  1. Yes, I have. For me it was night/day. Can cinch it more, still feels very comfortable. I had to play a bit with which link to remove to attach it, decided to start it closer to my holster as I wanted as little of the strap to appear towards the magazine side of the setup. Now I don't have to tighten it as much as I did before moving it closer. I did not notice any issues feeding the strap in as an earlier poster indicated but then I have skinny fingers and found it easy to work the release mechanism. Also set such that the buckle lines up at my midpoint, great point of reference when putting the belt on. Highly recommend regardless of which system you choose to use. Still might consider the GX product but I would have to actually see it/handle it. If the only difference is a metal buckle versus the thermoplastic one, not sure if that is worth the extra $30. YMMV.
  2. My thanks to you guys for the feedback both in and out of the post. I haven't noticed any issues with feeding the starp through once I saw how it worked. That bad boy ratchets down very tight and snug, far better than the original equipment.
  3. Got this, giving it a try. Fits well on my RHT holster. It is smaller than you might think which I like.
  4. Short of cutting coils off of a 10#
  5. That's a great question given how many Glocks are out there. JG did state that the Glock Performance Trigger is basically a Timney.
  6. Are you comparing to Timney or stock Glock?
  7. I appreciate the response! I'm satisfied with my current setup, but interested in trying the ratchet system without too much investment. We'll see what I ultimately decide.
  8. Thanks, might try the less expensive alternative first.
  9. When I can get a set of cloned eyes with 20/20 vision to replace these old ones, I'd be in. I miss production but when you get old and can't see well enough, well....
  10. Or sub-minor for "approved/certified "ammo
  11. Is there any kind of General opinion of which of these two is better, the GX ratchet or the one from the Pro Shop?
  12. Planning to work/shoot The Buckeye Blast in May this year, it's staff reset. I'll report back on my impressions.
  13. Love what FCD has, just nothing for my Holosun, but I respect their supporting American made items regardless.
  14. Yeah, what I get for coming late and picking up where I left off.
  15. Link? sorry, late to the party.

The jentra rod is thicker, like the carver custom tungsten, .270 vs .245 for the usual guide rods. Gen 5 is a 4.5 inch guide rod, the regular gen 1-4 are smaller. Because of that they take Wolff springs not ISMI. Go to wolff.com, order some 13, 14 and 15 pound springs to see what you and your gun like. I have traditionally run 13# springs but find that the gen 5, due to the longer barrel, seems to need a heavier spring, so I'm playing with 14 and 15#.

No, different size rod. I went with the jentra tungsten from ndzperformance.com
  18. I can see a number of the CO folks putting the magwells back on and drifting over to LO.

Interesting this has come up. After 20 years of 34's with the occasional use of a 17 at matches, I'm transitioning this coming season to the 17's. Gen 3 CO and a Gen 5 CO. Planning to keep the gen 5 nude with no talon grip to see how it feels vs the gen 3 with the talon. Both have Timney triggers, both running Holosun optics but one is green, the other red.
  20. If you're running a Timney triggeryou can leave the stock Striker spring in there and it's not going to cause any problems.
  21. I have worked 28 Majors so far and in every one of them I have been a part of the match standings and the match results. Won some guns as well.
  22. I may try one if given the chance.
  23. Rowdyb, stay involved with the sport. I've followed your remarks and commentary in various posts, and you have a great deal to offer. As mentor, commenter, analyst, you have a wealth of knowledge and experience where you could do video analysis of shooters, facetime/zoom discussions, and so much more. Truly, you are an amazing resource to the people here. At 69, now recovering from significant rotator cuff surgery (shoulder was a mess, on the verge of replacement according to the surgeon) I ponder my future in the sport after 22 years. Not at your level, but I am a damn good CRO and could move into doing more of that than shooting, but we'll see what recovery brings. Whether its in this venue or another, you have to much to offer to not be thinking the way you are. I applaud your for that.
