  1. Something is rotten in Denmark. You are not even in the same ball park as compared to the reloading guide. You should not be that far off. What gun are you shooting? What is the barrel length? How old is the powder. Has it been stored properly? Does you chrono read correctly (compared to the reloading guide for other loads that you have tried? Go back and recheck everything possible and try again if you really like the poweder, or switch to the 320 like you suggested and all will be well.
  2. Concerning her belt coming loose and can be a safety issue or competitor equipment failure, I can not find a rule that states she can continue to shoot or a rule that states she has to stop and correct the mistake and continue or be granted a reshoot.. Obviously, she handled the malfunction well and continued. The best idea I came up with is she could place the gun on the ground, (Rule 10.5.3) fix the problem and continue. But that is not what happened. So.........do we have a definitive answer about the belt , especially since we are dealing with a production division situation? Any ideas?
  3. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ You are on the right track. However something is wrong on your reporting data. At 3.6, how can the ave be 877 when the low is 885 and the high is 900? Hmmmmm........ 885 and 900 are above the average. Anyway, my method is to keep increasing by 0.1 UNTIL ALL the rounds fired are +5 over power factor which would be 888 FPS. Also, your numbers are very close to mine and I too do not get a large ES and ave about 20 for ES. I am using 3.7 N320 @ 1.150 147 Zero jacketed. I am at 135 PF and never have to worry about weather, humidity, elevation or chrono differences. You will not notice the additional 0.1 grains when shooting so it is worth the peace of mind to me. Also, if you nick a steel target and not a full center hit, you will have a better chance of the steel falling. Additionally, some say the the powder lots vary in consistency, and that is another reason to not cut it close. You are there, so the choice is yours.
  4. I was taught when shooting off of a bag to only rest your forearm and not the wrists or gun. Not saying it is right, but easy to try and see if that makes a difference. I know when shooting off of a bag, it is sometimes difficult to get the same alignment of the sights each time and that maybe the cause for the spread at 25yds.
  5. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Perfect Grumpy and thanks. Up to about a month ago it was displayed exactly as you described. And then without me knowingly changing anything, the light blue went away. Great response with pictures and much obliged. Thanks for the time saver.
  6. I know if you are participating in a thread it is then marked with an *. However, if you have read a thread, is there any indication that you have viewed or read the thread previously? Also, when I open a thread that I immediately did not remember that I have viewed, I am immediately taken to the newest post since I have last viewed the thread which is good. What I am trying to do is not waste time in viewing a thread that I have already read and find out that there is no new information in the thread, or wanting to view new information in a thread that I do not recall that I have read only to find out that there is no inew information that has been added to the thread that I would wish to read. I have tried using the F5 key to refresh each time I read a thread to indicate that I have read the thread, but it does not always indicate that I have started to read the thread after a day or two has passed. I hope I have explained the situation correctly.
  7. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ You are mixing and not matching the same time of bullet. Montana's are jacketed and Xtreme's are plated. Therefore, the velocities from a plated will be different than the velocities from a jacket bullet and you will not be able to transfer the load data between bullets and expect to get the same results for a different type of bullet. Go to VV loading data for 147 and you will see that for the same powder and the same weight bullet, different bullets (type of coating and style of bullet) yield different results. Capish?

  9. 10. Maybe the person does not have a place where he can set up a chrono. Not everybody lives on multi acres of property. When I have shot at public indoor ranges, no one is ever allowed to go forward of the firing line. I think the person is asking a reasonable question and would appreciate a constructive answer to his question.
  11. Also, you do not have a discount with UPS until you have met their qualifications for a minimum amount of shipments. After qualifying, then your discount will take place and the discount varies with the volume of packages that you ship.
  12. I see from your pictures you are using some brass that I throw in the scrap bucket. I am using Zero's 147 FMJ and if I use CBC and Aquila brass (and others that I do not remember off the top of my head as I have the info written down by my reloading bench) the finished rounds will not pass the case gauge or plunk test. So to avoid problems, I sort brass by head stamp. Wipe your powder storage tube with a used dryer sheet. Problem will go away.
  13. Vibra Prime. No problems and worked straight out of the box. I have not made any modifications to it. Bought it on sale it Midway.
  14. My thoughts too but didn't quite know how to say it. That is FUNNY! Well.........since humor is being applied................how about................"........unload and show clear."
  15. Discovery Channel where I live is showing "Alaska: The Last Frontier."
  16. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I stated IF THE NUMBERS WERE TOTALED OR SUMMED as was suggested by an earlier post.
  17. I think that cost and availability should use a reverse scale as both are seen as negatives and if you total the numbers (so that the higher numbers win) you are rewarding a powder that cost more and is hard to find,
  18. Am I understanding this right..............10' equals 10 feet. I would think you would need a brace or some type of post to attach 10 vertical feet of pipe.
  19. Thanks for the visual and nice job. Great idea that I like and I will adapt that idea for my work area too!
  20. ^^^^^^^^^^ Mine is a similar story except I am using Zero's 147 FMJ. That is the bullet that a lot of people who I have shot with used and I have no desire to reinvent the wheel, so I went with FMJ, stayed with them and I am happy. Always nice to here other peoples opinions.
  21. Could you please provide your load data and the press you are using. A S.D. of 2 is excellent.
