT130W/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://divtecshop.com/
  4. Ah, good times, good times....
  5. Not everyone. I wasn't, but that was more not being able to learn to use the dot as a dot, not a front sight. And let's face it, not everyone is cut out for using an optic, some of us just can't "get" it. After 4 years I still couldn't. I was marginally faster, but not much more. I couldn't get it after 16 plus years of production. Although I seemed to get it better when it was production optics and 10 rounds, once 140mm came in, that was the decline. Have gone back to production and my times are about the same as CO, but hits are better. This applies to me, not to be generalized to everybody, but my shooting partners have all commented that I was/am a better production shooter than a CO after they watched me struggle trying to make it work over that period.
  6. 20-01, 20-02 and 20-03 come to mind, all 12 round with no mandatory reload. 99-10, 99-56, 99-57, 03-12, 06-01, 06-02, 09-08, 09-10, 19-01, 19-03, 19-04 all are 12-16 requiring a low cap reload. A number of others have plus or minus 12 but there are mandatory reloads established.
  7. I installed mine in a 34.4, could not get it to run. Swapped out housing, tried multiple connectors, no matter what, would not go. Pulled out a second 34.4 I had, dropped it in and it worked no issues. Whether I was not getting the right angle on the connector, I don't know. Once I got the trigger working in that backup 34.4, I lost all interest in trying to solve it on the first one.

    G48 MOS in CO?

Run it for $h1t$ and giggles, see what happens.
  9. Getting a lot of them on FB. Sending friend requests, posing as shooters, wanting to "share" their good fortune with you.
  10. This is a question I wonder about, I won't say rigged, but the optic is supposed to be a difference maker. After almost 4 years of CO, now with my "heavier" plastic gun, I've returned to production and find I shoot that plastic better than the other plastic. Likewise why classifiers in PCC have any bearing on pistol classifications.
  11. This, used to run 5 pouches, now 4 with an 11 round in the pocket. Magnet in front that rarely gets used save for those occasional "unloaded gun, all mags on the barrel" starts. I even forget to put the empty on it at unload...
  12. 4.1-4.2 TG, 125 Zero JHP @ 1.130. 137 PF in G34.4
  13. SGT has a solid point. Not all plate systems or the plates they use are the same. I'm not a big fan of the C&H plates. They have a nice idea with their lugs, but the screws they use strip way too easily. I can see Glock doing some mods or even another 3rd party coming along. The plate system is really not that mature at this point across the industry. I've racked my slides with the red dot on MOS and C&H regularly since 2017 and have yet to have any issues. But that's just for competition, its not a life & death deal. Right now I don't know how much of it is marketing hype or reality. Give them all time, until then, it's one of those things where we like what we like and that's what we use.
  14. The optic of today won't be the optic of tomorrow. I have no issues with the MOS system. I have one milled Glock slide and wished that I hadn't done it. I was all in in the Vortex Venom, now, I have Holosun on all my Glocks, all MOS. The 17 with the milled venom sits in the safe. Not made of money and I like to try different optics. Buying slides, heck the cost is almost as much as buying the whole gun. Add milling...no thanks, but you do you. Better that the footprints get standardized among the optics makers, that's a better solution imo.
  15. Got mine yesterday, set it up and installed CR Speed pouches on it. Works fine, heavier than the regular belts which slightly surprised me. I want to experiment, jpeters notion of a tee nut in a link intrigues me as the CR Speed holder itself has to span two links. So I'll order another couple of links and give it a try once I figure out size and threading for the tee to accommodate the link and a smaller screw for use on the mag body itself. I think the belt is a better notion for shooters who use fewer mag pouches. I have these four and a magnet for production, ran with one less for CO. Will know for sure after this weekend's match.
  16. As a super senior, still able to play the pistol side well enough. I am seeing more Super's also shooting PCC. Like was said, not my cup of tea but I dabbled enough to get a classification. Like CO, PCC has quickly turned into a young person's game and there is more than enough participation to be it's own game. That being said, if it never does become its own, I'd like to see the classification system change to where PCC classification gets you nothing insofar as pistol classification is concerned. Some of the hate I've seen comes from PCC being a quicker trip for much higher than deserved pistol classifications. But it is still a way for all of us to continue to enjoy this game we love when time and age gets ornery with us.
  17. LMAO. facing Down range used to be the exact opposite of uprange, both logical, both well defined, then downrange was "opened up" to allow almost 180 degrees to look at, but uprange is still the same definition it has been. Walls are impenetrable but i can look through them and aim my gun through that impenetrable barrier. I started for you...
  18. We've seen multiple types of interpretations for scoring, not surprised about last month. I thought we had the in/out issue taken care of?
  19. The screws to hold the optic strip way too easily on the CH plates.

    Carver vs thug plug

Trimmed the Carver to fit and still use the full backstrap on the Gen4. Painted it, but repeated reloads have chipped away at it.
  21. No, I did not think it was helping me, if anything it was causing me more issues. I no longer banked on my confidence to make a shot, it was, "hell, I have extra". I was an avid practitioner of dumping when I shot production, learned that early on, didn't feel in my stage planning that I needed to shoot all that were in my magazine. Like twodownzero said, if moving I'm reloading.
  22. I'm heading back to production with that as one of the reasons, planning and walkthrough are different, rather than just copying what the others do. I last shot production on a regular basis back in 2016. From 2000 to 2016 it was exclusively production while the people I shot with were open and limited, some SS (now open, limited, CO and PCC). Did CO from 2017 until now, really liked when it was 10 rounds, then (IMNSHO) it went off the rails with 140. I found I was becoming a sloppier shooter as I was always counting on having all those extra rounds - some spray and pray developed and I found I was just not having fun with CO. Going back to irons is an adjustment with the eyes being less at 67 yo, but while I was not as sharp, I had more fun than I had had in years. YMMV.

    Carver vs thug plug

I use the carver for CO/Prod and trimmed the portion that sticks out, looks more like the typical plastic plug, was not willing to risk going to Open. I inserted, used a sharpie to mark what needed to go, then used a diamond cutting wheel on the Dremel to take it off (removed it from the gun, lol), painted it black. Trimmed it enough so that I can still put the medium backstrap on the Gen 4. I believe cut it was 1,8 ounces. thug plug is heavier.
  24. I started this thread and am chiming in to say I've gone full circle, pulled out nearly all the weight and went back to a modified Carver plug and a tungsten guide rod. Found the extra weight wasn't for me - and I admit I should have given it a season or two, but the results - for me - were not encouraging. But that's my ego getting in the way. Neither approach has worked well.
  25. Never saw production as the starter division. Always guided newbies to Limited minor since they showed up with few magazines and all high caps. CO & PCC are dominating, and those pools are really deep. BOD should reach out and solicit input on what to do regarding L:imited and Production. IDK, I'm shooting production this weekend after doing CO the last few seasons (and almost 20 years of Prod before that.) When the pool is so deep and broad that the best day you ever have still puts you at the bottom of the squad/pack, you have to rethink why you are shooting what you are shooting.
