  1. That's what I was hoping against. Or feedback on anyhow. Funny how some do, and some don't as previously stated by the poster above you. Slop in the QC? I have the dawson ice magwell and it wouldn't work on one frame. Put magwell on another frame which is an older gun and it worked no problem. My newer frame had two little tabs in the empty backstrap area, the older one didn't. I guess not all Glock frames are the smae in the QC dept. and some minor modifications are necessary sometimes.
  2. Pretty soon, I'm gonna be throwin rocks at the targets!
  3. i agree... Doesn't the current classification system bump you if you are sandbagging and you place higher than your current class? I know someone who got bumped for finishing first B holding a C card at an area match.
  4. You can't be forced to use strong/weak hand only shooting in a non-classifier stage, that is what freestyle is. But a course designer can make it advatageous for you to shoot strong/weak hand only by making it hard to lean around a wall or barricade. There are quite a few classifiers that make you move. If you are not happy with the classifier stages, make one up and submit it to the powers that be.
  5. VV N540 would be my first choice, then Varget, then H4895, not IMR4985. N540 and Varget don't heat up the barrel as much as H4895 does. I tried RL15, but too dirty for me.
  6. Big thanks to all the staff that put on the match also. It was definately worth the drive to get there. I even got to get a In-N-Out double-double burger after the first day of shooting. Man I miss those bur gers!
  7. Who is TMC? Will the results be posted on USPSA website?

  10. I just bought them last month and they were $240 per case. Ouch, I better get a second job so I can shoot.
  11. Emailed NROI, here's what Amidon said... Hello, I have a question regarding magazine base pad extensions for production handguns. Appendix D9 say maximum magazine lenght = NO. Special condition 21.1 read no weighted attachments allowed to magazine. If you have the Arredondo 140mm base pads(mag only loaded with 10 rounds), is this considered production legal? Response... No, it is considered a weighted attachment to the mag which under 21.1. John Amidon VP USPSA Director NROI Also, I don't think you would be able to use a G18 mags since that gun is not on the approved list for production.
  12. Sergio blew it on the first playoff hole. I hate it when they start to stencil the name of the winner. But good for Padraig.
  13. Is a 2x4 support for a wall going from 3' high to the ground at a 45 degree angle considered part of hard cover or does it not exist like the target sticks?
  14. Upcoming Golden Bullet Championship has quite a few unloaded handgun starts. Unloaded in holster, briefcase, box type stuff.
  15. Is a 2x4 as a side support for a wall considered to be hard cover also? And regarding grease rings, isn't it not a hit if the hole is twice the diameter of the bullet, i.e. no keyholing or debris passing through target?
  16. I can see why the 3# rule was proposed, but don't think it is enforceable. Also, there are too many gun types and I think it would create further problems with certain guns being able to have one pull weight on first DA shot and lower pull after its in SA. I think production shouldn't be an equipment race, but you should be able to "tune" your gun the the best that it can be.
  17. I proposed the question because I drive a lot to get to "local" matches. I wanted to get an idea how far people drive to go shoot. Not big matches, no sectional, area, national, or special event matches. Just your typical 5 stage 1 classifier stage 125+ round count match. I typically drive 240+ for local match. Usually 2.5 ~3 hours one way. Many of the shooters were I go are local (45 minutes or less) and when I ask them why don't they come over and shoot at the range that is closest to me, they mostly respond with "it's too far". Sure you have a choice of distance you are willing to travel. I just wanted to see what the limit people are willing to drive is and what are some of the motivatinig factors to make the trip.
  18. I've seen this happen before. That was a big decision in my purchase of a chrono with replaceable shootiing screens. So you killed a chrono, welcome to the club.
  19. All LDA models, except the ones with enlaged magwell are legal in production. Looks like the magwell is on the tac-five, but if you take it off, why not? I have never shot a DAO para, I wonder about the trigger too?
  20. Arrendondo's. Quick and easy to install/remove for cleaning and they hold up well.
  21. I just chrono'd some loads, I think I like the 5.3 gr. load and will stick with that. I am loading my bullets a little longer than you however. here are my results... range results
  22. I didn't mean to stir up the pot. I just wanted to know what is going on? I would like to know if there is going to be a website with the club schedules. I don't want to have to call the match directors (especially early in the morning) every time to see if a shoot is happening before I drive 100+ miles. We have enough enemies being gun owners who like to shoot as it is. We don't need to make problems amongst ourselves. I just want to shoot and I hope the different clubs can get together and schedule matches to give the most shooting opportunities for all to enjoy. I try and make it to every match I can. Too bad my radiator just started to leak and I don't think I can make it over to the CCS match this weekend.
  23. So I am getting the consensus that most people are willing to drive over 100 miles or around a 2-2.5 hours one-way to get to a match, but the match has to have 6 or more stages. I like the idea of paying the extra $5 to shoot again. I myself usually drive 100+ miles to the closest range round-trip. Every other club is almost 240-380 miles round-trip. During this past winter/spring I drove to CA just to go shoot. I was tired of shooting in the cold snow covered ranges up here.
