I think you can get them from EAA, but with their price increases in the past year, you would be better off trying to find a complete gun.

Which fiber-optic front is best. Henning, EAA or Dawson
pivoproseem replied to Intercooler2's topic in Tanfoglio (EAA / IFG)
Thanks to lyksyotas, I bought his spare sight. I also got help from Daniel at Dawson, he took a customer service issue by the horns and got a sight to me, too. So both my 9mm and .40 Match guns will now be sporting Dawson sights. Thanks guys! -
Yes, I have two, one in 9 and one in .40. Great guns.

Which fiber-optic front is best. Henning, EAA or Dawson

I got a call from Dawson, again, while I was out of the office. It may have been a miscommuncation about the set screw location...... I may be interested if I can't get results form Dawson, thanks! -

Holy crap, I tried to order a front sight from Dawson and specified that it needed to have the factory set screw location......but no, what they had in stock used the center location with the useless, small set screw. When I talked to them on the phone, they weren't much help except to tell me they didn't have one and acted like they didn't make one. Anyone have a pic of a Dawson that uses the factory set screw location so I can email it to them? -
Have you thought about having the barrel recrowned? What kind of cleaning regime do you have?

"Pivo, prosim" is the most important Czech phrase to know....not the best Czech beer but nice and fresh from the tap in Prague...

There are 2 CZ stores, the one you want to go to is at Opletalova 37, right off Václavské náměstí. The magwells they sell there are tough to get here. They are better looking than what CZ custom makes. The t-shirts are cheap enough. I went in there many times when I lived in Prague. Be sure to go to the Army Museum and up to the National Memorial.

It's not really seen much in 3 gun here, but the Baikal Mp-153 is an option. They were sold by Remington as the SPR453. They are sub- $400..I've seen them as low as $316 shipped from Bud's. They'll take 930 bolt handles and certain 870 extensions. I run one in the very, very, limited amount of 3gun I do. They have a huge loading port. Mine runs 100% on 3 1/4 dram stuff, chokes on the walmart Federal bulk pack stuff. They are supposed to run just about anything once broken in well. Here's one being run in Russia...http://youtu.be/iULYoMl02kE

Current model steel Witness. Front slide cuts and square profile slide, along with the font style show that it is the most recent model.

CZ Compact Shadow line would be a superb gamer gun,........ ~if~ it fits the BUG gun rules. Isn't there a weight limit? others..... Steyr S-A1 Grand Power P1

How to get rid of the stacking feeling in Tanfo
pivoproseem replied to eerw's topic in Tanfoglio (EAA / IFG)
I've only owned SA Tanfos. I know the stacking is attributed to the short hammer spring, but what is the exact cause? Friction? Spring bind? I wonder if you modified the hammer strut (I think these parts are round that go through the spring) to reduce contact area with the spring, would it make an improvement? The CZ part, while longer is also has a rectangular cross section so only the edges contact the spring. I guess you could load the spring with grease, too, to see if it has an effect. I also wonder if a different shaped trigger would change perception of the trigger pull quality. The severe curvature most cause some changes to the way it feels through the travel arc. I know I hate the really curved CZ triggers that come stock in the regular SP-01..... -
CAI-imported Grand Power K-100..?
pivoproseem replied to ck1's topic in "Other" & Pistol Comparisons
What is the status of GP pistols, didn't Century drop them from importation? I hope EAA doesn't pick them up....I don't own one, but if I were to by a poly- framed gun, it'd be on the short list. -
Is anyone looking for a Stock II? I know where some are
pivoproseem replied to Nealio's topic in Tanfoglio (EAA / IFG)
I've shot IDPA with an older 9mm Match. It barely made weight, but fit in the box. I would bet the Limited Pro is just a bit heavier, -
daaaaaaaaaayum.

Mink is using a holster made by a local guy, they are on Matt's website under RLN Custom Gear. I think they are made from some of the thickest kydex available.
-
What brand of bullets are you using? I had terrible buildup using Precision black bullets....no problem with BBIs and Bayous.

Matt Mink uses one of this guy's holsters. He makes IWB models too. RLN Holsters orderyourgear@gmail.com

CZ has a bit larger grip. I've owned both... the CZ is just a little bit bigger, and has a longer barrel.
-
From my understanding, the short, transverse hammer spring design is a limit on trigger quality and won't ever be as nice as a CZ trigger with a more traditional hammer spring orientation.
-
I refinished mine with Moly-Resin, made sure to coat the inside of the frame and the rails on the slide. Oiled with something synthetic, made it pretty slick.

i am looking at the 2011 pistol designs
pivoproseem replied to mese341's topic in 1911-style Pistols
Buy a CZ Tactical Sports, Tanfoglio Limited, or STI Edge in .40 and spend some of the money you save for a awesome press and reloading setup and lots of components. You'd have to be insane to drop that kind of cash on a gun and be worried about ammo cost. -
Yeah, I still might say "eff it" and go shoot IPSC Nats instead. I'll see how much I suck shooting the SP-01 on Sat. I haven't shot a big match with it since Area 4 2010 and only a few USPSA matches since then. It used to be my "go to" gun when I shot IDPA.
