  1. Lead has actually come down in price since it's peak in Jan. of '08 At the peak, it hit $1.70 per lb. Today it's $1.19 Even with the recent run-up in copper, I don't see bullet makers raising prices like they did 3 years ago. For the most part, bullets are expensive because of demand. If manufacturers can sell their bullets faster than they can make them...then prices will rise. Panic buying and hoarding have more of an effect on bullet prices than the spot metal market does.
  2. That's odd. My 380 plate works perfect. I just sorted several hundred 9's and none of the cases stuck. But if you're unhappy with yours...send it back.
  3. I have no sympathy for postal workers...they're slow, surly and overpaid. The reason they don't use hand-trucks is because the unions won't allow it. They see it as a threat to their job security. $26 at Home Depot and it folds away for storage.
  4. Check the S&B with a magnet. They are now producing brass plated steel cases. Visually, it looks like real brass but it ain't.
  5. I recall in one of Angus's posts saying that the best accuracy he's obtained was from N350 however he had no plans in switching from N320.
  6. It seems like most shooters prefer N320 N310 or even N350. I read somewhere that N330 was specifically made for 9mm but few places even sell it. My experience with it was positive...good accuracy, moderate recoil and clean. I'm assuming it's more popular in Europe. I'd buy some more if PV carried it.
  7. I use the Shell Sorter™. It took 4 seconds to separate the six 380's from the 9mm's. These sorters are a godsend.
  8. I prefer using a rotary tumbler with ceramic media. It's faster than using a vibratory with walnut/corncob and it does a better job. The cases below are before and after.
  9. You could have chosen to remove the firing pin block which also shortens the trigger reset and makes for a crisper feel. Angus does this on request with a written request/waiver from the customer.
  10. I have a Thumlers rotary. Walnut and corncob are way to slow and they only clean the exterior. I've used ceramic and stainless steel media but prefer the ceramic.
  11. I also called Western and it HAS NOT been discontinued. Solo is still being imported from Spain (UEE Cartuchería Deportiva, S.A). Before that it was made in Scotland and before that Czech Republic. Here's their website but it's down http://www.ueec.es UEE also imports ammunition under the RIO name http://www.rioammo.com/components_powders.htm
  12. Read about it on Handloads.com and TheHighRoad. In addition, Grafs, PV and Widener's are OOS. Another thing is that Western completely changed the formulation of Nitro 100 and now labels it "Do not use in Handgun loads". Seems they moved the manufacturing from Czech Republic to St.Marks and changed the powder from flake to ball...strange. Can't confirm the Solo rumor but I can't dispel it either, that's why I'm asking. Funny thing is, I was on the phone with their ballistics guy this week but hadn't heard the rumor yet.
  13. IF that's true then I guess it wasn't popular enough, oh well.
  14. "ZERO" is an anagram of "ROZE" as in Roze Distribution
  15. Ordered 115 HP on Nov. 1 and received them this week. So it took over 3 months. On the plus side...they don't charge your credit card till it ships and they answer your phone calls.
