  1. There will be more folks with more knowledge than me along shortly. I too have had light strikes. That's why I commented. My problem was primer depth. You're SURE those rounds plunk and spin? I plunk test before I shoot go to the range. Did you? Or only after they failed to fire?
  2. Then, chamber depth. You got a wierd situation. You'd think if it was as short chamber then those rounds wouldn't plunk and spin.
  3. I'm loading on a 1050 too. Dont know now how long you've had yours or what adjustments you've made but mine needed tweaking form factory set up. I think it's chamber or primer depth. Try cranking the primer seating down a little. See if that solves the problem or if not, at least you can check that off as not the cause.
  4. with federal primers I'd think you look at them and they'd go off primer depth? what press you loading them on? Next time see if a s second DA pull will pop them. My guess is short chamber though.
  5. My LP is shooting left. I haven't moved the rear sight yet. Glad I saw this thread. Now if innotice mine is difficult to move, I'll know it's not uncommon.
  6. I agree. There is some logic to it. Most folks aren't going to carry 5 mags of ammo. Or two extras for that matter.
  7. Yeah. That's a reload with retention. That is legal. The speed reload is to dump the mag with a round in the chamber (not at slide lock). That's too gamer and therefore illegal. Because in real world, you'd want to go to a new position with empty mag but one in the chamber, start to engage multiple targets, but after one round you gotta reload. So, now the multiple bad guys have been made aware that you're there and since you only fired one round and now are empty, you gotta reload while they're returning fire. This is not a sound tactic but IDPA can't allow the speed reload because it'd be too USPSA so they basically go against their own "Fundamental Principles". At least that's how I see it. In a real life situation I'd want to be dumping/replacing the magazine, while still having a round in the chamber, when moving behind "cover". Oh well. The rules are the rules.
  8. I read that to say you CAN make mods to the internal portion of the mag well. (e. g. flare) The last sentence makes it seem like as long as you're not doing anything to the outside.
  9. Do it and let us know how it works.
  10. I've thought about polishing the magwell. Never done it. Don't think it'd be illegal. Though, if it's really even possible and you could get it looking like wet chrome I bet you'd get questions thinking you removed material.
  11. Yes! Buuutttt.... if they allowed for that, it'd be a little closer to USPSA and I think the consequences would be two fold. The first would be more USPSA shooters would (maybe) shoot IDPA and they would be better than most if the middle of he pack IDPA shooters. That would piss them off, they'd whine, and we'd get another change. The other would be more IDPA shooters would shoot USPSA and they'd get better then come back and do what I listed above. Then some of them wouldn't come back to IDPA and then the memebership would go down. Two extreme examples but I think that's what might happen. Or at least they think it could.
  12. No. That's a "speed reload" and will get a PE.
  13. Not to be confused with the CGW trigger pin for the CZ. While it does fit, it will work itself out. Ask me how I know.
  14. I'm also comparing my CZ to my new Lim Pro. I think I'm gonna like it a little more than the CZ but I'm still in that new car phase with the Tanfo. Still want to do the accuracy side by side.
  15. I've read that Tanfos don't have the problems with these parts breaking like CZ's are said to. Seems like if the CZ is prone to breaking these parts, the tanfo would be too? What says the panel of tanfo gurus?
  16. Why? She does shoot a Glock in competition so,..... OP - the IDPA nationals is won every year by Bob Vogel. He's also a top competitor in USPSA.
  17. I've had two light strikes with 12# and win primers in DA. 100% using S&B. I was asking because you're trigger pull is over 1.5# more than mine with the same parts.
  18. Maybe ya already been said, I'm not going back and read all previous post, have you polished all the internals on you gun? I'm using a 12# PD and I'm under 5# DA.
  19. Hope not. Fingers crossed they'll use the same sticks they'll already have in the shed for USPSA matches. Though, the guys setting up the IDPA stages are probably not the guys setting up the USPSA stages. Even at the same club. Ropes might get used since they'll be easier! Sticks provide feel. Who wants to look down?!
  20. MM, just put those bad boys back on the 650 and seat the primers a little deeper! Then you can go with a lighter DA!
