Doesn't seem like a waste to me. I have a TSO in 40, shoot quite a bit of minor ammo through it. Also shoot a SP01 Shadow in Production, and before the Shadow, was shooting an XdM in 40 in Production. 40 minor, is, in my opinion, softer than 9mm minor, given specific loads for each. I have friends that have TSO's in 9mm, and have given them my 131 PF Production ammo to shoot, and the handed them my TSO in 40 with it's 134 PF minor ammo, and all have said it was softer than the 9mm. As for a second slide, it might be cheaper just to get your current slide milled, and get a plate that can be put back on it for Limited. Yes, you may have to site it back in everytime to switch back and forth, but I think that wouldn't be too bad.

I have a Competitor 38super. Has the one piece barrel / comp. IIRC, the newer versions had a flat top on the rear of the slide where the site should be. Mine does not. Don't know the year. In my gun, the hotter the load, the flatter it shoots. Running an 8lb recoil spring. If you reload, try a 115 JHP with 10.5 VV N105 @1.235. It will shoot very flat, but I caution you, it will be very loud.

Try some 180 grain coated with 3.2 grains of plain Clays in the TSO.

If you have access to regular Clays, try 3.2 with a 180 coated bullet. Should be about 135 PF and will make you giggle when you shoot it.

A competitor who attempts or completes a course of fire where an incorrect start position was used must be required by a Range Official to reshoot the course of fire. If they started or shot the COF with the hammer cocked, safety on, and the requirements of the relevant division was for a hammer down start, then they had an incorrect start position, and must reshoot the COF. It is NOT a move to Open, merely a reshoot, using the CORRECT start position.
