I think the stainless magwell on the blue/black gun also works well. That's how my Norinco is set up.

I pulled an old rifle case out of the closet that I haven't used in about a year. There were SIX 30rd AR mags in it. Merry Christmas to me!

Shot a little homegrown action pistol match today. Rules were pretty loose and only 2 divsions. Single Stack and Double Stack. Concealment required like IDPA but all mags loaded to whatever they'd hold. Speed reloads allowed, IDSA targets and 8 points required to nuetralize each target. All hits scored major, regardless of caliber. On the 5th stage, there were two mandatory reloads. 6 shots strong hand, reload, 6 freestyle, reload, 6 weak hand. I won the stage with my skinny gun. It was fun.

I just filled my truck in Hurst Texas for $1.32 per/gallon.

I put a simple white stripe dead center in the magwell to draw my eyes to it. Seems to work pretty well. I use ladies french tip nail polish (wife's idea) and it's tough as nails, pun intended.

Thanks for the heads-up on the Rem ammo. In regards to cheap ammo that works, I've had great results form the BRASS cased Monarch in the green packages. It's been very accurate and so far, 100% reliable after about 300rds of it.

I was burned out towards the end of last year and on into this spring. I kept shooting anyway. Oddly, the less I cared about it, the better I did at the match. I started playing different games and that helped me quite a bit. Shooting the same stuff over and over gets pretty boring for me. Finally, I did quit for about a month and loaded a whole seasons worth of ammo during that time. It helped me find the desire again.

You're going to have to clear it with the Match Director. There may be additional match fees and or range fees required also. I have shot two different guns in a match a few times but it's not as much fun as you'd think. It's WORK.
