  1. Ok, that's what I thought. Here's my suggestion, throw the dipper in the trash can, buy a powder scale and find some other powder to use besides Titegroup.
  2. Are you using Lee powder dippers? If so, do you have a scale?
  3. Lapua if money was no object. I like Federal. Vista Outdoor just bought Remington Ammunition, they already own Speer, CCI and Federal.
  4. Whenever the wife does a load of laundry, I just throw my brass in with her clothes. And NO, I don't de-prime first.
  5. 22 seconds sounds about right for a 3.7gr charge. But I can't explain why going a half grain lower would take 3 times longer. You need to contact customer service for that answer. As you discovered, heavier charges dispense quicker than smaller charges...(which sounds backwards). And you've already reprogrammed the unit and did the straw mod so a phone call to RCBS should probably be your next step. Their newest powder dispenser is called the MatchMaster. Ultimate Reloader did a review including dispensing test times for Bullseye. https://ultimatereloader.com/2019/11/08/tested-new-rcbs-matchmaster-powder-dispenser/
  6. For plinking, I prefer 124gr over 147gr.....and WSF over WST.
  7. ^This I always wash the cases in hot soapy water after sizing. No tumbler, just a bucket....takes all of 5 minutes.
  8. I read this and thought, "TiteGroup isn't that old". But apparently it was introduced in 1998. Still seems like a new powder to me.
  9. Correct. So make sure you can source components before buying hardware.
  10. Thanks! That's encouraging to see that not everything is back ordered.
  11. When you say dirty, I assume you mean sooty? TG isn't too bad if you don't download, my gripe is with staining brass casings and staining the powder hopper.
  12. Some bulging can be expected due to differences in bullet diameter and brass thickness. The thing to avoid is lopsided bulging. I use an M-die expander and a Redding competition seater and every round is concentric and gauges. I'm not saying that's what you need but it's been the easiest for me. Others find a Lee FCD works best for them.
  13. Was this recently or 7 years ago when this thread was started?
  14. I'm guessing the discounts were suspended to discourage hoarding and to allow Jake to catch up on fulfilling orders for his regular customers. To his credit, his prices have held steady throughout this craziness. Just got an order from him yesterday which I placed back in July. Finally ordered from Precision for the first time. Since we're both in TX, I get dinged with sales tax but his discount erased that. If worse comes to worst, I'll have to learn how to cast.
  15. Reaming the chamber might affect accuracy in a negative way. Would I ream out a CZ S2? No way. But with a < $300 Taurus I might consider it if there were no cost involved.
  16. Since it's been 6 months...I'd assume the OP has his issue sorted out by now.
  17. It seems to me, that having several rounds which failed to go bang is more concerning than SDs. Focus on Reloading 101 and set aside the chrono for now.
  18. Years ago, Berrys came up with this great idea of tacking on a "lead surcharge fee" to every order. Let's just say, I haven't bought from him since.
  19. Hope your garage has AC....today the heat index was 108° in McAllen. This summer has been a killer in TX. At our range last weekend it was 104° but we don't have near the humidity like you do in the Valley.
  20. Take this for what it's worth. It's more or less for entertainment purposes since everyone's gun is different. https://www.shootingtimes.com/editorial/alliant-sport-pistol-powder/99181#:~:text=Sport Pistol appears to be one of those, rounds measured 10 feet from the guns' muzzles.
  21. I don't see how you could determine the accuracy of a load shooting at 7yds.
  22. Yeah. they're more expensive. And that's all we know with certainty.
  23. HS6, Universal, AA5, WSF, AA7 comes to mind. Clays is good but major exceeds Hodgdons book max. Much depends on your bullet weights.
  24. Of all the powders available, why settle for one that has no published load data? Alliant doesn't have handgun data for E3 shotgun powder. If they thought it was a good idea, they probably would.
  25. So has everyone else. That's why components, especially primers are in very short supply. I assume you're aware of that...no?
