  1. Hey! That fusion is for sale? P.M. me dude!!
  2. Strange. My Fusion is super dependable. Tight chamber on the Storm Lake bbl, but, if I chamber check the ammo it feeds and runs fine. I agree that they have some customer service issues, but then, that could be said about many of the vendors we seem to deal with. Parts break. Even on the Glocks. Them that shoot them seem to love them. Seems as though any make gun you can name has its followers and detractors... gandog, your Fusion is awesome! Hope it's one of the super-dependable ones!
  3. On my range, my mover is a cable that's 35 ft long running downhill so the target trolly moves @ 5'/sec. Trial and error as to pitch. My trolly is a simple angle iron with bearing type pulleys centered so as to hold the trolly square on the cable. For a release I use an electro magnetic solinoid hooked to a battery through a switch. (rat-tail or push-pull depending on application) Found out really soon to hang the target well below the trolly and to weld guards on the trolly to keep cables, wheels, etc from getting shot... I usually trigger the mover with a falling plate either off the rat-tail switch or onto the push-pull switch. Hope it helps!!
  4. I shoot the 135gr over 3.7gr Win 231 for around 930 - 950 fps. (6" bbl) In talking with Donnie, he states that the groove is not a crimp groove and that these bullets should be taper crimped. Good enough for me. I set up my shorty 38 dies with a 9mm taper crimp die and have shot thousands of them. Accuracy is good, velocity is good and, I don't have any seating depth trouble like I did with the 147 bullets. (My Fusion has a rather tight chamber and I run my COL at 1.100. 147s don't leave much room.) I had no luck with roll crimping them, but then, I don't roll crimp plated either... I shoot mostly steel, and find that the 147s give a very gentle push for recoil, but really hammer the plates! The 135s are a good compromise in recoil and hit the steel hard too. Several companies sell the 135s. Sometimes you will find them listed with the 38 super bullets. I have shot 3 or 4 thousand of the 147, and a case plus of the 135. Nice bullets. Great gentleman on the other end of the phone!
  5. Haven't seen any pics, so the item doesn't exsist... I feel like the guy in the dark, in the ditch with the croaker sack... Snipe HUNT!!!
  6. My son is a Pastor and he has never gotten stuck to a moon clip! Oh, wait, you said paster. Sorry...
  7. You will find lots of helpful tips in the Lee Pro 1000 tips and tricks section. Could be anything from dirt to static electricity, from a burr on the primer post to lack of lube as said before. I have found that a can of air and a can of silicone are your best friends...
  8. I don't know if Win 231 is uber-fast, but with the loads I shoot steel with, (usually around 125 - 130PF) I can reload my brass countless times. Like till the headstamp is worn off / unreadable. I'm currently experimenting with nickle cases, and am on around 6 or 8 loadings without any splits, etc. Same powder in my shorty .38 cases and they have been loaded probably (I don't keep track...) 2 dozen or more times. They are taper crimped, BTW. PS I have an aluminum Blazer 9mm case that I have loaded at that above PF 3 times and it's still going strong. Just wondered how many I could get out of it based on a similer thread in this forum.
  9. I pull the pin on my poppers and re-install the popper backward, and I have a forward faller. I built these, so, I don't know if they will all convert that way? Maybe you can use any popper?? Just a thought...
  10. Welcome from the free state of Pa! Range in the back yard and unlimited ammo in the mags! You haven't annoyed me yet!!!
  11. Calling your shots on steel is the same as on paper, but, IMHO, is more crucial! If you wait to hear the "ding" you're late. If you wait to see it move, you're really late! That's why the better shooteras are on about popper or plate #5 when the 1st hits the ground. I think it takes a lot of confidence and faith to blaze on through, calling your shots and picking up the misses on the reload. More practice! Just my opinion...
  12. I have an old Lee Turret that has loaded over 250,000 rounds. I have the 3 hole turrets. Quick to change caliber (20sec.) and very accurate. About 200 rounds/hr. Can't go wrong there! If I want more production, I use Lee Pro 1000s. Probably not the best for a 1st press. The Turret would be awesome though!
  13. Hey! I'm in Montrose, about 40 min north of you. My son attends BBC in clarks Summit! We shoot pistols at my place on Monday nights if you are ever interested. This week is "Carry Guns, etc". Let me know if you have an interest and I can PM directions for you. Welcome aboard!! Oh, yes, we pretty much all reload, including a guy who just started in the last few months. All sorts of different equipment between us, but always glad to help out...
  14. Welcome from Northeast PA!! where you@? If I may be so bold...
  15. Welding steel = bad! No temper, no spring... I used a flat peice of steel with a through bolt and a coil spring to retain tension on the bottom of the plate. (the plate slips between the arm and that flat piece.) Also put a bolt in the bottom to keep the plates from "volunteering" when a plate falls and hits the arm. The bolt acts as an indexing pin. Works great! I have 2 stars and a polish plate rack and all work just fine...
  16. My wife and I were there over the Memorial Day weekend at the Gaither Family Fest at the Convention Center. Take the ski tow (or sky lift) to the top of the mt. Awesome. Also, .50 gets you a half hr or so ride on the trolly which goes all around town. Neat place. We also went to Applewood. I heard Dollywood is cool, but we didn't go. Have a great trip!
  17. You might want to look at AA9. It is flash suppressed, good velocities, and uses standard primers. I use 14.5gr with a 125gr bullet for 1400 fps out of a 4" non ported 686. Might be great for the ported gun!
  18. Borrow a gun, shoot out a window! Some would then claim it on their insurance, and get reimbursed... Not us tho, cause we shooting guys and girls are honest!! Good on you tho. I would have seriously flipped out! PS I always carry a spare in my wallet... Want to guess why?
  19. I bought 5000 in the strips a year ago... Popped out 1k at a time while watching T.V. and used them up. My Lee 1000 will hold 200 at a time in the primer tray. Makes for a good loading session! Good buy!
