  1. You have misread the forum rules on this.
  2. Yes, you can request it...but it will not be granted.
  3. It's not censorship. It's the forum rules.
  4. No need for all that...besides, no account ever gets deleted.
  5. I've found SummitCity bullets are as good or better than any other coated bullet that I have shot. Buy with confidence!
  6. To those whose posts have "disappeared" from this thread. Your post disappeared because it violated forum guidelines. Those guidelines have been in place for many years...they haven't changed. To those with the "needs to be a forum to discuss this stuff" mentality, you are right...there needs to be a forum to discuss this stuff, and there probably is...but it is not here. While discussions about USPSA, IPSC, and other shooting sports is a major part of this forum, this is NOT a USPSA/IPSC specific forum. Nature abhors a vacuum. If USPSA were to decline, another shooting body would take its place...but, this forum will remain, as it is NOT a USPSA/IPSC specific forum. This is a SHOOTING FORUM. Now, any more calling the moderators or admins "Fudds" or derogatory comments about the VOLUNTEER work they do on the forum, to enforce the rules, as Brian set forth more than 20 years ago, will result in that post being removed and the person posting such to be suspended from the forum. The mods and admins are your fellow shooters. Would you name call and treat the match director, range master, or range officer of your local club such for following and enforcing the rules of the match?
  7. Pretty much. This is a shooting forum, not a politics forum.
  8. No, it's neither. We do not cover for anyone. We just don't allow politics, of any kind, on the forum. The reason that threads like this get locked is that it will devolve into name calling, he said she said, and politics, of which everyone has a different opinion of. As far as this forum goes, and I think I speak for the entire moderating group here, we don't have any dog in any of these fights, nor do we want to. Our focus is this forum, and keeping it running smoothly and without any discussions that have a tendency to bring out the worst in people. We have NO connection to the board, any AD, or any other ranking personell of USPSA or IDPA (or any other shooting sport not mentioned). While AD's and other board members may be members of this forum, they have ZERO input (and always will have ZERO input) on how this forum is run and moderated. On this forum, they are no different than any other member...if they screw up, they are subject to the same actions as any other member...no exceptions. And, to be brutally honest, I'm getting pretty damned tired of hearing how we close threads down because we are in the boards back pocket. Why don't you write the AD's and all board members, President, Executive officer, whomever, and ask how much they are paying us to shut these threads down? How do we benefit from it? You want threads to not get closed and locked? Read the damn guidelines and follow them. They have been on the forum for years. Now, with that being said, because of the recent developments within USPSA, we have let some threads go longer than we did before. But, if this kind of insinuation continues, we will go back to the old ways and lock ANYTHING that we think will go sideways.
  9. Haven't found the pics and video yet (I've seen them and I still need eye bleach), but here is the thread talking about it. https://forums.brianenos.com/topic/87933-cliff-walsh/#comment-1011662
  10. Yet another reason NOT to chase the power factor floor. There are just too many variables when you are loading that close to minimum.
  11. Personally, I think if you are loading that close to PF floor, you shouldn't be surprised if you fail chrono. Temperature, altitude, humidity, they all play a part. Worrying about .5 grain difference in bullet weight should be the least of the worries. For instance, a 123.5 gr bullet needs to go 1,012.5 fps to make power factor. A 122gr bullet needs to go 1025fps to make power factor. That 124gr bullet needs to go 1008.5 fps. The difference between a 124 and a 122 is 16.5 fps. And that is if all the conditions are exactly the same (same temp, humidity, altitude, etc) as when you chronoed the load initially and when you chrono at a match. And, who among us, can tell the difference between a 132PF load and a 125.1PF load in during a match? Bottom line is, if you are worried about making PF cause one of your bullets may be 2 grains light, maybe you should worry more about bumping your PF up instead, as you are already playing an odds game of missing PF at a match.
  12. When they get to that stage, we call them porcupines. A 610 with 180gr flat nose will take them off the table pretty good.
  13. We actually have some old maple bowling lane. We would set 10 pins up, exactly as they would be set up in a bowling alley. It was quite funny to watch new shooters hit the first pin (point of the triangle), knock them all down, and have them interlock on each other. Trick was start at the backnleft or right, get those off the table, then move to the front ones. A regular 9mm would just rock the pins back and forth once they interlocked.
  14. The gas produced is directly proportional to the charge weight. There is no free lunch. You may like the impulse the 3n38 makes, but a smaller charge will not make more gas. Simple physics.
  15. You might not be pushing them fast enough to stabilize them. Worth a shot. Up the PF.
  16. I'm not sure that 3n38 is going to produce more gas than N105, as it is a faster powder than N105. You're probably looking at around 9 or so grains of 3n38 in a 38 super vs 10.5 + of N105 in a 38 super. Moot point however, since N105 has been discontinued.
  17. I used VV N105 in my 38s open gun (until it was discontinued). Charge weight is related to how much gas the charge will make when fired. I started with LS when I first started loading 38s, and it worked well, but was LOUD. N105 worked much better, because the charge weight was higher (8.5 for LS, 10.5 for N105). 3n38 is probably gonna be my replacement powder.
  18. AFAIK, the older 38 super guns were .356, more recent ones (probably last 20- 25 years or so) are .355.
