  1. Great thread, but where are you guys buying a 24" black one from? I've spoken with Stoeger on several occasions and they keep saying the first of that configuration will hit the US around 1 Dec.
  2. Just put a new upper together and went with an AP Custom carbon fiber handguard to save weight, and it's very nice. Anyways, I've been using a lot of Gun Scrubber to clean guns recently and wondered if anyone knows if it's safe to use near carbon fiber? I tried calling AP today but their # didn't work, and an e-mail got bounced back to me.
  3. No, my FTF's were not like that at all. Every FTF I've had with this gun (approx 7k rounds through it now) have been where the round dips down in the mag and impacts too low on the feed ramp. Small world indeed! I live in the Ranch Club, unfortunately the CRE range was closed down many years ago so I have to shoot at Sanner's Lake in St. Mary;s Cnty.
  4. I get failures to feed when my recoil spring and/or mag springs start to get weak. My M&P seems very fussy about spring strength.
  5. I had a tough time getting the magwell on because it was a tight fit, but no, I did not do any tuning. All I've used are Taran basepads.
  6. I have been shooting a 5" Pro in Limited this year with a SSS aluminum (ESP) magwell and I love it. I have always preferred a lighter gun though, so the aluminum was a nature choice for me.
  7. Awesome info, I appreciate you keeping us updated. I intend on buying the black 24" model for 3-Gun when they're available. So I'm guessing you're saying the new metric thread pattern on the M3000's is not a match for any other extension tube thread pattern offered by Nordic, correct?
  8. I tried him. Going back and forth on e-mail now. I want as many manufcaturer options as possible to make a good decision.
  9. If anyone else has advice for kydex holsters for Caspian hi-cap I'd appreciate it.
  10. Sanner's is hosting the Maryland state match the weekend of Veteran's Day weekend.
  11. ismi is the guy for all things longer bought 50 extended m&ps when i went to arrendo's aredondo said the stand spring worked. no it didnt ismi ran 50 for me (min order) never had 1 mal/f with a/d and ismi combo flawless in over 3 yrs. leave em loaded for months on web gear when working load 22 instead of 23 to be safe we carry +p+ speer 124. hope this helps jjw Very helpful, thanks.
  12. I'm running a 5" M&P Pro 40 in Limited with Taran Tactican basepads. Some of my TT basepads came with 11 coil magazine springs that hook into the bottom of the follower, and my other TT basepads came with 10 coil springs that do not hook on to the follower. I want to replace my 10 coil springs with the 11 coil springs. Can anyone identify the manufacturer of the 11 coil mag spring?
  13. Thanks Jesse, that's kinda how it is for me too. I was watching something by Larry Vickers and he was saying to pull the rifle back, so it got me thinking.
  14. When shooting rifle & shotgun, do you pull the gun back towards the shoulder via your support hand on the forearm? Or instead do you use the support hand only to drive the gun as you transition to the next target?
  15. Raising a thread from the past... Great ideas here. I'm struggling with a cluttered safe and am exploring options. Already have all ammo and mags in separate JobSite boxes, which I really love. Any more testimonies on the UniqueTek rifle rods?
  16. Then don't be first in line to buy it... The last version was junk. Yup, it's a Costa Ludus. Lotsa problems with them before, but they haven't been selling them for awhile due to a redesign, so I'm hoping these work. I ordered one, and plan to order a Speed Shooters Specialities one as well (when available) to compare.
  17. Available for pre-order: http://21cg.us/shop/index.php/
  18. I am probably gonna have the loading port opened up but that will be the extent of my mods (with the extension of course). Not sure if this is the same on all the 3000's, but I can ghost load mine. I have not had it modded for that feature. Thanks Scoop. I've done massive research and I'm 99% sure I'm going with a 24" M3000 once they are back in stock everywhere, looking forward to messing around with it.
  19. Wow, very intriguing thread. I'm looking for an entry level 3-gun shotgun and am considering a Stoeger 3000. Other than the extension tube, what needs to be done? Welded lifter?
  20. Resurrecting an old thread...does anyone know of an extended mag release in works? If not I'm going the screw route. Thanks.
  21. Bill, or anybody else who owns one, I'm curious what you've seen from it as far as accuracy goes. Seems like a great design that keeps us lefties in mind, but when American Rifleman tested it, the accuracy results weren't impressive. Might have been due to the heavy trigger? jk: I come from a rifle background, so accuracy is important to me too. The only optics I've had on it so far is an Aimpoint T1, and I've been shooting IMI 62 gr ball ammo, so I'm not really set up for groups yet, but last weekend I put three shots in a row in the x-ring at 100, so I feel like it's accurate but that trigger makes seeing the accuracy very difficult. The people on bullpupforum.com are saying it likes Sierra 77's and a few have claimed 1" 100 yard groups. I love 77's too, ha! I'm not in the market for a new rifle, but if it's grouping like that with 77's (that's what I'm running in my AR) and the trigger pull could be fixed, then I'd definitely put that on the fantasy Christmas list along with a 1x-? variable. Which brings up another question-- does it have enough rail space on the front to put a good optic on it that wouldn't look completely dorky? There's a spare trigger reset spring which some people are simply disconnecting which drops the trigger pull to 7-8 lbs. Apparently the Israelis added the extra spring due to trigger reset issues in very dusty ops. Also a few people have had trigger jobs done, so hope is there. The trigger pack is a modular package and there's a few people hitting up Geissele, Timney, etc to see if they'll make a "match" trigger pack. Lotsa pics on bullpupforum with variable low power optics, and there's a Canadian guy on YouTube who runs low power scopes a lot, here's one of his vids: Plenty of space for a scope and I don't think it looks stupid, but I went with a T1 due to weight.

  23. I have 12, all new in box, on Gunbroker, but they're up to $72 with 2 days left, so I can understand the reluctance.
