  1. Interesting times we live in Atlas. I created a BC wallet in the $400 time frame of BC, but didn't get around to funding it. I would have been nice to be a part of the ride to $20K. Keeping an eye out on what's next on the horizon. From what I've read, the block chain principles of BC are being considered in financial circles as they would negate (or at a minimum significantly reduce) the need for outside, independent review of transactions.
  2. ^^ 1000% Atlas has covered this topic very thoroughly
  3. No complaints with my Brazos Edge. It eats everything I feed it and doesn't complain one bit.
  4. LOL, I'll get one eventually Rob. Unlike a chrono, which I find to be mandatory, the trigger gauge to me is more of a gee-wiz instrument. Either I like the trigger pull or I don't, no amount of numbers on a gauge will convince me otherwise. But, like HP and your GF's boobs, it is fun to compare who has the best with friends.
  5. As some others here recommended, I'd start with a 650 and a set of the Lee Deluxe 4-die set, so that you get the factory crimp die. My reason for buying the 650 over a 550 is for the auto indexing feature. It's really hard to double charge a round on the 650 because it auto indexes; 550 indexes manually. Square D is a decent deal, however you have to use the proprietary dillon dies.
  6. That's the CZ race hammer, same one that they put on the parrot. I purchased this gun used, so not sure if the hammer required any fitting, but there are not any shiny spots, so I would say no. I installed the S2 wide safety (other side has thin one) and it dropped right in. My other TSO is setup very similar, however with factory trigger and hammer. Shooting them back to back, I don't feel any difference in the trigger. I don't own a trigger gauge, so not a very scientific comparison.
  7. The only off the self offering (aside from the parrot) from CZ that includes a comp and optics is the Czechmate. Not a flashy, but a few bucks cheaper
  8. I have both the factory plastic and aftermarket aluminum one, no noticeable difference in pull.
  9. At this point I believe the chrono recommendation was to determine if the round is grossly overcharged, which could be causing the primer to blow out, rather than see if you're making PF. Another very rough way to confirming charge is to look at how full the case is. 3.5gr of CFE should fill less than 50% of the case. If your cases are full to almost full, your powder dispensing or weight measurement is off. I load 9mm to 1.08-1.09 OAL for my CZs, so I'm familiar with the need to load short. I've also taken 124gr bullets to 1400 FPS to make PF in 9mm major and have not had a primer blow yet. If your powder drop is on target, there has to be a component issue.
  10. @carnageasadai would expect any factory 9mm would make minor PF in USPSA. Unless you're shooting at level 2 matches and higher, I doubt you need to worry about PF. Suggest you just shoot that fine pistol you have, get some experience under your belt and then revisit ammo next season.
  11. definitely would not go with a custom ($3K+) 2011 until you figure out if that platform fits your shooting style, well unless your money tree is flourishing much better than mine.
  12. I have and shoot both CZ TSOs and 2011 in .40. Either the TSO or an Edge would be a good start, provided you find a good deal on used ones. TSOs are known for running 100% out of the box, no tweaking mags or changing gun parts. The Edge, not so much; you could be getting a good deal or inheriting someone else's problem. Before making the decision see if you can hold, preferably shoot both, as they definitely have a different feel.
  13. Good thing our sport doesn't require powder drops to be accurate to the hundredth of a grain.
  14. Another vote for Lee resizing/decapping die. The design allows the pin to slide up rather than break when there's too much force applied.
  15. This^^ Even if you double box, if the bullets are too loose and move around they beat up the box pretty good. One of the best packaging jobs I've seen yet is from Brazos. Bullets are vacuum sealed in a heavy duty bag and a layer of 1/2" thick foam material placed between each of the bags. No movement and the fully loaded box (50-60 pounts) arrived fully intact. Outside of box was taped also.
  16. First off, not meeting the rules for your division won't get you DQ'd from the match (unless a safety issue) however you would get bumped to open. I don't think you would be able to use a pin (like TS/TSO/CM have) as none of those pistols are approved for Production. If you tried to argue this was an aftermarket replacement part, you'd be kind of stuck because a pin does exactly the opposite of the part it's replacing. Best bet, IMO is to modify what you have, so it suits your grip. I've seen people grind down the weak side of an ambi safety because it interfered with their grip. As long as the safety is functional, you are still fine. I propose the same logic would work for the slide lock.
  17. From the 2019 Rule book, it appears that you can use aftermarket and/or parts from another production approved (not sure if Rami is or not) gun. 21.6 Exchange of minor EXTERNAL components Sights, firing pins, firing pin retainers, pins, extractors, magazine releases, slide stops, thumb safeties, triggers, hammers, bushings, and ejectors MAY be replaced with OFM or aftermarket parts. Exchange of OFM parts between different models of Production approved guns is allowed.
  18. Aside from capacity (perhaps) what's the advantage for .357 sig in limited? The ones I have shot seem to be quite a bit snappier than .40.
  19. I hope no one went searching for a shock'wave' case gauge it's actually made by shockbottle. The tolerances of the shockbottle may be tighter than a dillon (mine is) however that doesn't necessarily make it better. The advantage is speed. You can case gauge more quickly with the shockbottle than a single case dillon gauge. I've used my shockbottle enough to know how high is too high for my pistols. Just because it doesn't sit flush in the case gauge doesn't mean it won't shoot fine from my guns. I haven't loaded 44 mag. However for 9mm I can tell you that if you're loading 147 (or heavier) bullets if you seat them too deep the bullet will start to bulge the middle of the case, because of the tapered case design.
  20. ^That's the ticket.^ I run the Lee FCD on all of my pistol setups, works great and no swaged bullets for me.
  21. Don't know. In USPSA you don't run to slide lock, so I have a pin (from CZ) rather than a standard slide lock in my TSO's. I understand that other sports (IDPA, perhaps) have different rules/requirements.
  22. Interesting comment about the dust covers of the TS' at Rifle Gear. They indeed appear to be the same as TSO. Another chapter in the ever changing world of CZ design/decision changes.
