  1. What slugs do you reccomend for 3 gun slug stages. Sorry if this has already been beaten to death on these pages.t Thanks, Rob Traynham
  2. Thanks for the advice , and link. I've been leaning toward the LM for mmy first purchase. This may be a stupid question being I'm new to shotgun shooting, but are chokes universal for shotguns, or do I need to purchase a certain style for the SLP MK 1?
  3. Just got an SLP MK 1, and now want to try 3 gun, what chokes should I start collecting to use and have with me at matches, and why? Thanks in advance.
  4. I bought the Comp AEK for my 40L, shot it , and loved it. I then decided to order the RAM to see what all the fuss was about. I'm very happy I did. The Apex mods I did helped me earn first in my division this past weekend. So IMHO get then both, you won't regret the extra couple bucks spent.
  5. I shot my first match on 09/04/11, immediately following I went home jumped online and joined the USPSA. The following weekend 09/11/11 I shot again and listed my number as pending because I hadn't received my packet yet. I've been told that it should count towards my classification, but it has yet to be posted to my profile, on the website. How long does it take for these scores to be retrieved and posted?
  6. Just ordered the apex AEK competition trigger today for my 40L can't wait, Been shooting limited 10 major with no upgrades hoping the 40L might make the production list soon.
  7. New to the sport, and hooked. I'm starting to look in to reloading. But for the time being I'm having to purchase my ammo. I'm shooting L10 with my 40L, and have been using Winchester WB 165g FMJ, I can get Remington 180g JHP for a buck less a hundred. I see guys at my local events shooting HP's, which one would I be better off with, and is there a big difference in the rounds when it comes to target shooting? Thanks, Rob T
  8. I will be shooting L10 major tomorrow, to check it out. Thanks for the advice everyone.
  9. Being new to the sport, and shooting the equipment that I have, I want to compete in the division that gives me the the best chance to be competitive in. So that being said, and my pistol model not yet on the list of approved production guns, what division would I be best off in?
  10. The MD specifically said that I needed to shoot 9mm, if I wanted to continue to compete in production.
  11. Today I shot my first USPSA match. I registered for the production division and shot my M&P 40L. I loaded only 10 rounds in my magazines like the rules stated. At the end of the match I was asked by the match director if I enjoyed my day, which of course I did. Then the conversation turned to what type of pistol I was shooting and I told him. He then stated that I could not shoot the 40S&W in production, only 9mm and 38's. Looking at the rules I see the 38 and 9 listed, but I don't see where it says a stock 40 isn't. Any assistance would be much appreciated. Thanks.
  12. So I went out a shot today, and I'm hooked. I wasn't given the option to join USPA at the match so I did it when I got home. I take it that todays match won't count towards a classification because I wasn't aready a member before I shot but I loved every minnute of it? I was gonna shoot IDPA next weekend, but I think I'm gonna drive a little further and shoot USPSA again. Thanks to everyone who responded, and as soon as I get the results from todays match I will post them.
  13. Thanks for the info. I emailed my local club, and already received a reply encouraging me to just come out and shoot and enjoy myself. I appreciate the responses. They also had a link to an introduction to competitive shooting put on across the bridge. Did anyone else do something like this in the beginning, and did it help you out if you did.
