  1. EGW makes a bushing that fits their 1911 extractor to the Para power extractor hole. This will remove the power extractor hassle from your life. Made my own bushing for my P18 and used a Caspian extractor. Gun has not had a issue in 2000+ rounds since. P16-40, Internals are mostly standard 1911 except for trigger and magazine release. Those two have after markets parts avaible. If you can find a used one with all the work done and magazines you can have a great gun for the money. Barry
  2. Check out the Bushnell Elite series 4200 1.25x4 30mm 4A Ill dot or the Elite 6500 series 1.25x8 30mm tube 32mm opjective. I have the 4200 and really like it, titanium tube and compact. Can be found on internet for under $325 delivered. I have not seen the 6500, but higher magnification might be useful in longer range western matches.
  3. Stick with Para magazines, got some P14 with +1 base pads on from CDNN this spring. After letting a friend use them all summer they now hold 16 and are reloadable.
  4. Dremel the dimples out of the end of the tube. The Choate tube will come as a kit with all parts needed, extension, spring, follower and barrel clamp. Be careful when threading on tube as to keep it straight and not cross thread.
  5. I don't have that setup but use the Blade Tech ar mag pouches that go on my belt. The pouches in your picture are the same just mounted different. The pouches will hold magazines great, the screws on side will adjust the retention grip. The belt mounted pouches I use have tread lock which allows them to be removed from your belt without removing belt. They work with Pmags or metal mags. If you get the Nordic Pmag extension you end up with a 48 round magazine. Don't need to carry very many spares with one of those. Brownells is great to deal with, if you are not happy they will take it back. Have fun with your new gear, Barry
  6. Going thru withdraw! Great match that went by to fast. Will come for sure to do it again. Waiting to run thru the woods again, Barry
  7. Stages look great, I'm really looking forward to this weekend. Leaving early Thursday morning and hoping to see RO's shoot. Going to be hard to get much sleep this evening!
  8. Ran a couple of magazines thru my gun when it showed up in the house, propane better outside. It does work good, keep a bottle in my airsoft gun bag.
  9. You can go to gunbroker.com site and they have a list of dealers willing top do transfers. See if there is one in your area. Dealers have the choice on which transfers they want to do and not do. Barry
  10. You going to bring that that new shooter to the September match? I'm waiting for the 8 shot 45. See you at the match. Barry
  11. Remove choke tube put the barrel in your gun safe behind the hinges. Close safe and barrel gets behind hinge arms. Slowly open safe door with barrel wedged between safe wall and hinge arms. Use large taper pin to straighten muzzle of barrel. Install choke tube with lub. Don't get in a hurry, will take about 5 mintues to install choke tube and you will need a nap when done. Will not shoot loose!
  12. I have the WE caspian 1911 and like it. Great feel, accurate and fits in my 007 competition holster. Recoil is enough to break sight picture and get me to follow thru for doubles. Going to use to help cut draw times for Big Dawg Steel Match. Built some mini steel racks and stop plates. Going to do some man on man airsoft with friends.
  13. I run HS-6 in my 9mm open steel gun with 6.5 grains and a 125 lrn at about 1160, the gun runs great, very accurate. The can has this load information on the label for 9mm, 6.8gr, 124gr Sie. FMJ, Win case, CCI500, COL 1.090, VEL 1169, maximum loads-reduce 10% to start. Go to Hodgon's web site and they will have more data. The powder meters very constant thru Dillon 550. My open gun is a Para-ordinance 9mm built by Jim Anglin, this load keeps the comp clean.
  14. Look at Blackhawk holsters, the none sherpa style. They come with both belt loop and slip on paddle belt attachments. You can also get a set of spacers and they will set the holster out from your body. The angle of the holster is adjustable. The paddle attachment works great with competition belts.
  15. I have the PXT in a couple 45's with no issues yet but the guns are not used alot. My P18/9mm is a whole another strory. Broke several with one being my fault and one with only the bottom 1/3 left and it made it thru a 500 round steel match. Made a sleeve and used a Caspian traditional 1911 extractor, 2000+ rounds no problems. Will sleeve 45's if/when they have any issues, have EGW extractor just waiting for it! Time seems to stand still wait for important gun parts! Get'r running and have fun! Barry
  16. Moderator note: merged threads I have my first new to me open gun that I had rechambered to 9mm for steel shooting. The C-more with reostat only comes on the last 1/4 turn at full brite, no real dimming even indoors. Have switched batteries and dot did not imporve. Switched modules with a friend and get dot dimming the range of reostat. Have ordered replace dot module. Has anybody else had this happen or other C-more issues to watch for? Thanks, Barry
  17. Yankee Hill riser YHM-227A with Weaver Grand Slam 30mm rings will get you up and forward enough with the Millet DMS scope. Grand Slam rings are avaible with quick off levers that can be indexed after tightening or regular nut. Not one piece but easy, solid and funcational!
