  1. Nice to see at least one Miller Brother on this new version of Enos. Awesome.
  2. Cut original lifter like this and try it. Or send the new lifter back to Taran and tell him it's too long.
  3. When i said dirty-I didn't mean that you didn't clean it. But every time time I have had this issue it gets corrected if I take out the trigger group-clean all that (taking the trigger group apart, too), take bolt apart and clean it, and taking recoil spring out and clean it. And then really cleaning those rail channels for the bolt. When I've gotten a gun from somebody else, the recoil spring is rusty, or the inertia spring in the gun is rusty. Gunpowder makes H2O and carbon, carbon is ok, it's that H2O that's a problem. Since you're going to all that work, might as well change the springs out. And just smooth those touching areas with 600 and 1500 sandpaper. DVC
  4. It's dirty. So if you're cleaning-might as well clean and replace those springs as well. The lifter, bolt release, and shell catch release should be nice and smooth where they touch.
  5. No. PCC is easier than it looks. Especially SBR. Alphas are infinitely easier, especially on the metric top A zone. More control, same caliber. Nice.
  6. Does shoulder position mean shouldered? Or does it mean in the area? This a good statement. Stealing it.
  7. You are probably done with this, but maybe not. Just find the sight picture you need with the stock sights, it's made for three gun and shooting long distance slugs. No clamp is necessary. You can use one if you must, but they do change point of aim for slugs. They are not necessary for slings. Not going on patrol in Chu Lai, just going from point A to B-could use paracord. You don't need to do anything to the lifter, but you can cut it like this (Vezzoli mod). Here's how much I've taken off the port. Some guys run these stock except for opening the port a little. Simple is better. Good luck at Ironman. Oil it between stages, clean after match-just wipe, blow some air and oil bolt and bolt carrier. Best 3 Gun shotgun going in my opinion.
  8. One gun is easy. Safety table there, just like for pistol, Chamber flag, bolt open, muzzle down, or up if holding in hand and no breaking the handgun rules. Mulltigun is where the problem lies. I carry my PCC slung in front muzzle down on a sling like your checking ID at a checkpoint. Jeff Cooper's 4 rules pretty much cover it.
  9. The best matches have enough personnel and space to have a supervising RO and a table for putting shotguns and rifles on and preloading the shotgun, this is also often where chokes are changed also. Chamber flags are ok, but as some have already suggested, they are often just to hold the bolt open. A lot of new people are shooting 3 Gun Matches without having practiced, researched, and developed the skills necessary for handling 3 guns safely. We need not just rules, but maybe a Code of Conduct essay that must be read and signed before shooting the match or certification for appearing in a USPSA 3 Gun Match. In reality, if you train and are good, you could go across a disco dance floor with 3 loaded guns, hot, and never muzzle anyone. Muzzling the RO from a few feet away is definitely toward the retard level. I see goofy stuff a lot and like a lot of people have already said. muzzling is never ok. Period. I will say a lot of the problem is due to poor layout, too many people in a cramped space, lack of tables and generally matches trying to do too much without adequate manpower.
  10. I am not sure how it can be a rule for a match that Charles Sole runs, as he is a 3GN MD (Or last I knew he was), and 3GN has no rules other then burning a round about long guns having to be shouldered at all. If it is in the 3Gun Nation rules it is not in any rule book I can find on-line. Maybe you should ask them to show you this in print at the next match and you can tell us on what page or napkin it is written on? You are correct as of this moment. The rule was in there last year because I asked at every match. The Versamax Series Matches were a variant of 3GN rules. Tarheel 3 Gun Rules were revised in March this year. PCC 3 GN rules have been revise since February, which is when I last shot it.There is no language in any rules that I see that precludes any long gun or carbine not being shot from the shoulder except when "burning" a round. Probably because there was no good reason for the rule in the first place. I hope USPSA changes the rule to be more in line with pistol rules.
  11. The boat was superfluous. The shooting position was too cramped- what is the reason for that? What is the purpose or reason or the attraction of manipulating a rifle around boat trailer winch while having to stay in a space the size of a latrine hole? The clays were inconsistent but not the worst I have seen. A lot of that is how the clays are loaded. The thing that bothered me most is why have a dump bucket right next to a staging table when there is no advancement? Why can't you just put the shotgun back down? I mean the stage was okay in terms of shooting challenge, but the quirkiness of it was like- because we can. I mean this is a match that has very little freestyle but it is an attractive long range venue. No need to add shooting on one foot while.chewing Red Man and humming Dixie.
  12. Who is designing stages thus year? The boat stage had a couple issues and I would not like to see that repeated.
  13. I've posted pictures of Roberto's mods for a couple years now. On this forum. Not sure what your holy grail is. His main innovation is to eliminate welding the lifter, which is opposed by every manufacturer, gun smith, semi-pro modder here in the US, for obvious reasons. It works really well. Serial numbers can be moved, per ATF, no regulation against it. But check for yourself. It's about 3 clicks of a mouse. I hate it when people propagate hearsay or opinion as fact on here. But really, there is no need to move the serial number on the 1301 Comp. If that is causing you loading problems, it's not the gun.
  14. So looks like a P90 is good to go in this PCC division? Unless I missing something.
  15. Stealthy-your butt looks huge on camera. Like the drive by shooting of the two low targets in the beginning. Would that be unsafe to not have it shoulder mounted?
  16. I have asked this a few times of Charles Sole, Mike Sexton, and anybody really. No answer. Because is all I get. It is also a rule at Tarheel 3 Gun. I suspect there was an incident once and nobody wants to talk about it. I learned about it when I was doing my walkthrough at the Remington Versamax Shotgun Match in Atlanta last year and Mike was in my squad. I was looking at the last part of stage which had shots under a fence about mid-thigh high and said" 'I'll just shoot those Steve McQueen style, move and then finish'". I was told that was not allowed and because it's in the rules. Anybody who shoots shotgun enough and practices a lot has shot a shotgun upside down over their head or off their bicep (this in done in matches as well) and is aware of the dynamics. I personally do not have an objection to it and shot several targets with PCC not shouldered at 3GN Regional, because they were right in my face-kind of the way we shoot pistol targets under a table sometimes-just point and shoot. Not sure of the issues to cause a rule.
  17. Do it. It is the raison d'être for pistol caliber carbines. Suppressed or not. Simple to ask permission. If a state has a rule, then that is a problem. From an ATF standpoint they just want to know where it is.
  18. Funny most people (according to the poll) think its a great idea. But you are entitled to your opinion. Pat I thought it was a great idea until I saw no silencers in the rules. Why? I mean 9mm carbine = short barrel, silencer. 16" is for ATF regulations. This is shooting competition.
  19. I pretty much agree with G-Man. Anyway, most people I've seen with PCC pretty much suck, so I'm concerned with the Start position. Is it low ready? I went blind trying to read this thread. If yer gonna go PCC, need to go SBR, because 16" is too long.
