  1. I have Blade Tech and Comptac myself. They're both nice, but I think the Comp-tac just looks 100% nicer. I've had the Blade Tech for quite a few years and it's going strong, though.
  2. I had this same thing happen with my Pro last month in a match (pull the trigger and it's dead, rack and it's fine). That's the first malfunction that I've ever had with it, though. I found it really strange.
  3. Well if anyone needs mags, I have 5 of them for sale for $30 each (brand new S&W mags).
  4. I don't see any reason why not. Equipment makes very little difference.
  5. I have one gun with FO and the other all plain black. I prefer the plain black, but strangely, I shoot better with the FO. I'm going to shoot a little more with my production gun this fall, but I don't see myself switching.
  6. Unless there's some gross mismatch between the way the gun fits and your hand, I doubt it'll do anything. You need to pay more attention to your sight picture and trigger control if your rounds are going left. I'm also willing to bet that lightening the trigger pull will do more for you than changing the distance from the backstrap, but that's just a conjecture.
  7. You're fine, actually, and great advice/pictures. It's obvious that English isn't your first language, but I've seen native speakers write far worse! Good job.
  8. OK, can you recommend some quality lead or moly to use with Solo 1000? yes. Call bear creek supply at 209-874-4322 They don't have a website anymore but nobody makes a better Moly bullet, trust me. If you want bare cast lead, hit up my friend Jim's website at www.snscasting.com
  9. I have been shooting lead for years in 9mm and .45 and I would not trade it for anything. I use powders that are among the fastest available and I have not had any issues. I used Clays for years and have since switched to Accurate's Solo 1000. My loads make power factor, are soft shooting, and they don't smoke too much. I also used moly coated bullets in the past and I am going back to them because they don't gum up the dies as much. Lead bullets are absolutely perfect for outdoor shooting.
  10. Your club is OUTSTANDING. Thanks for the warm welcome this summer. I shot with you guys twice, and it was great both times.
  11. Yet another rule that needs to be changed. Match DQ for something that nearly every CZ owner has to do in order to comply with the rules? Sorry, but that doesn't make any sense. While I personally think thumbing down a hammer is unnecessarily unsafe, once the line goes hot, nothing should be grounds for a DQ unless it is unsafe. This is one area where the USPSA needs to take a serious look at its rules and what they're trying to accomplish.
  12. I've never cared for recoil buffers in anything. They cause stovepipes.
  13. I agree. Carrying the 26 is just not a compromise that I'm willing to make. When I carry a Glock (which, strangely, is more than anything else because I'm a lazy bastard, and I even have it on now as I'm posting this), I carry a 19.
  14. Did your gun cycle? I'm willing to bet that you don't even have a problem at all. If you dropped even a starting load of any powder with data for .45, you should get >500 FPS velocity. I'd bet the chrono is lying over something wrong with your ammo if your gun cycled and ejected the load.
  15. I agree. I shared my experience. I'm really happy with my Kimbers. They're not Wilsons, RRAs, or Baers, but they're a hell of a lot better than my friend's old Taurus.
  16. The guy that makes these bullets is from my home club and I have been using them in 9 and 45 for a while.
  17. That's the theory, anyway. In my experience I can shoot identical Master scores on the classifier with either gun. If you're a master, I'm pretty sure it doesn't make any difference what kind of gun you're shooting. TGO kicks the crap out of people in open with a production or SS gun all the time.
  18. Wow, do mine! If I wasn't a broke college kid, I'd do it so quickly. It'd be so amazing to have my vision. <-- Is 25 and is -6 diopters or greater in both eyes. I've been wearing contacts for 17 years so far.
  19. Maybe I'm in the minority but I can't tell the difference. Either way the brass gets clean and I load it. If I spent forever polishing my brass, I'd never get to go shooting.
  20. Shoot a bunch of As in record time. I think that's the correct answer. Adjustable sights are a joke. Since you're stuck with them, I hope the guys here can find you a quality set. But me personally, I do not encourage the use of, nor use adjustable sights on pistols.
  21. I don't understand that way of thinking. If I had primers that I had trouble selling, I might be reduced to putting them on Gunbroker. Of course I'd start the bidding at my shelf price and offer a "buy it now" at that price. Gunbroker is a great advertising tool. No one wanted the 15,000 Federal Small Pistol Magnum Primers I got in 2 weeks ago so I sold them to a manufacturer in 1 lot. If the BR2's that are on the way become hard to sell I'll do the same thing again. I'm in the business of selling stuff, not looking at it sitting on the shelf and if Gunbroker helps me achieve that goal then so be it, but everything I have is offered here first. Now if the seller is marking the product up 200% and some idiot is willing to pay that, then who's at fault? I just don't understand the animosity towards sellers on Gunbroker. The only way to explain it is blatant ignorance of the law of demand. (for those of you who don't know, the law of demand states that there exists an inverse relationship between price and quantity demanded)
  22. Keep your fingers crossed....some guns don't display problems until quite a few more rounds through them. One guy said his was fine until he hit the 750 mark and then it started having repeated FTEs. R, Mine has thousands of rounds through it and here is the only place I've heard of problems.
  23. I would go with the 34 if you want a Glock. Guys here are telling you to save your money, but it's less than $100 difference and the increased sight radius will make it easier to shoot.
  24. Have you actually shot a USP? There's nothing "superb" about the trigger at all. In fact, my cheap commie DA/SA guns have nicer trigger feel than any USP that I've ever fired. The finish is nice, and it's a plastic gun with a lot of checkering, designed for military use and to be shot with gloves. The grip shape is similar to a 1911 as well. That is in addition to what you already mentioned--the high bore axis makes the USP much harder to control than a gun that can actually sit in your hand where it belongs. I used to own a USP .45 Compact and sold it. The bore axis isn't the only thing that I disliked about the HK. The trigger is absolutely horrendous. I haven't lived in NJ in a long time, but I don't see why the FFL couldn't just swap the mags from that gun for ones with a 10-rd capacity. I thought permanently altering mags made them legal in NJ, but it's been a while since I kept up on gun laws there. There is a dealer that is putting a rivet in the back of the magazines to make them "legal" to 15 rounds. Is that a permanent modification? I say no, and your states' attorney may also...which would put you in the pokey for a long time, if caught. My experience in NJ is that very few people actually comply with their stupid laws anyway, but I certainly would not violate the law every day of my life by owning something that was most likely illegal. The FFL can't swap the mags out because they do not make 10 round mags for an XD(m). They are available in 19 round only. I would not take my advice as legal advice, but it is much easier to avoid a situation that might be illegal rather than go for it and test the system.
