  1. Every where I looked for a Vortex 1-6 HD had about the same price $1399.99, a few places were higher. I found one by accident on ebay for a little less that was returned by customer. They are in stock at several places, both Brownells and Nordic Components have them in stock and are forum vendors.
  2. In the Ruger Rimfire series mags are limited to 10rds. You can load up 10 + 1 before the start signal. You can use mags larger than 10rds just do not load more than 10rds.
  3. Yep. I'm going to run a 135 SMK @ 2800 fps, should hit the drops just about perfect. Get a good ballistics calculator & match your load to the drops. If you need more help let me know, I crunched some numbers to get my load data. Got 135 SMK test loads waiting for the weather to clear out and now my new Vortex 1-6 to show up.
  4. Anyone running one of these on a 308 AR? How do the drop downs work with the heavy rifle?
  5. Call the hotel you had reservations at and tell them why they lost your business. I realize it's not their fault but let them know who caused their pain. Pat We did let them know why the reservations were cancelled. Barry
  6. Mark thanks for your efforts to put on the Ruger Rimfire World Shoot. We had are hotel reservations all made for the match and were looking forward to it. Barry
  7. Ruger has already pulled the 2013 Ruger Rimfire World Match out of Colorado.
  8. Puppy will take alittle time to get use to new surroundings. He may check out the groundhog den but will have to get some size and confidence before going to ground.
  9. My second one just turned 3. Keep them busy and they need alot of attention. They are smart and learn fast but don't let them boss you around. I use my dog on the trapline and he can't get enough of it.
  10. Give the mail a couple of weeks to do its thing for your entry to get there. Then send a pm to match director Ken Flood, click on his name in post 91 above.
  11. I'm also running my series 1 Bridgeport, 1 hp on a VFD. I got one good for up to 3 hp motor and didn't cost much more than a unit rated for 1 hp. Had to call the manufactures tech line for help to hook up. Tech got me going and unit was easy to hookup. My VFD is using 220V single phase to 220V 3ph. Added some plugs between machine and VFD so I can switch to lathe. Takes less than a minute to switch between machines. Can't run both at same time but can run both off the same VFD. Been running for just over a year and am very happy.
  12. Looks like they do the easy price adjustment, move decimal point to the right 1 place.
  13. Get a hold Doug at DC Ammo in the Dealer section of the forum and see what he has.
  14. Looking to make travel arrangements, will we be shooting all 3 days?
  15. Contact the OK match director to get the information on their match. May go to it this year, still working on plans. State matches are usually shot in one day. Two days usually allows you to shot one or the other. You could have somebody else pickup your prize if you cannot stay. On multi day state matches that I have been to you draw a number and it is asigned a prize. You draw your number sometime during the day you shoot. The World shoot prize table is order of finish. Iowa match junior shooter deal is a Iowa law thing. You will find all skill levels at these matches.
  16. The 9mm is a whole different animal than a 45acp Para. I own and use both, the 9mm was work to get running. My P14 I had for 20 years and would take anywhere. The P14 needed the barrel throated when I got it new, wouldn't feed wadcutters. I've upgraded internals and it just runs and runs.
  17. If you have a round bolt it is a Ciener style bolt. Get a hold of Tim at Taccom in the dealer section of this forum and he should be able to get you going. Tim makes several products for the Ciener style bolts.
  18. Do you have a DPMS 22lr upper that has a square/rectangle bolt like the Nordic upper? If so, you have a upper that Nordic produces for DPMS and they both use a Ruger 10/22 extractor. Look at a Ruger 10/22 and it will be easy to see if the extractors are the same.
  19. For breathing or trajectory? Mark Co, has been suggesting a low dose asprin in the morning and lots of water. I've been doing that when I get to Raton. I can't say if it helps or not. For breathing mostly, went to Albuquerque NM a couple of years ago and had mild headache the first day. Will be arriving the day before to relax and hang out at the range. Going to run data on trajectory and plan to do some zero checks the day before at Whittington.
  20. Just made hotel reservations and checked elevation, found out 6800ft. Coming from the flat lands, any recommendations on adjusting to the the elevation?
  21. This my first year coming to this match and the range. Do we need carts for equipment or can you drive to the stages without 4 wheel drive?
  22. Just sent a Sierra bullet certificate that I won last summer at Big Dawg Steel Match. Sierra called and said they will give me 2012 bullets prices and they could put another box of bullets on my order if I liked. I replied yes and thank you very much! Sierra Bullet Company is great, they didn't have to do that. THANK YOU SIERRA, Barry
  23. Contact Doug Carden at DC Ammo in the dealer section of the forum.
