  1. I think the .40 Match is a better choice for starting in Limited. SA trigger, replaceable front sight, beefier slide....not to mention better fit and finish, Would make a good "nightstand" gun ,too since it has a rail for a light.
  2. If you're not planning on shooting production, there's no reason to buy a Stock III. The Limited has a cone-lock barrel and a lighter slide and I really think they've got the same length barrel.
  3. How about one of these brakes? http://www.srvv.org/en/catalog/1317/29860/
  4. Major PF and Clays is an iffy proposition, unless case head separations are something you enjoy... I've shot many pushed by Solo 1000 without issues, little smoke and accurate.
  5. They sometimes require a ridiculous amount of force to move....you need a bigger hammer and a brass punch.
  6. Anyone? Seems like a cheap way to scratch the 6in. gun itch....I bet the damn thing weighs more than my CZ Standard IPSC, "fat-free" it's not. How's the balance? I'm tempted to try one out for a while, even though I doubt I could shoot it any better than the gun I have now.
  7. The gun will operate just like a CZ-75... DA/SA, no decocker. Some photos I've seen appear to show the gun is a "small frame" pistol.
  8. There's no real need for .40, unless you want to shoot Limited major in USPSA. A magwell+shorter grips and an SA trigger would transform it into a capable gun. Otherwise, stick with 9mm. I have two .40 Tanfos, and one 9mm. Both of the .40s have been used for USPSA and the 9mm was used for IDPA. You can always buy another top end in a different caliber if you want....

    CZ 75B

85 Combat trigger thin front FO sight and CZ competition rear CZ comp hammer VZ grips 11 lb recoil spring 13 lb hammer spring, 15 lb for 100% reliability.
  10. A barely shot Standard IPSC I picked up last week... ..you need to stop the aperture down, meaning a higher f-number.
  11. I've not done it, but you grind off the checkering...slowly and carefully...the trigger guard and back can be undercut some, too. Take a look at the CTS CZ custom does and the Checkmate, which is a modified TS frame.
  12. I've shot the 125 HAP bullet through my SP-01....found them to be incredibly accurate. I think I used Titegroup or clays behind them.
  13. Yeah, a change of technique is in order....a little less force. I've had an Sp-01 for 6 years, never had any of my mags come apart unless I diassembled them.
  14. You can probably call EAA..they should have some. Tanfoglio.it won't ship them to you anyway....
  15. The rubber grips are pretty fat. You could cut them down to fit. I've done it once with a small frame open pistol.
  16. Do you have an extended firing pin in your 85?
  17. The Stock 3 is a nice looking gun and everything, but the Limited Pro would be just as good, I think. I have an older Match 9mm with a Supersight that I use for IDPA ESP, and it is a ridiclously soft shooting gun. I'm just not sure I could ever like the trigger shape of the DA Tanfos, as it seems very similar to the recurve CZ triggers that I hate. I have no idea why CZ wanted to mess with the original shape of the 75 trigger.
  18. The Brain Fart Theatre has a showing at 1pm on stage 5.... I'm actually leaning toward saying "effit" and not even showing up, not exactly feeling like I want to at the moment. Maybe I'll change my mind in the morning.
  19. What about 1pm shooters? I won't be there at 7am. get there around 7:00 am., start shooting at 8:00 am
  20. Beretta 92s do not use the Browning short recoil system like the TS does, so it would seem to recoil differently, I suppose.
  21. From what I've tried out, it seems the 130-135 grain bullets are the best for the CZ...they work better for me with Clays and Solo 1000.
  22. You could always have a top end built for one of your frames. EAA sells a 6in barrel, Canyon Creek Custom does a bit of Tanfo work....
  23. I hope to make this match next year! I'd highly recommend the Czech Republic for a travel destination to anyone.
