Z, I guess your right on the HHF, back in the day when I got my GM card in Limited I was shooting my SS rig and the last couple classifiers were done with my Production rig. On average the shooters who shoot the SSC only shoot SS for a couple a months a year before the match. After that they go back to their preferred division. SSD is in it's infancy we didn't have instant GM's in the first two years of the then new divisions Production, L10, and Revo. The HHF came from Ltd for two of those. The classifiers are neutral for Ltd, Pro, SSD, and L10. Practice, Practice, Practice, and more level III SSD matches and it will work itself out. Rich -
What does the end of your firing pin look like? Your firing pin maybe piercing the primer. A dimpled breech face is an old way to prevent the primer from flowing into the firing pin hole. Rich

I prefer the S&A or the Heinie magwells, they give a better funnel action to the opening. They are made of steel and won't deform with a hard hit. They might not be the largest openings out there but they aren't so big that you miss them. Rich

13 Heinies, 1 Vickers, and 1 SA FBI Bureau model, I think is the correct tally for the SSC. Rich -

Heading down, looks like it will be a little moist. Rich -
Just a warning, a little grinding and polishing on the firing pin safety block might be a little too much and the safety won't work as designed. Rich

With less than a week left for all to go out practice, here's one more reason to do one more practice session. This will be on the Prize table. -
How many guns is TOO MANY?
RIIID replied to XDNut's topic in Miscellaneous Topics That Do Not Fit in Any Other Forum
You will never have too many guns, after you are dead, maybe. Rich -
Can I really be keel hauled, if I'm found to be guilty?

The top of the mag at the front needs the to be lowered for the frame stop and adjust for the slide stop catch. The mag catch hole also needs an adjustment. Rich
-
For fixed sights I like the Warren rear sight with a plain front, for adjustable Bo-mar style rear and plain front. Rich

I got a small frame gun in the other day and my LTD/Open magwell fits the outside opening. The internal area needs to be blended to the magwell. I checked a Springfield P9 against both magwells I make and no go. I'll have to make a magwell just for that frame. If you have a small frame gun could you measure the outside dimensions, width and length and post/e-mail them. The frame I have is in the 22,000 serial number range, there might be some small frame gun owners out there that doesn't have to wait for the small frame magwell to be made. Rich

Springfield XDm in 40, it has the capacity to shoot Limited and down loaded for Production. Trigger job and low mount adjustable rear. A few more items can be added if wanted. A 9mm for Production and steel, but it's not worth shooting Limited minor. Rich

Dave, For one example some shooters won't have to relax their grip to let a mag fall out during a reload. Another, a metal grip carbon/ss will put the weight where it is needed, in the hand. A weighted magwell below the hand doesn't give the needed balance of weight. Another, if a metal grip does crack it can easily be welded, a plastic one buy another grind, sand, stipple, paint, cover, or throw it against the wall to get it to feel like the old one. As for only one magwell available for the SV grip, there will be two after I design and build one. Rich
-
I can't believe the cost of this part would deter some from buying this. Most shooters will spend hundreds of dollars chasing after tuned mags that will hold one more round. Metal grips on the modular frame guns will make it a better shooting and handling gun. As a side note I'd buy the SV grip before the STI grip, the SV is engineered better. Rich

They start a round $1550.00 with 2-21 round mags. Rich

How is the EAA Elite Stock USPSA Production legal?
RIIID replied to gng4life's topic in EAA / Tanfoglio Shop
The shooter has to manually decock the gun. The shooter has to pull the trigger and ease the hammer down with their hand. Several Production approved guns have to be decocked this way, nothing to worry about unless you do it wrong. Rich -
Morphire, As to the blanket protest you will need a deep pocket. The protest fee is generally set at $100.00 per, that's to stop people from protesting anyone and everyones gun. Let your AD know your views. Rich

Canyon Creek has plans to make a stainless steel magwell for the small frame in a couple of months. It will fit like the current magwells for the Match and Open/Limited guns. Rich
-
For Limited look at the magwell and base pads that Canyon Creek offers, the CR Speed holster for an race type holster, Safariland for an enclosed type. Rich

I would like to thank those involved in this much needed re-write of the Production Division rules. The only negative I have is in the opening statements, to put the blame on the shooters it isn't needed, there was a failure on USPSA's part also. Rich
