    April Fools

I'm teaching Sarah Bradey and Nancy Pelosi how to shoot AR-15s.
  8. I don't know if this is an April Fools day post or not, but I'm treating it as "not". There are a bazzilon places to air and discuss politics. Let's leave this one 'politics free'. Same thing for religion. Same thing for social issues. To paraphrase Dr. McCoy: "Dammit Jim, it's a shooting forum, not a politics forum!"
  9. Caliber change over on the 650 is not vastly more complicated if you're willing to spend some bucks. I know, I'm set up for 9mm, 38/357, 357 Sig, 40 S&W and 45acp. Except for primer change, change over only takes a couple minutes. Primer changes add a couple minutes, but again, I have two complete primer set ups.
  10. I'm with you. I listen to it at least once during workouts, usually hitting the repeat button several times. If I was a D.I., troops (a.k.a. maggots) would not only be marching to this, they would know the words by heart or they wouldn't get out of boot camp.
  11. There are four common causes for leading in handguns. The first is from the bullets being too soft, so check the hardness of your bullets. The second and third are related to the powder charge. If it's too light, the base of the bullet doesn't seal against the side of the barrel and gases escaping past melt the lead. If the load is too hot, it will cause the bullet base to get hot and melt before it has a chance to clear the barrel. The last is a rough barrel that literally scrapes the lead off the bullet as it passes. Find out which is your problem and you should be able to eliminate or greatly reduce the leading. In the mean time, consider buying a Lewis lead remover.
  12. I'm curious, could weakened springs create this? Is it possible the slide isn't being held as tightly by the recoil spring causing a slight drop in pressure, compared to the lesser used gun????
  13. Sorry for your loss. Be there for your dad, he will need you more than you can know.

    Snake Model

U.S. Government: Send official envoy to speak to snake. After lengthy discussions, Senate and House approve $50 million foreign aid package for the snake. 10 years later, the government declares the snake a terrorist and authorizes the CIA to spend $100 million in search and destroy covert ops.
  15. DT is right on. Brass hammers are malleable so they don't hurt what they hit. Too many 'shade tree gunsmiths' use them to hit a hardened tool, such as a punch and then complain because the hammer deforms. Brass hammers should be used directly on steel parts, not on steel tools. The proper hammer to use on a hard punch is made with malleable iron. As for the punches, consider several kinds. Brass ones are good for certain jobs, but you also need some steel pin punches because a lot of pins are too tight for brass and all you'll do is bend the brass. Punches with hollow ground ends to fit on the round end of a pin are good too. Also, although not encountered often, roll pins require a different kind of punch altogether. Besides Midway, Brownell's is a great source for tools of the trade.
  16. Might want to check out this ad on the AR-15 site. I am NOT affiliated - or even know - the seller, but it sounds like a great deal if you can meet face to face. 650XL
  17. I understand your position. Students usually have limited funds and must be frugal. Just use the case feeder as an incentive to do well in your studies, graduate with honors and get a good paying job so you can afford one. You'll be glad you did...
  18. Of course if you have enough money, anything is possible, but for cost effectiveness, I'm guessing no on all counts. The calibers you are looking at all use larger cases, so even if you could get a really thin walled barrel to fit, you would be looking at issues with the extractor. Then there would be the issues of the magazines. Certain calibers can be easily changed out because they are based on common ground, such as the .40 S&W and the .357 Sig. None of the calibers you mention share anything with the 9mm.
  19. No joke! I got rid of my "Beware of Dog" signs and replaced them with "Beware of Chuck" signs. So far, I've found three would-be burglars dead from fright.

  21. x 2! B.o.B. had much better character development, using the first several episodes to establish the main group, plus give insight into the training of the 101st. Like Dave said, I hope it gets better.
  22. There are a couple of things that come to mind: timing and/or hammer spring, but telling us the make and model of the gun could make things a bit easier.
