  1. Equally strange was the announcement that they are selling MV Agusta less than a year after buying them.
  2. SteveZ

    New IPHONE

My wife wanted an iPhone........so I got one too!
  3. download them....change the file extension from .pdf to .jpg ..... double click and there ya go!
  4. I thought it was mentioned in one of the BOD meeting minutes that the USPSA signed a 5 year deal with Desert Sportsmans for the Nationals?
  5. Ok..here's my 2c observation as a first time Nationals attendee. We were "greeted" at the gate with a nice stern lecture about creating dust on the drive way and a warning to keep our speed below 10mph or we'd be DQ'ed (for what?)....only to see all weekend the range golf carts going well over 10mph and creating a dust storm behind them. Stage and names held to protect the guilty but some of the range officers were a bit over zealous in the running of their stages. On one of the stages, one of my shooting buddies was pushed out of the way from behind while he was standing in front of a target waiting to tape it. On another a rather SENIOR RO made a very wrong call regarding the start position and then coped an attitude saying "its that way because I'm the CHIEF". You can't make up start positions that the rulebook doesn't support. Regarding the stages themselves. It felt a lot like an Area match with extra stages thrown in and a billion no-shoots. I was expecting more props (unless no-shoots used as vision barriers are considered props)....and didn't see it. The prize table was no better than an Area match. I would have prefered more "run-n-gun" stages. I've always wanted to say that I've shot the Nationals....now I can, but if this match is typical of other Nationals...I think I'll pass next year.
  6. Ok...heres a question for you...Stage 11 Silver Eagle.....how many rounds are fired through the center "view"? It doesn't appear (from the diagram) that the two outer targets in the center target array are visible from the outer edges of the shooting area. The "wings" on the center walls appear to accomplish that. If the answer is 10...how did this COF get approved?
  7. I bought 3 from Brownells around the first week of August. All three broke in the same place yours did. I called up Marc at ISMI to see if he wanted them back. Marc sent me out replacement springs immediately....and those have been flawless.
  8. But you will be shooting with a few other fellow BE'ers.
  9. Watch your mail. I got mine today!
  10. If you say it enough times....it will become truth!
  11. Another interesting video from the same match: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Bz_ODFRw8M I was several bays away from this when it happened but heard it clearly and said to one of the other RO's ..... "sounds like we're at Rio Salado!"
  12. I was one of the RO's on the Jungle Run stage. We saw a some branches shot off the trees...but very few actually. Competitors seemed to either find a sweet spot (where you could engage 5 targets from a single position) or split the targets into smaller groups and engage them on the move using the available view.
  13. Matt's bringing lunch for us? COOL! I don't know what the lunch situation is...but I think water will be on each of the stages. Floyd said he didn't want a repeat of Area 1 2008. I'd rather run in the shade than stand in the sun. I feel sorry for the RO's working the "sandbox" stages....running all day long. At least the ground in the "jungle" is hard. T minus 11 hours....and counting.
  14. Its on....you're in Squad 6 along with Yong Lee. Its going to be HOT this weekend!
  15. After MasterBlasters went out of business...I switched back to Bear Creek bullets. They're every bit as good as MasterBlasters and cheaper to right now. Just last week I ordered 3000 and had them delivered to my door (well technically the front door of my garage, the mail person must have got tired after carrying the first box) in a week.
  16. A word of warning to all of you....hopefully the repeated comical use of the word "beach" or "sand" hasn't been lost on you. See, the Custer range is located pretty close to the water (Strait of Juan de Fuca to be exact...which leads out to the open ocean). About a million years ago (sorry, I wasn't around back then to confirm this)....Custer WAS ocean beach (perhaps even under water). What do you find at the beach....why sand of course. So yes....many of the bays at Custer have sand around them....ok, I'll even go so far as to say IN THEM. So be prepared to get a workout. Me? I'm lucky! I working the Jungle Run stage with RickB...where its nice and cool and the ground is pretty hard. The only thing we'll be fighting off is the mosquites (and hopefully that hornets next from last month isn't back again). I will say this....a pack of crazed hornets with YOUR name on their stingers will make you run REAL fast!
  17. Something to consider...a point made by one on my shooting buddies (Hi Matt!). The Nationals are coming soon and for those of us in the NW Section who are going to the Nationals; the Custer matches are on par with just about any level III match I've attended. The Northwest Challenge will make for a great Nationals Tune-Up. Shoot the NWC in August and the monthly Custer match in September and if you can survive that...you'll do just fine at the Nationals.
  18. Haha. Just got a response from surefire and they said should be fixed by end of week . Thats good to know. I just got one of the new Iphone 3GS and downloaded the app...and noticed the same thing. I thought I was just doing something wrong. Looking forward to the update.
  19. Nice job Aristotle....as I was processing the match results...I kept seeing your name on top and was thinking to myself....I think Aristotle may have taken 1st overall....sure enough!
  20. I'm not sure how useful this information will be but I recently found myself in the same situation...I bought some small pistol magnum primers because thats all I could get my hands on. I'm shooting 40S&W...my load is a 180gr MasterBlaster bullet over 4.4gr of TG loaded to 1.18". I did two experiments. First was to change nothing but the primer (WSP to WSPM) and compare velocity. The magnum primer was about 14fps faster. Second, I dropped my powder charge by .1gr and my velocity dropped by about 15fps.
  21. leaving in 30 minutes....flying non-rev. Who know WHEN I'll get there!
  22. Seen it before? Yes....yes, why yes I have! http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?...st&p=541048 how to fix it? I took some JB weld and packed it into the "crack" and its been perfect ever since. All the great ones have a crack like that in their frame!
  23. I want to personally thank the match organizers for ordering weather that someone from the PNW would recognize..... (spoken as someone who is set to work 3 days straight.....I hope they had the foresight to put up some form of "cover" at all of the stages)
  24. From the Match Book..... NO WHINING! If you nonetheless feel compelled, you can go to the Match Director, pay a nonrefundable fee of $100US (cash only, please), and thereby secure the right to whine to him for a full, uninterrupted five minutes. I don't care who you are...thats some funny stuff!
