Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I shot XDs and XDms for the last 5 years in 9mm and .40 both with and without the weighted guide rods. I found that the .40 actually has less snap than the 9mm but that is with my own reloads. The biggest improvement I made over the years in shooting was after taking a class from Manny Bragg. I purchased the grip strengthners that he sells on his web site and found that the recoil was never an issue again. It took months to increase the strength in wrist enough to really notice though. If you re serious about shooting I would recommend buying a reloader first (cost of ammo) and then buy some grip strengthners second then go have some fun. As for the rod, it is a good investment but if money was an issue I wold start with the grippers. Just my humble opinion.

Check www.mannyusa.com for price on glock clone and equipment. I just ordered the STI clone from him and the gas and ordered the targets and stand from CED http://www.cedhk.com/show.php/Object82. I hope that helps. Rick
  3. I have 3 XD tacticals with the sight and love it. I also have 3 XDm with the bomar rear sight and dawson front fiber. This setup requires the milling of the rear slide for the sight. I love both but would recommend the latter.
  4. When the wife says"I don't care how many guns you have or how much ammo you keep, just make sure both are locked up from the kids." So one safe has all the guns and one safe has all the ammo, primers, and powder.
  5. you guys are killing me. I guess when the dealer I buy 90% of my guns from sends me a Christmas card I should have started to wonder then.
  6. Except for the mags already loaded, that is what my one safe looks like. The other safe, same size is stack to the rim with ammo.
  7. I had lunch with a friend yesterday and the subject went to selling guns. He mentioned that he was going to sell all his guns except for the ones he competes with and carrys on a regular basis. He stated that he just doesn't have the time for the rest and that he feels the rest are just taking time away from his true passion of competing with his pistols. I started thinking about it last night and now I am thinking the same thing. I have a large amount of long guns that I may shoot once a year if not less and I started stock piling ammo for that I may never shoot. So the question is how many guns is too many. I could sell quite a few and just keep the ones I compete with and pay off some bills or keep them all and every time I open the safe wonder what am I doing with all of this. I know I am opening myself up here but what do you guys think.
  8. Lets see what the boss has to say. We have been pulling our hair out for three days on this one. I think its worth more than just a shirt for that effort. If he makes it two I say we donate them to a couple of Juniors. I owe the man already for all he has done. Right there with you. My 13 yr old son would jump at the chance to wear one at our next local match.

  10. my girlfriend and i are going to probably fly from vegas to Albuquerque for the high desert classic (assuing I can talk her into it). Granted i'll be flying a little piper to the match so we wont have to deal with the typical airline hassles. I'm not sure how much of a pain that would be with putting a gun and ammo through the checkin process. That sounds like a real pain. I don't think we'd go fly to any matches on a regular basis if we had to deal with that. I travel for my business 2 or 3 times a year and since I have CWP from Florida and it reciprocates in almost all states that issue CWPs, I take my guns with me and 100 rds of ammo on the planes with no problem. My issue is if I go to shoot a match I would need to take my son also and his guns (no problem there) but with all the ammo, is it worth it, and how much hassle is it with all that ammo?
  11. Just wondering how far you guys will go to shoot a major match? Also will you drive or fly and why. I am trying to see if this summer I can get to some major matches but there aren't any in Florida at that time.
  12. There's only 1, non-typed post in this thread. What else happens daily (or almost daily) related to BrianEnos.com that might somehow relate to that pic? Comon peoples. I get the "non typed thread part now" but "what happens daily.. that relates to the pic" The picture looks like somebody in meditation, something I once did daily years ago, but besides the Japaneses writing is gone, www.brianenos.com in normal font, and the fact that my bill the other day came from Brian Enos and not Ancient Publishing, I have no idea.
