  1. shock buff in that? ETA I run a 16lb with 175pf
  2. Here's the book, http://www.uspsa.org/rules/2008HandgunRulesindexed.pdf, it's particularly relevant to the thread.
  3. it's in there, just under the 4" 9mm data
  4. You Brits have stood by us when all others have run... How could I not sell to our UK brothers? I just need to get it back and run a few thousand rounds. then I will ship to some friends that load a lot and we will make any needed adjustments. After that we talk to Dillon and see if they want it, if not, then I'll sell direct to you guys. Best JT In the meantime, my 550 priming copy/paste: 550 Priming Assembly Adjustment Notes: Thoroughly polish frame, wherever priming slide touches it, with green Scotch Brite. (Approx. every 3000 rounds) Wipe off Primer Slide with solvent or alcohol. Leave it all dry. At rest primer slide adjustment: Set so that one primer, dropped down the tube, goes all the way into the Primer Seating Cup, 10 times in a row. Angle of Primer Slide Operating Rod (13869) - Release rod from rollers and swivel it 180º so it's pointing straight up - it should be parallel with the Primer Housing Shield, or maybe outward "a little"; it should not be "inward" at all. Be sure both screws (14530) that tighten Roller Bracket Shell Platform (14280) from bottom (to the Shellplate Platform) are tight! Make sure Priming Seating Punch Assembly is fully bottomed out before tightening screw (13996): Measured from bottom of Primer Slide (13920) to top of seated Primer Seating Cup (13284/5), dimension should be between 2.125 - 2.220 inches. Be sure Priming Operating Rod Bracket (13887) is adjusted so it's within a few thousands of an inch from the top of frame/Toplhead. I continue to have enough problems with mine that I watch to make sure a primer is in the cup every time I move the handle. About 2 or 3 out of every hundred fails to pick up a primer. I tweak the rod occasionally and that seems to help for a while. I am curious about the operating rod angle mentioned. Regarding inward and outward. With the rod pointing straight up as mentioned should the end of the rod be pointing to the front or the rear? Mine points to the front probably 5 or 10 degrees. What should I be doing with it? When I tweak I bend it towards the back to a more straight up angle but it seems to make its way back where it started. I know it is this area where my problems are because if I catch it in time I can flick the platform out and it picks up a primer every time. It just is not 100% moving all the way sometimes. Thanks I think I just figured mine out. Having read Brian's tune up several times I just didn't understand the last bullet point. The primer operating rod bracket had worked itself up the magazine over time, I can see now how the rod levers on it. By lowering the bracket closer to the toolhead I've effectively increased the stroke of the rod at the primer slide. I used a .004" feeler gauge to rest the bracket on while I tightened the retaining bolt. It really wasn't that far away from the toolhead, maybe 1/16 of an inch or so. But about 2 out of every 100 primers would fail to get picked up by the slide. I would just reach down and pull the slide until I saw the primer follower move, very tedious. Just loaded a batch with no problems, just like it used too. Thanks Brian, it just took me awhile to get it. Kevin
  5. Try these guys too. http://www.clarkcustomguns.com/ That's Jerry Miculek's wife's family. They might do ok work on a S&W revo ETA these guys http://tenring.com/contact2.html, because your name suggests Texas. Kevin
  6. If it only happens on the last round or two you might try swapping out the recoil spring. Kevin
  7. It's sorta like "getting to the shooting" at the start of a stage, it's just "getting to the pressing" That's good. At least for me that says alot. Kevin
  8. If one is unaware of what to avoid, all one's efforts will be in vain. -Fromm From the Makumozo thread, just seemed relevant. Kevin
  9. I use this one http://egw-guns.com/store/index.php?main_p...products_id=217 Had to blend it into the frame a little, but works great with Wilson 47D's and ETM's.
  10. Is this it? http://www.stageexchange.com/
  11. I wear prescription Raybans, with a polycarbonate impact resistant lens. I wouldn't wear glass, not for anything involved in our sport. This article was helpful for me http://www.6mmbr.com/eyeprotection.html Kevin
  12. "The funny thing (and this is no insult to you) is that 95+% of the time people ask questions like this, read all the responses and then go and do what they originally mentioned even if everybody here suggests a different plan surprise.gif" You know that's true no matter what the pursuit. I used to work in the recreational scuba business. No matter what the answers to the questions were, they still bought the gear they just read about in the latest scuba magazine. Just seems like a funny aspect of human nature. G-man just gave some perfect advice with numbers to match. Sounds like the OP is focused on Baer because of an existing relationship. Considering we both live in CA and getting a hi cap mag to go with that double stack .40 is a problem L-10 is a great choice to play in, single stack as well, and Baer does make good gear for both those divisions.
  13. I just dump them out on wax paper. I heat up the lube in a cup of hot water and use it very sparingly. Shake the bullets around in a plastic container and then dump them out. Next day they're ready to go. I love that stuff, works great for me. edited cuz I can't spell
  14. Here's a link to Norco with a map http://www.uspsa2.org/norco.htm Here's Prado http://www.uspsa2.org/PradoIPSC/index.htm, near the 91 and 71 interchange And then http://isishootists.com/ Kevin ETA that Prado runs IDPA as well, ISI runs IDPA and Steel Challenge in addition to USPSA. There's also a 3 gun club in Piru, X3 multigun.
  15. Hi Shawn. I'm a fellow SoCal guy here, I live in Los Angeles but grew up down your way. The advice given previously to go to some clubs and borrow/try some guns is reallly good advice. There are a few outstanding clubs in the area. Norco was mentioned, also Prado and ISI in Piru. Based on your desire for Les Baer I'd suggest a trip up to Piru, isishootists.com for their schedule. The guy that runs the matches up there is Mike Dalton. He used to be, may still be?, a Les Baer sponsored shooter. He might be able to give you a great perspective on that product line from someone who has competed at pretty high levels in this sport. Even if you don't make it up there, give him a call. Email's not a great way to reach him, but he's a super nice and informative guy. Would definitely be worth the time. I'm sure he'd be happy to help you out. Take care and say hi if you're up at Piru. Kevin
  16. I've got the exact same problem as Sandman. I don't know what to do about it either.
  17. Just to add another vote for the Wilson's. I used 47D's and they were great, now I use the ETM's. Just a little easier to reload with. But like everybody else said, whatever works in your machine. By the way our host has great prices on Wilson mags. Kevin
  18. I hesitate to mention this as it's a little hillbilly. I have a hi-power that was doing that. I used Reynolds aluminum foil as a shim under the front sight and it tightened up quite nicely. Your everyday Reynolds is exactly .0005" thick, I used the heavy duty at .001" thick. Double over for a .002" shim it did the trick. Not a gun I trust my life too or compete with seriously, but it's also never come loose again. YMMV Kevin
  19. http://www.6mmbr.com/gunsafes.html Here's a good article about safes, might help out with the fire rating questions. Wanted to add my vote for the Zanotti, may not have the fire protection you're looking for but its nice to be able to move it by yourself. I have their largest model and the door weighs 175lbs. I can move it by myself with a little creative blocking and a hand truck. Kevin
  20. Here's the Dan Burwell link http://www.burwellgunsmithing.com/M&Ptriggerjob1.htm
  21. Couldn't be happier with my Weber. Stainless grill and burners. If it ever wears out I'd buy it again. Kevin
  22. brunoshooters.com has Federal 205M in stock at $49.95/k
  23. They just shipped me a single case, ordered on 4-8-09.
  24. Just got the email that 5k federal LP shipped today. With hazmat and shipping it worked out to $32/k. No gouging there. Ordered on Apr. 8th. Still waiting on some Win. LR and SR, but I'm happy I'm getting something. Kevin
