  1. Not to sound like Johnny Raincloud, but, aren't the original designs patented property? Just a thought. And no, they are not hard to build if you have the stuff... I have 2 that I made. (I used different holders for the plates...)
  2. +1 ^ +2. I would think that if that gun is firing without pressing the trigger, I would want that shooter and that firearm off the course at that time!
  3. Seems to work now... Thanks all!
  4. I would have to believe that anyone who is actually good enough to hit the edge of 1 popper and drop 2 poppers, 3 times on command is one heck of a shot! He or she probably wouldn't need to be concerned with saving time. Let's all try that and see how much time it saves...
  5. Now THAT'S gun control! Great shooting!!

  7. My .02... Since the human mind can only concentrate (really concentrate) on one thing at a time, the trick is to so completely train oneself in any discipline, whether it be shooting, working, fighting, etc, that the actions are automatic. Then, while participating in that discipline, one can enjoy the complete experience and the mind's subconscience side will take over the learned functions, and whammo! Zen-like performance. When we shoot a run, or make a play, or throw a tecnique, and it's PERFECT, we say, "wow, that was Zen!". No, you just let go and let your mind's mind take over. Oh, to be in that place more often... As I said, my .02...
  8. OUCH!! I would definately NOT want to shoot myself in the pipe! Nor the bum either...
  9. Yes, the mini dots make them a lot easier to use on just about any gun. I have a J point on one and a Burris Fastfire2 on another. Wish I had the FF3. 8 min dot! By "dark" I mean too dark to use the irons (which for me is, oh, about noon these days!) but light enough to see the target. I have had some sucess with fiber optcs. The .060 tubes gather a lot of light... I think lasers are another tool for us to utilize. It's the best of times now I think!
  10. I guess "bling" is a subjective thing? I find that nearing 60 yrs, I can't see the front sight well enough to hit well at speed. I have gone to red dots on my competition pistols. I also have a couple guns with Crimson Trace lasers on them. Mostly for the house gun purpose, but, I have found them to be great for low light practice, carry gun matches, and, especially, training a newer shooter to recognize where the sights are when firing. I believe some call it "calling your shots". Lasers won't do everything, but then, neither will red dots and open sights. Think shooting in the dark, low light practice,in the house at 0:dark-thirty,etc. Lasers rock! If you are shooting a lot in low light, you will find it a real help. Crimson trace probably has a model to slip right on your gun...
  11. Why don't you live close to me... I have NOWHERE to practice anything like that around me... Probably an easy drive... What 15 or so hrs? Wish you did live close. You would be welcome! Last Saturday I set up 2 stars next to each other as part of a 30 target stage. People still hate them... Funny to watch though.
  12. I cut my followers down to make them look the same as the aftermarket ones. Like somebody said before, if you need more than 5 or 6 you won't be competitive. Still fun! But probably not for great times... GSG should be a great gun for that. Have fun!
  13. If you hold the gun sideways and kind of fling the bullets out (you know, like they do in the movies ) you would probably get better velocity and maybe a bit more accuracy... Just a thought.
  14. My Rugers are 10, my Brownings are 10, my GSGs are 14, my little PK22 is 8. Hope it helps...
  15. R.O.ing a female shooter on a stage: Me, "shooter ready?" the female, "NO!" Or the guy that shot at the target that was 2 sides of cardboard, balloon in the center of mass, suspending the target. (target wearing a t shirt). He dumps a whole mag into the target and, not hitting the balloon, it doesn't fall. He looks at me and says, "Man, that's a tough balloon! That's not fair!"
  16. Bet we see one in an Arnold movie or the next Expendibles... Hey, if they made it in .22 none of us could afford to shoot it!
  17. Yeah, but, we can always put off going to the hospital. We NEED that .22 ammo now! C'mon man, this is serious!
  18. Lighter bullet, fast powder, more velocity... Have you timed your splits? When I switched to 9mm 147s I felt like the slide was really sluggish. Tried it on the timer, and found I couldn't outrun the gun. My best splits were around .18 and the slide was in battery every time! Might seem slow, but it's probably not really!
  19. Silver bullets for vampires, right? What are golden bullets for? Any ideas? I can think of a few...
  20. My experience... I bought a Lee Turret 40 or 41 yrs ago. I've loaded well over 1/2 million rounds on it. Used it for 9mm, 38, 357, 44mag, and 45. Takes (literally) 30 sec to change caliber. All the quality you will ever want. You can do an honest 200 rounds/hr if you want to. I don't. Bought 2 Lee Pro 1000s for that... No experience with Dillons, except for the guys I know that have sold their Dillons (and bought Lee). IMHO
  21. Well... Guess I will price my Federal 525 Value Packs at, oh, $400.00!
  22. Sounds like maybe a combination of the easy safety and what's probably the web of your hand sweeping it on? Stronger spring might help... Also might have somebody with a different tecnique try it just for kicks? Seems there is always a volunteer to shoot somebody else's gun!!! ROFL
