  1. Clubs are supposed to have the classifier results in by the 10th of each month. I'd say 2 months is way too long, must be something else going on. Clubs can mail them in or upload them to USPSA.
  2. To me it seems softer than other brands. I noticed that it also seems to tarnish/discolor faster if not picked up right away. Also when reloading, if the primer doesn't want to come out or go in, its just not worth it to me to use it for reloading. If I have to stop every 8~10 rounds and clear press and then check each station and start over, not worth it. I don't throw it away but I seperate out my brass and when the "junk" (stuff I don't want to use) gets full I take it the club and let someone who wants to use it take it.
  3. Is it made by ATK or sold by? I've read that it is made in Brazil.
  4. The *I* headstamp is Independence brand ammo. Junk, I throw it away, along with the A-MERC.
  5. I like the idea of the brass. Supposedly there is a little bit more rim like a super comp, but for 9x19. I asked if I could buy some brass and it was a no go. And the OAL has to be shorter than 1.169" since it will work in Glock magazines. SJC is using it to test fire their guns as well. But if you want the loaded ammo it is $275 per 1K + shipping($29 where I live).
  6. Mixed brass can do that. And just because you picked it up doesn't mean it has been once fired. Some ammo manufacturers use once-fired brass as well. Try using the same headstamp for brass when working up a load, then see how different brass changes your expected results.
  7. Perfect Practice by Saul Kirsch, just got my hands on it, borrowed it from a buddy. I agree, it's hard to tell if your doing something right, best bet is to find a "mentor" to help you out, even if you can't afford to fling as much lead as you would like.
  8. $125~175 for trigger job (depends on what you want) $100~300 for sights (install dawson adjustable vs. burried bo-mars) $75 for custom fit barrel + price of barrel ($100-200) I think it would be a little cheaper than buying it from custom shop. But I think all you really need is dawson sights and a trigger job.
  9. I don't think the any frame modifications or the extended beaver-tail would be allowed. In 2008 the grip stipling would be OK. Why not just get a XD Tactical and send it to Springer Precision or Canyon Creek?
  10. It should be legal as long as you do not have any of the frame modifications done. You can have the sights burried into the slide. The trigger work is allowed, rebarrel if you want. Just don't put a magwell on it. NROI Ruling about burried sights
  11. Sold it, but working on getting another one. Street legal YZ450F!
  12. 6" slides in Limited have been around for years. It's a trend alright. I blame the evil temptations of Benny Hill for this situation Exept in this case, it is not Benny - Al Zitta of ZM Weapons crafted TJ's 6" slide....it is about a week old..... I do know that Todd has a six inch Ultimatch (LU40CNM0 - Bull Barrel) from Schuemann in that new gun! Benny normally uses the LC40CNM0 or six inch bushing barrels in his guns. Don't know if it's a Schuemann or not, but it has a bushing, not bull barrel.
  13. Get the belts direct from Wilderness Store
  14. Sounds like primer pocket is too loose, time to get some newer brass.
  15. So you want to shoot a G35 for Production. You can modify(polish) all the internal trigger parts, you can't do the trigger mod where they move the pivot point of the trigger shoe to the trigger bar. You can do the $0.25 trigger job and get a competition trigger spring pack and reduce the trigger pull weight. As far as guide rod, you can run stainless or tungsten guide rod and change the spring. Since you reload and Production is all scored minor, you can shoot a lighter load for production 125PF instead of 165 for major. Probably 13~15 pound depending on how you like the gun to recoil. I think you you search, most people use a CR Speed belt, and personal choice of holster (blade-tech, comp-tac, kydex style) and either blade-tech, cr speed, safariland, uncle mikes mag pouches.
  16. Yes, Starting 2008 it will no longer be a provisional division.

    Open Glocks..

Mitch, You going to have it in time for the Oregon Glock Championship at Albany on Sept. 30? Bill I sure hope so. I was hoping to get it before Crazy Croc, that would have been fun!

    Open Glocks..

SJC recommends G17 for Open Glock if you plan on shooting major PF loads. The G34 slide is milled out on the sides around the chamber hood area. As soon as I get mine and get some trigger time, I will post my review.
  20. If they try to turn you away, use the "Do you know who I am?" line. That always works for me.
  21. He also had a 4 second jam on the big stage. There were 4 speed shoots and 2 field courses, he had to do 3 more reloads than me over the course of the match. We also had a 30 yard standard that cost him points. Hard to imagine anyone can shoot much less shoot well while running a whole class through the match like he did. Yeah, he ran the muzzle into the wall on the right and it knocked the slide back, ejected a round, then he racked the slide and ejected another round, shoot the next target, went to slide lock, reload, finished second shoot and got popper. I was there for his class and it was cool to watch him shoot and explain the stages. Not to take anything away from your shooting, you still beat him! How many people can say that?
  22. TJ was shooting major PF .40 loads out of his Para LDA.
  23. The stock extended mag/slide releases are OK (the ones that come on G34/35). You can't use the mag releases that have bigger paddles or oversized buttons.
  24. I think I am gonna go with Florescent Orange Safety vest or a blue Wally-world vest with a name tag on it!
  25. Befor you start to purchase a bunch of equipment, you have to decide what division you want to compete in. With a G17, I would go with production. Having said that, you can't add anything to your mags, so you don't need to buy the mag bumpers. You also can't run a magwell. The 3.5# connector and extended mag release are OK. CR Speed belt is great, but make sure you get a production legal holster (duty holster which doesn't go below the ejection port by 1/4" BladeTech DOH is my recommendation). For your Kimber, you coul shoot Single Stack or L10 division. If you choose to go L10 route, you will need to get 10 round magazines. If you only have 8-rounders, stick with Single Stack. You can't use DOH holsters in SS. The only thing I did to my 1911 is add an extended/oversized mag release. Regarding the recoil springs on a Glock, I have never had a failure running a 13# ISMI recoil spring on my G34/G17s. Good luck, have fun, welcome to IPSC.
