I like front strap and the bottom half of the left grip to be EXTRA grippy. Grip tape, very aggressive checkering etc etc. The rest of the gun can be smooth, it doesn't matter to me. As for cosmetics, I really like the Davidson's horned lizzard grips. They're COOL.

I have yet to shoot a match with the possibility of a cash return and the idea would not influence my participation one way or the other. I get a LOT out of every match I shoot, from the camaraderie of fellow shooters to developing and improving my own skills. Don't forget the FUN, either. No prize check, or lack of, will change the match for me.

They're the just plain round. The round to square conv grips are much bigger and the ultra compact are like boot grips.

The Street Combat is a great holster for carry. I have one myself. I don't like it for competition though because it doesn't have a reinforced opening.

My home IDPA club: Indoor range $10.28 to the range, $5 to the club for members, $6 for non-members Members only Outdoor range $20 for shooters who are NOT a member of the range or the club, $15 if a member of one or the other, $10 if a member of both club and range. I'm not sure how much of that the range gets.

Not a damn thing wrong with a tweaked SA Loaded model. Trigger job, springs and some grips that you like and you're good to go. But, I've owned a few dozen Springfields, Kimbers and Colts and none of them have/had the "feel" of a Baer or Wilson built gun. The refinement just isn't there. When I pick up one of my Springfields, it feels good but when I pick up a Baer or Wilson, I feel lust in my heart.

I just put 250rds of WW Wildcat through my new Ruger 22/45. It only took 10rds to sight in the TruGlo 30mm red-dot as the windage was dead on out of the box. Not one single malfunction of any kind. It ran 100%. All I did was clean and oil it before shooting. On the 25yd plate rack at the Haltom City Rifle and Pistol Club, it was like cheating. I could just about pull the trigger as fast as I wanted and not miss. The 3rd Sunday in December Plate Match will not come fast enough for me. Anyone else using a rimfire with optics for steel?

Paul, sorry to hear you're feeling so poorly, it especially sucks during the holidays. As for a remedy, a lot of the above looks promising. I haven't experienced it myself but I'm told that if you get hit in the face with pepper spray, EVERYTHING in your sinus cavity will be ejected. You'll have the clearest head in town.
