  1. You can engage a target without hitting it....So, even if you miss, you have still engaged the target and fulfilled the WSB. It says nothing about "Hitting" PP2, only engaging it. Shoot it from box B, if you miss on the way... Wow, I never considered that, I don't think that follows the spirit of the WSB. Playing it your way, why even aim at PP2, just take a quick shot to engage as your moving and hit it from box B. You would certainly be faster.
  2. I read it as saying you have to be totally out(both feet) of both boxes to engage PP2. If you miss and enter box B you would have to leave box B and be totally out of box B to reengage it.
  3. The rule is a bit absurd, but it is what it is. Practice putting everything in your back pocket and be done with it.(or sew the front ones shut)
  4. I keep doing that when I shoot strong hand only and the safety flips up on me. It take me a few seconds to realize and correct it. All my friends ask why did I hesitate and laugh when I tell them.
  5. On the bright side, you will never handle you gun again before the RO says make ready. Glad you took it well. The other night a new shooter drew his firearm when the bay was called hot, but the individual stage RO didnt say make ready.(bay had 3 stages that are called hot and clear by one main RO & individual stages are then run by their own RO)
  6. bring extra ammo, if time is available you might be able to shoot it twice
  7. I can't wait for it to come out and see it with my boys.
  8. Its not about the A, its about being punished for doing nothing wrong. Imagine shooting a stage where you find a way to game it that nobody else does and the match director throws it out because he doesnt like your performance. In fact my son doesnt want to fight about it, however we feel its a life lesson we are really fighting about. We feel he was in the right, and deserves his grade. The teacher was lazy and wants to punish my son for getting a score he doesnt like. My sister told me her daughter in the other class saw him run in and tell the other teacher that somebody (my son) was cheating, since he got a perfect score.
  9. He got a B in both of the earier test. The question becomes why does he need to take a different test if he did no wrong. As for being an adult, if you make a mistake, take responsiblity for it and accept the results. You cant change the rules after the fact. Can you buy a car(or a gun) and tomorrow say I dont like how it performs, I want a different one?
  10. It's a bit of a story, so I'l try to keep it short. AP US history final was given over 3 days. (not the official AP exam) Each day a different past AP test was given. Students were allowed to keep highest grade for their final exam grade. Students didn't know what year would be used. They were told either just after or before taking the test. Years used 2006, 2001, & 1996 in that order. The night before 1996 given, my son finds online at the official AP site a copy of the 1996 test posted. He practices on it and checks his wrong answers. Following day teacher hands out the 1996 exam, which he get a perfect score on. Teacher promptly takes him out of the room asking if he had the test/answer sheet on his phone. He tells him he saw the test prior on AP site. Next day he voids my sons test score. I meet with teacher and Assistant Principal, who offers to let my son retake a different test or to void the entire test for the whole school. I accept voiding entire test because, that way everybody is treated equally. However on returning home I feel either solution offered is unfair and contact them to rescind their offer. At the meeting both the teacher and principal agree that my son didn't cheat or do anything wrong. Their reasoning for voiding the exam was 1 my son had an unfair advantage over the other students, because he had seen the test 2 having seen the test, the test does not reflect an accurate measure of his knowledge The teachers choice to void test based on results, not policy. If we all agree he did nothing wrong, why is anything changed. I've now contacted the Board of Ed and Superintendent to complain of unfair treatment. I'll post any follow up if anybody is interested in the outcome.
  11. MG 200, 4.5 gr n320, 1.160 and I was getting around 170 pf from 5" sti
  12. I tell new shooter to hit the top plate then pick a side. Think of a clock face, aim at 2, if you miss or hit aim a bit lower 2:30-3 and wait for next target. After every shot you slowly go down the clock face. Never chase the plates, they will come to a stop and then reverse directions. Its when they stop that is the easiest time to hit them. You know where they are going, and that they will return. Just take your time and wait for that quarter sec when they are stopped. However the evil stars... Just blast away and hope u get something
  13. So this is clearly my fault. I had changed the block from sti to sig the night earlier and had forgotten to reset the holster(left it in the gun inserted, screw down position). At the range I holsted my gun, pushed the lock down and turned. Needless to say my gun fell out, I was just lucky I was with my friends and hadnt damaged my gun with the drop. So a reminder to all after you change the block remember to set screw in up position.
  14. If someone had reminded me of this when I set my first press up, they could have saved me a half dozen squibs. I know it's in the manual, but who reads the manual as carefully as they should the first time through? Ah tighten the wing nut.
  15. Double plug with electronic muffs turned up max, I can still hear the crunching sound people make walking around, and it cuts out the very loud open shooters great. When it gets to hot and sweaty I just take the electronic ones off and still have protection.
  16. 6 (4 in bladetech quad) on belt, 1 in gun, 1 barney

  18. Phoenix rod and gun has uspsa on first saturday of the month and steel match every thursday, Ben averys has cactus match(steel &paper simular to uspsa) every thursday and uspsa match first sunday of the month. A fun match with less rules and easier to start is steel challenge, rimfire(22) is allowed. Held twice a month at ben averys by cactus match and deer tribe gun club. Scottsdale gun club has a.match third wednesday of the month. I shoot regularly at rio and ben averys, everybody is friendly and helpful to new participants. Tell your sister to come out and watch and to ask questions. Just bring eye and ear protection.
  19. Just saw last show for the season. Its enjoyable. They trimmed the cast down a bit.
  20. Google flash mob, funny stuff being done around nation
  21. I think any slr will produce better pics than the point & shoots. Its the lense that makes the difference. After you get the slr do you plan to buy more lenses, they can cost more than the camera body. If you plan on buying factory lenses you should compare prices before picking which body. Your lense legacy will keep you with one brand when you upgrade the body. There is one thing that I hate about my slr.... It shows how ulgy you really are, every pit, mark, pimple, etc shows up.
