  1. I believe the green banner refers to the opposition in Iran.
  2. Called PV today just to confirm my order had made it on the b/o list. Ordered on Apr. 8th were 5k FLP. They had no record of it. After a bit of back and forth on the phone turns out it had been placed under someone else's account with the same name. Just a FWIW you might double check. They certainly aren't happy to hear anyone ask about primers, I didn't even ask for any estimated shipping dates, but it might be worth it to make sure you're in the system. I feel a little better knowing I'm definitely on the waiting list. Kevin
  3. FWIW the Los Angeles public library has a 1959 and a 1965 copy of "Instinct Shooting". It'll take a couple of days to get to my local branch for pickup, but it's still pretty cool. Nice to see some tax dollars helping out my shooting! I might get laughed at for bringing the old Red Rider out to the range next week, but I'm going to anyway. Right after I read the book. Gimme a couple of weeks and it'll be back in the system if anyone else is so inclined. Thanks for the tip Brian. They have a couple copies of Ed McGivern's book as well if anyone in the area is interested. Kevin
  4. Really good to hear. Thanks for posting it. I ordered mine in March. Maybe soon. Kevin
  5. Powder valley has large rifle magnum in stock now. $26/k.
  6. They're Large rifle magnum, but they're still there at the time of post.
  7. I built mine up with JB Weld. It turned out pretty well after a little paint. My IDPA area coordinator looked at it at last years state match and said no problem. FWIW Kevin
  8. I placed my b/o for Fed LP, WLR, and WSR on April 8th. Nothing yet Hope you get something. Guess I'm just glad I got the order in before they stopped taking them. Good Luck Kevin
  9. I would purchase from Brian as well, the price will almost definitely be better. If you need a physical store for some reason Fowler's Gun Room in Orange, Ca stocks Dillon presses and gear. No website however, kinda of a mom and pop place. Great service and knoweldgable. That being said I see no reason why you wouldn't buy from Brian though. The shipping from AZ to San Diego will almost certainly be cheaper than sales tax here if it's a large purchase. Good choice on the Dillon, the presses are the best. Once again Brian's customer service is outstanding. Take care Kevin Fowler's Gun Room (714) 771-3730 358 S Tustin St Orange, CA 92866
  10. I've on b/o at Powder Valley for just a few weeks, but haven't seen any. I really don't expect any for quite some time. If it's by new years I'd be happy.
  11. You'll be in ESP, but I wouldn't worry about the mods. Although they sound ok. Your first match, just have a good time. Nobody's gonna care that much. They'll just be happy to see a fellow shooter. You might even be able to borrow some gear for the match, I've always found match shooters to be pretty generous and kind. Have a good time, I know I always do. Kevin
  12. +1 on clays. 3.9gr 230gr LRN in my 1911, 4.1 230gr LRN in my 625.
  13. FWIW I enjoyed Ed McGivern's book. Checked it out of the library, didn't cost me a dime and had some interesting stuff in it. Take Care Kevin
  14. You can check out ISI in Piru as well, isishootists.com. They have USPSA on the 3rd Sat of every month. Also IDPA on the 2nd and 4th Sat. and steel challenge on the first. They might be a little closer than Norco. Both are great places to shoot with great people.
  15. My revolver won't fire Win. I've lightened the trigger pull to a point where it will only use Federal. I do however use Win in my auto loaders, no problem there. I don't know what the problem is with Fed and the some 550's. My shooting buddy just got a new 550 and his will load them no problem. Wish I knew why. Kevin
  16. I can't get federals to be reliable in my 550 either. I need them for my revo as well. If you figure something out in addition to what you've already done let me know! I've resorted to hand priming all my revo brass before running it thru the press. It takes a little longer but I do get a very consistent primer seat every time. Never a light strike. FWIW my press will run Win primers no problem. Good luck Kevin
  17. They got snow there 365 days a year man!!!! You gotta measure your seasons in elevation, there's a winter but you gotta look up Make sure you check out the manta rays if you get a chance.
  18. I run 3.9 of clays behind a 230 LRN in my 5" single stack, 4.0 of clays in my 4" 625. Don't remember the velocity, but it is definitely above 165 pf. Good Luck Kevin
  19. Do a search on Ebay for Star-D Davidson tripods. I believe they're out of production now, but they are all metal. I got mine for $12.99. It's all aluminum, legs extend out from 2' to 6', I really like it. I got the tip from an article on 6mmbr.com. Good luck Kevin
  20. Springfield Armory makes a mount that mounts to the side of the receiver. I bought one with my rifle. This was several years ago, but at the time it was their 3rd generation mount. I've always been very happy with it, places a weaver rail directly over the action. No problems with ejection that I've ever encountered. It attaches with two large thumbscrews, I did have to retighten them frequently for the first 100 rounds or so. No problems since then. I'm sure their are others out there, you might try Fulton Armory as well. Kevin
  21. FWIW Sierra's 5th edition manual lists 748 for it's 80 and 85 grain projectiles. I have no experience with that recipe though. Good luck.
