  1. I've shot two monthly matches in the last two weeks. Neither club used the new rules. They're still holding on for hope that fault lines are gonna go away. If they don't use them next match, I'll quit shooting there. they keep saying "until I have a hard copy of the rules in my hand, were not using fault lines".

    LOVE shadow

Shadows are sweet! So easy to shoot! Love the diamond backs too!
  3. I'm no expert but everything I've heard/read says that coated bullets smoke no matter what. Using a hot powder like TG makes it worse. TG has been accurate for me. It's just dirty and hot. I moved on to N320 and now Prima V. Prima V is cheaper than TG. Clays was always good to me too! Actually, Clays is probably my favorite. Or was. It got very difficult to find for a while and the stuff now may not be the same. So I've heard on the interweb. Buy a sample pack pack of BBI or bayous. I think you like them.
  4. I like bayou too. I don't like Blue Bullets. It's not that I would stay away. I just would choose others first. Tite group makes them smoke more in my opinion. So, you might try another powder. If you're not tied to TG for some reason.
  5. I've always liked Acme and BBI. Out of all the ones I've tried I like those two best.
  6. Remove some material from each side of the trigger bar? Its really not worth it to spend anymore time on this. Ha ha.
  7. I think it's the other way around. It it feels like the CZ's have the shorter reset. My orange seems to have the shortest. To me I think it's a hand size in relation to the grip and trigger placement. I'm moving my finger the same distance as I would on the CZ but if the trigger is further forward, then the reset would be further forward, even if it resets only moving 3 mm like the CZ. That 3 mm is further forward. Anyways, I plan on dry firing and letting my finger out further just before it goes into DA. I'll eventually learn where that point is and all will be well! Now, gotta work on reloads with the Tanfo. I gotta admit, it is a little more difficult than the CZ. I thought everyone was just making that up.
  8. Gonna be close. I weighed some stock magazines last night. They weighed 3.8 oz. thats 45.5 oz. that's with the hemming guide rod How we gonna loose 2.5 oz?
  9. I too have been short stroking the SA on my Tanfo. Never had had an issue on the CZ. The rest is very close to the Tanfo. I'm guessing it's because the smaller grip caused me to naturally move my trigger finger further out. Idk? Anywyas, I also plan on doing some live fire speed shooting practice! 10. I'd think dry firing with the safety on would mess up the sear or the safety and maybe the sear/hooks? You basically just have to dry fire and try to no let the trigger reset for the DA pull. But like Memphis said, you don't go out far enough and you'll be building in the habit and may end up short stroking the SA. Gotta find that point where you stop just before resetting the DA. That'll be the best anyways because in live fire you'll end up with the finger off the trigger since it will have reset in SA. Clear as mud?
  11. So, Harrison's sight isn't a weight savings. I called Dawson. They don't make anything for the LPA in a fixed sight.
  12. This is more of a novelty for the guy. It's a look thing. My LP will be at the edge of the weight limit so the S3, if under 43 oz, won't be any heavier. So, I called John Harrison w/Harrison designs. He makes sight to fit I. The Tanfo cut (LPA). He said it weighs 1.1 oz. Anyone know what the factory adj sight weighs?
  13. Well, that makes weight! That has to be a typo? Have you replaced a lot of parts? My Lim Pro weighs more than that.
  14. two questions. 1. Johnbu - are lavas lighter than the stock wood grips? They seem extremely light. Can't imagine anything being lighter. 2. Anyone know what the cut is for the rear? I know jack crap about sight cuts but it looks like the rear sight is just like every other adj rear sight
  15. Well, I might be pissing in the wind but I didn't think it had the longer beavertail. My understanding is that is the same beavertail as the Lim Pro.
  16. The S3 does NOT have a cone barrel. Its the same same length as the Lim Pro.
  17. Showed a friend my LP last night. Told him there was another Tanfo (S3) that has the same length barrel/slide and was heavier. He said he wanted one for IDPA. I told him with all the new parts coming out for these it MIGHT be possible. No after market base pads. He'll need the PD guide rod. Smaller single thumb safety. Stock FP. Stock FPB. Stock wood grips. What does a magazine weigh with stock base pad? Anyone know what a bine stock S3 w/mag weighs? I think it'd be funny to show up to an IDPA match with a S3 and it be leagal. Talking SSP so no lighting of the frame/slide. You think its possible?
  18. Yeah. I put the 13# HS in last night. I also put the stock return spring back in so the DA pull went up about a full pound to right at 6#. I want a more positive return. Waiting to get the barrel reamed. I'm holding off making anymore changes until that's done. When I measure the primer depth I'm getting .005"-.008". I think getting the barrel reamed will solve my light strike problems!
  19. Actually out of 500 rnds that's the first in SA. I've had maybe 5 in DA.
  20. "Shit'll buff out!" -Joe Dirté Yeah. Gotta love bulk range pickup brass!
  21. Here's a pic of the light (single action) strike. Off center and really light dimple. So, no I'm not crushing the primers when seating. Wouldn't this mean this round wasn't fully chambered?
  22. What do you see? Pass or fail? Couple of things. Looking at a zoomed in, it looks like the case mouth isn't even all the way around. (range pick up). On the waiting list to get barrel reamed! Shooting tonight I had a light strike in SA. I'm using Sellor & Bellot primers. 12# PD hammer spring. Titan/bolo/PD opt FP. No FPB in gun I did not plunk before shooting. This test was done after. It did plunk and spin after the light strike. From the looks it has to be hitting the rifling, right?
