  1. Here's an example using 180gr .40 Brazos- 583 bullets per bag @ $42/each. Medium box holds 4 bags and costs $14. So $168 for 2332 bullets + $14 shipping = $182 total or $0.0780/bullet BBI- 2500 bullets for $216 (free shipping) so $0.0864/bullet. Difference is $0.0084/bullet, so a bit less than a cent. And that's if you max out the flat rate box with 4 bags, if not the cost per round will be higher. Not bagging on Brazos, it's just that the shipping cost they have added for 2020 now make them slightly less attractive (price wise) than before. I'd still buy them and don't have any issues with their product or its performance.
  2. Depending upon the required OAL (depends a lot on bullet profile) you'll end up with somewhere between 3.0 and 3.3gr to hit minor consistently. I tested several 147 loads, they are less snappy than their lighter brothers, however didn't like the slow slide speed that resulted from shooting the lower velocity 147.
  3. I've shot quite a few thousand Brazos (9mm and .40) and don't have any complaints. The reason for the odd number bullets per bag is because they package by weight not units/pieces. Not crazy about the changes they are implementing to their shipping policy as you need to understand how many bags fit into a medium box (4) in order to minimize the cost per round. They are still slightly cheaper than some of their competitors, however the gap is much narrower than before.
  4. I see the DWX as a potential 'disrupter' to the limited division, provided the CZ./2011 combo has no achilles heel (unintended limitations) and the 9mm/.40 mag capacity is equal to what the CZ/2011 platforms currently offer.
  5. Dillon refers to it as the 'case insert spring' or part 13 in the pic below.
  6. Thanks Sarge and L..temp for your comments/feedback. I made some adjustments to the camming pin and checked the 'sled' spring (looked fine, i.e. it was in one piece) so put it back together an will see what happens during the next reload session.
  7. I'm familiar with setting the height of the 'camming pin', however how does one verify the wear of the spring under the sled?
  8. They worked fine for me. I have 3 or 4 of them complete with dies and powder drop. Just slide in the tool head, confirm powder drop and I'm set.
  9. I have an extra wide, single sided safety from SV. Perfect fit for my thumb and required next to no fitting on my SV.
  10. I picked up a couple of the ebay tool heads when they were still $15-20. Prices have soared to $25+, which makes the Dillon quick change kit a bit more impressive.
  11. Last season I was using the factory STI trigger in my 2011s. They run fine for my level of proficiency, however I wanted to try out some different makes, if nothing else, just to kill some time since I don't shoot as much during the cold season. I installed an x-line trigger at the same time that I added a steel grip. Part of the allure of using the x-line design was that the trigger shoes could be swapped out, similar to SV triggers. However Atlas is currently showing most of their x-line shoes as being out of stock and geppert (germany) doesn't ship to individuals in the US. Since it doesn't appear that I can easily (at least in the short term) get additional x-line shoes, I started to look at other trigger offerings from SV, Wilson and Fusion to name a few. Looking for feedback/suggestions on these and other 2011 trigger options
  12. Good to know Stuart! Twelve days into 2020 and I'm already planning to raid the toy-fund stash.
  13. I just noticed that the .40 is listed as holding 15-rounds. That's going to be an awfully large basepad extension to get limited shooters to the 20 rounds they have come to expect from a limited gun.

    TSO 40 mags

CZ tube with grams springs/follower + CZC basepad will get your 20 rounds of .40 reloadable. Some folks are able to squeeze in 21. I stick with 20, as it's easier for me to count by 10s BTW, you can buy new TS mags all day long (here in the US) for ~$45 from several places.

    TS to CM

It looks like you did not chop the dust cover. What did you do to allow the comp to clear the dust cover? Nice job, congrats on your skills/patience!
  16. You might be confusing the LSI with PT Evo. The Evo grip is offered in standard, aggressive and extra aggressive textures. As far as I know, LSI only offers 1 texture.
  17. CZ-USA used to advertise a co-witness package deal that included sites and the optic plate. Now that their 'parts' web site is not available (not sure if this is temporary or permanent) I cannot check to see if it is in stock or not.
  18. Good feedback fellas. I had the same issue as the OP.
  19. OP- If your pistol was purchased new, I'd send it back to CZ to figure out what's going on. It is not normal/typical for a TSO to have extractor issues with a new gun and factory ammo.
  20. Anyone running the factory 19-round mag with the +2 factory base pad? I see that Greg Cote has these available for $35.
  21. I received an email from PT about 3 weeks after playing my race shop order, to confirm my options and finalize the build keep in mind this was during the BF sale, so I imagine they were swamped with orders.
  22. I feel that the LSI is a bit more aggressive than the PT ‘standard aggressive’. Haven’t shot the LSI enough to determine if it’s too much of a skin grater. BTW, I noticed that PT offers an ‘extra aggressive’ grip texture when you configure a Honcho in the Race Shop. Didn’t notice this option when looking to buy just the grip by itself
  23. Sharing initial thoughts on both of these fine grips. The Evo (left pic) is aluminum with grippy texture. The provided grip safety dropped right onto my frame with no fitting/filing involved. The mainspring housing was slightly different in dimension from the factory plastic one, as the sear spring required a little bit of adjustment for the hammer to function properly. The Outlaw (right pic) is SS, and slightly more grippier than the Evo. There is a contour below the mag release that the EVo doesn't have, which I expect is there to allow for slightly higher grip. This is similar to the factory plastic DVC grip, but more exaggerated. The grip safety required a few strokes of the file in order to move freely inside the grip. Also, for the particular frame I have it on, it will require some blending in order to match the frame. The grip can be ordered with custom internal dimensions, which I did because this STI frame is slightly wider than the stock specs. I did have to file a bit on the top of the grip to get it to seat fully. Overall very satisfied with both grips. Now the decision is to get them anodized to increase surface hardness, have them coated, or leave them in the white.
  24. Such a nice day here that I chrono'd a few rounds in my Czechmate 10.0 gr Lovex D037.1, Bayou 115gr coated, OAL 1.13, PF 168.88 10.0 gr Lovex D037.1, PD JHP 115gr, OAL 1.11, PF 174.70 The difference in OAL was simply because of bullet geometry/shape, I didn't adjust the seating die when loading these rounds this morning.
  25. Bayou does seem to offer more bullets with the lube groove, however BBI and Brazos also carry a few. I've only loaded .357 for revolver, however it is my understanding that it is best practice to roll crimp bullets bullets with a lube groove, because of the potential to damage coating/plating.
