  1. I've heard Rubber City Armory will have some in stock in the next week or two. They look really, really nice and have a nitride finish on them. I've got one coming for my match gun. Not sure if they will still be in stock by the time I receive mine though.
  2. I think the Deltapoint with Triangle is just perfect for SG. Top of the triangle at 50, bottom at 100 and centered on the target between.
  3. Alright Pat, whatcha got there and who did it?
  4. The ones I have don't breathe at all. They feel slick and when they get sweaty on the inside downright slimy. They heat up a lot faster then cotton or Techwearusa. They feel a lot like a garbage bag to me. Again I don't know if they changed their fabric or if I got a bad set. I'd almost bet that's the case or they wouldn't be popular at all.
  5. I've had both. Gemini and Techwearusa. I don't know if Gemini changed their fabric but the one I feel looks good but feels like wearing a garbage bag. Doesn't breathe at all. I've never designed anything. I'd just call Techwearusa and tell them what you want. They work with you to get whatever you need.
  6. Not for SCSA. Then it wouldn't be clear. Just show clear and holster or case. No need to dry fire anymore.
  7. Take a look at the picture above. The barrel is compensated. Now take a guess as to how much actual barrel there is. Combine a really short barrel with 170 PF Major in IPSC and it's an angry little gun. They are also really hard to get to run right. There are only a handful of smiths in the US that have tried to take them on.
  8. I would say it is based on the US part of USPSA. I don't think it matters in this case. I can't find infomation on this gun being available anywhere, except for the prototypes here in the US. No offense to your research skills but if FNH sold 2k to a foreign police agency I doubt you or I would know that. FNH said they made 2k. If it turns out they didn't and lied I'm sure that would be very bad for them. Why risk it? Dave would have won with the short one also. It doesn't make any sense to me.
  9. All non USA members of USPSA have an "F" in their USPSA member number. Plus, IPSC (only) members have to ask for an invite form to shoot here, and get a sign off from their home country's IPSC RD. (that may be match level specific, I'd need to look that up) Just brainstorming, but I think we can find a way to let our foreign friends shoot, without leaving a loop hole for a factory shooter to run a prototype gun that other USPSA shooters can't readily get. That is a good question. I was thinking of a foreign shooter I know. He's a Canadian but he has a residence in Arizona that he stays in often. Say about half the time. Not sure what his number is. But beyond the match registration thing, Do we want to require RO's to memorize two sets of Production legal guns, and then have to inquire about the shooters member number and/or Nationality before allowing them to shoot a stage in Production? Does it really matter?
  10. All USPSA members are, by default, IPSC members. Not sure I'd want to try policing where different members lived, What measure should the BOD use to determine whether a gun is generally available to the public? This question has come up recently. Not wanting to mention the gun control debate but it's related here. Some jurisdictions will likely make certain Production compliant guns accessible to only LE/Military customers. Should those groups be considered the public for purposes of this? I'm thinking in the hypothetical here. Say Glock decides to sell only to LE/Mil customers in CA, NY, and say CO. Are those guns no longer generally available there? Should the Production list vary by state? I don't want to dumb down the divisions to meet the criteria of a few states. I don't think it's healthy for the sport. What does the Enosverse have to say about how we can deal with it. Sorry if this is a bit of thread drift on this.
  11. So why only in the US? I made this argument recently. We open our sport to competitors from outside the US as well. What happens to the competitor that has a gun regionally available in their country and that is the only type of gun they can get. (I'm thinking about Russia whih has some pretty specific regs). Say there are 100,000 of them made in that country but they aren't available for export. Is it really that no of a deal to let them compete? I can see an issue if its some major game changing evolution in gun design. But that's not what we're talking about here. A bunch of people in this thread talk about how the FNS isn't that impressive. I've shot Dave's gun and I liked it. It's a decent gun. But it's certainly not anything that's going to make me swap out my Glock at this point.
  12. It was a pretty unpopular division in IPSC. The guns are a handful to shoot and can get very expensive. Like make an Open gun look cheap expensive. Originally it was meant to be a division for reasonable open guns. Same size as Standard but you could add comps and Optics if you could fit them in the box. It never came to the US because we don't have a standard box and at least in my opinion it was a silly arbitrary standard to determine legality and practicality by the ability to stuff it in a box. I'd be willing to bet that most of the people who want modified back have either never fired a modified gun or have one they built and can't sell. Just a guess though.
  13. That is my question. Why are Ported Chokes banned in the other divisions. Is the answer to give more advantage to Open shooters? Yeah. To try and even out the equipment in Lim/Tac Ops. No comps/optics on the SG, limited round counts. The ported chokes are treated like a comp. The purpose isn't to provide additional advantage to the Open shooters but to try and allow the Tac Ops guys to compete without having to pay to cut holes in their barrels or buy additional equipment.
  14. I asked John about it. He said the only way the gun would have been put on the list is if FNH submitted the paperwork saying they had made 2k. I will say I've seen these guns for over a year in the hands of team shooters. I know FNH has released some guns in Europe and other overseas locations before the US before. Not sure if that's the case here but we don't require manufacturers to open their log books to prove the 2k number. It's an honor system.
  15. Because they provide an advantage. Just like comps and optics do in Open. Why would they not be in Open?
  16. There are options for no shoots around steel. . Use a steel no shoot target in front or you can put paper no shoots near but either side by side with (watch for splatter) or just behind which normally works better.
  17. Anybody have any ideas how to remove the Armalite DCM float tube? This is the one that goes under what look like A2 handguards. It's a steel tube that goes under the handguards. I need to swap uppers and forends for a guy and I'll be danged if I can get this thing off.
  18. As currently envisioned, the match will comprise 11 stages requiring a minimum of 158 rounds of rifle ammunition, 126 rounds of pistol ammunition, and 101 rounds of shotgun ammunition (87 birdshot, 14 buckshot). This is always subject to change, but probably not much at this stage. Buckshot means 00-buck only for 12ga only, or #3-buck only for 20ga only. No slugs this year. Local ammo availability, including shotshells, is currently very sporadic. That may or may not change in the ~6 weeks between now and the match. There is a BassPro, a Sportsman's Warehouse and numerous WalMarts between the airport and the range, plus a Cabelas in Glendale (the opposite direction - maybe an hour from the range outside rush hour). How are the round counts determined? 1 round per paper or two?
  19. How big is the gas port now? I did have a barrel with an undersized port.
  20. Sounds like you are under gassed. First thing I would check would be what Kurt suggested. How did you center it over the gas port? Got a pic of the gas block?
  21. Mpolans. Do you know how the SRTS works? how the modification is done? I would have agreed with you as well till I figured out how it was done.
