  1. Most matches have ammo restrictions due to the spinners falling apart. I shot the spinner we built for our range with a 10ga(Super Goose), 3.5" #4 shot at 10 yards, not a problem
  2. I've used mine in 3 matches (and a lot in practice) it is my starting mag on any stage that has more than 20 rifle rounds/targets. Just like my big shotgun mags - ALWAYS have plenty of ammo to spare to finish the stage. As one of my squad mates said after watching me shoot a long stage, " I never thought I'd say this , but , you CAN miss fast enough to win!" If he missed more than once he had to do a reload - I had 6 extra rounds to play with.
  3. About 4 years ago I shot a few stages at a match with one - well not exactly a "Binary" just my worn out one. Took me about 3 shots to figure out what was going on, finished that stage and the final one of the day, went home and changed before the final day. Close targets were OK, long range was not good. Too much thinking.
  4. If your asking about the 3 gun match - near Versailles
  5. Welcome, If you want to try 3 gun, we're in mid MO, match the 3rd Sat of every month.
  6. OH, I forgot why I came to post here in the first place. Did some practice to night , 6"x6" steel at 15 yds, I got 1 at .79 , I anticipated the beep and jumped a bit. Did quite a few in the 1.5 sec range I'd say the avg consistent times were 1.6 Some of the bad ones were in the 1.9 - 2 sec This was with my new 2011, just switched from a G17, this was the 4th or 5th time out with it. This thing is amazing
  7. Scott, You have to be careful with reacting to the beep. It's too easy jump the start. Since you told me about that I find myself getting to hyped up after I hear the RO and moving before the beep. I just keep hearing your voice in my head " You have to anticipate the beep after the RO speaks." Guess that's something that comes with lots of practice. Bob, I belive what I actually told you was, when at a match whether it is a squad RO that moves along with the squad, or a fixed RO that stays with the stage, I always start listening to the RO's cadence when I am in the hole and on deck. I pay attention to how long they usually wait between the standby and the beep. That way I have a better chance of being able to anticipate when he/she will beep. On the other side of the beeping spectrum....I also pay attention to if the RO is an extremely fast beepe r. SCSA rules state that the beep be 1-3 seconds after the stand-by command. You will frequently come across ROs with no pause after the SB command to the beep. If they do it to me I don't move after the beep then remind them that there needs to be a minimum 1 second. If someone short-beeps you and you don't move towards the gun they have to start you over and you cannot be penalized. If they beep you and you even flinch or start towards the gun, you bought the run. As long as you don't have access to the trigger, it's not a "draw". Per Rulebook: "Draw ................................The point at which a handgun is removed or disengaged from the holster so as to allow access to any portion of the interior of the trigger guard." INTERESTING, Back in our motorsport racing days we studied the flagman, many times you could MAKE him drop the green flag when you wanted . The GOOD flagmen, would screw you over for trying(I did many as well ) I haven't tried much with the shooting "flagmen" , gonna have to do some experimenting . So as long as the TG doesn't clear the holster I'm good?
  8. I have used Impact Sports for ~5-7?? years, first pair finally quit a few months ago. Never had any comfort problems, but I usually remove them when resetting and between stages. I have a set of Ghost Stryke in the ear - they are hard to beat for sound reduction, they do pickup more wind noise than the Impact's, and being in the ear electronic makes my voice sound odd to me. While I have not tried the Sordins they seem rated very low on the NR scale.
  9. I have not tried a metal grip, I use a reduced plastic, covered with Silicone Carbide for traction. Better grip than stippled
  10. MBX is all we sell , and recommend, have not had a single one that hasn't ran 100% in any guns we' built. Sold quite a few out the door, haven't heard any complaints so far.
  11. I think I will go the PINNED route on mine. Now, It is adjusted so just a fraction of movement deactivates it. But I have very wide hands and the magwell flare can easily push my hand high enough that the web of my hand pushes up hard enough on the beaver tail to occasionally activate it. Usually on first shot from draw.
  12. We have discussed doing the same at our match, Rocky Mtn has done it for a number of years. I haven't heard many cons about this system
  13. Harescrambles were soon much fun!! I rode several on my Trials bike - in July/Aug , one of the few times I thought - I could REALLY die here!
  14. interesting how many shooters (3 gunners) that I know come from a motorsport racing background. Sounds like there are quite a few in the pistol side as well. We did motorcross, TT, harescrambles - decided to do something SAFER.
  15. We do have 6x6 and 6x7 with AR500 target face (still NOT for rifle) but for any clubs/ranges the require all steel to be AR500. We have also upgraded the rod/stake to 5/8" , since many were wanting to shoot them under 10 yds with SG. The 1/2" held up just fine at 12+ yards, but SG under 10yds packs a hard wallop
  16. Where do you get your hinges from? I have a bunch of 6x6 plates cut and was going to do the normal knock off target but I like the hinge idea much more. We build 100% of the parts.

  18. One of the reasons we supply, and recommend, MBX mags on all our 2011 builds.
  19. Didn't turn out too bad, small monthly match, 49 shooters 2nd in Open 3rd overall A few minor blunders, simply because of the different platform than I've shot for the past 5 years. overall I can see a great possible benefit , just need to utilize it.
  20. Testing my new 2011 today, off the mill at 5 pm, bead blasted, assembled, sighted in. This video was around 6:30 pm. 8x8 plates from 12-18 yds, 2 poppers ~20 yds, 6x7 Easy Reset Tombstone targets from 15-22 yds Shooting a match tomorrow with it, Still needs the final slide cuts and blending a few edges, then off for a Black Nitride finish.
