  1. I don't have my notes with me , I'll post them later. I didn't get a chance to chrono the 4.8 rounds as I ran out of time. When testing new loads..............my goal is to have every bullet tested to exceed the PF floor with a plus 5 PF buffer (950 FPS). Then there are no worries for the chrono stage and dealing with the possibilities of temp change, lite bullet weight, humidity elevation, chrono measuring differences and most importantly Murphy's Law! With that being said and I use N320 and Zero 180 FMJ, I think you might need a couple of more 1/10's of a grain. Your choice.
  2. How many of the 4.7 fell below the 917 FPS (165 PF) and by how much? How many of the 4.8 fell below the 917 FPS (165 PF) and by how much?
  3. That's about right.I looked in the manual and here's the proper parts for 40 #5 shell plate (shared with 9mm) "W" powder funnel (9mm uses "F") #2 locator pins (9mm uses #3) So unless you have the wrong powder funnel, all appears well with that part. How about the shell plate adjustment? Any chance it worked loose? The Dillon seat die is just that, a seater. So in theory if everything is properly adjusted it should seat bullets centered every time. Here's where I'm headed with all this---if the bullets are seating off center something is causing it, the question is what? If the shell plate is properly adjusted the next place I'd go is replacing the seat die. Or, at least call Dillon. My 650 manual states W shell plate and my 40 cal die kit has a W shell plate. 4. CBC will not case gauge for me when using a 147 FMJ. No GO!
  5. Go buy a box of Remington 115 gr. They are low PF, less than 125.
  6. I am confused..............is the 932 fps for the 180g Zero JHP or those silly plated bullets?
  7. Thanks for the ideas and very helpful............however, Ctrl C is for copy and Ctrl X is for cut.
  8. Is the headstamp GFL? If so, then it is FIOCCHI.............hmmmmmm
  9. When you are trying to establish the power factor for you loads do you........................(and I understand that this can only happen on the initial sequence)........................... 1. Shoot the load without warming up the gun? 2. Warm up the gun and then shoot your load? 3. If you have tried both both ways, was there any difference in the chrono readings?
  10. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ "I gave a LOT of thought about sending one to Apex. They claim less than 2" at 50 yards, but, I haven't seen enough feedback yet to drop $400." That means RH 45 wants APEX to gunsmith fit the barrel. I believe the charge for barrel fitting is approximately $200. Therefore, $200 + $200 = $400.
  11. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ That is exactly what happened to me one time when I was shooting a Glock. Instant and complete mag disassembly with the mag body remaining in the magwell.
  12. This could be an interesting discussion.
  13. A Zero 180 TCFM @ 4.2grs of VV320 with 1.135 OAL makes major? What FPS or PF?
  14. Are you using those for grease or oil? It looks like the tube diameter is too large for small drops of oil. I would like to use the syringe for lube.
  15. mjohn

    Which one?

    Tarpon Octopus or Squid?
  16. I too have that problem and I am scheduled to see a neurologist in two months. Also, might want to check to see if you have high blood pressure. Also, Parkinson's Disease is a possibility.
  17. Then please tell me what bullet you would use if you wanted to load with N320 for a 180gr FMJ using the chart you referenced and at what starting point?
  18. T Distribution vs Standard Distribution Also, an online calculator for you. http://stattrek.com/online-calculator/t-distribution.aspx#tscore
  19. Concerning the DILLON CV-2001 and walnut , the dryer sheets, NuFinish, mineral spirits, and tumbling outside still creates a mushroom cloud of dust when using the separator. I have not tried the Lyman and that seems to be a good idea. Also, I have used corn cob and the mushroom cloud has decreased dramatically. Also, a 50-50 mix of corn cob and walnut could be a good idea that I might try.
  20. Would like to know. What about a plate rack? If multiple quick follow up shots were shot, would that guarantee a fall?
  21. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Prvi PartizanI have used it in 9, 40, 45 and 223. It is brass cased and FMJ. Don't use it in a match as you will fail at the chrono station. I have seen bench rest tests using the ammo and the accuracy grouping is slightly larger compared to US made ammo, but not significant compared to the savings you will receive.
  22. This is getting to be too much..............sort, don't sort... head stamp sort, no head stamp sort... crimped, not crimped.........brass, not brass, or steel brass.......magnet or no magnet...CBC, PPU FM and others good or no good. Good grief.......what's next. Oh ...... wet tumble or dry tumble...air/sun/fan dry or oven dry............home oven dry or dehydrator dry... tray pack in 50/100 trays or zip lock bags.........zip locks bags with air or with air removed (Vacumm packed)... ammo can storage with or without desiccant packs......... And finally...reload or buy factory and if factory...........hoard or not to hoard. I have a headache CPU overlaod.
  23. I get a tremendous amount of dust using crushed walnut from the pet store. I bought a 25lb bag so now I am stuck with it for awhile. I have added NuFinish with Odorless Mineral Spirits and cut up used dryer sheets and there is still dust everywhere. The dust is really bad when using the separator. I run the tumbler outside along with the separator and wear a mask when doing so. Not good.
