    Tool

Tool is by far one of the best bands to see live.
  2. Just got my Techwell. I have Wilson 47DE mags and I had to modify the front of the base pad just a bit to fit. 10 minutes with a dremmel and all my mags fit and drop nicely.
  3. <Bob Barker voice>That's too much!</Bob Barker Voice> Winchester list 5.6 gr. as max load for 200 LSWC. I load it to 5.0 gr. and make major with OAL of 1.255". I switched to WSF and it make major no problem without being at max load.
  4. Contact the FBI. Seriously. I used to work in the internet industry. Most local law enforcement don't have personnel to deal with such issues, but the FBI does or at least they will do more for you than the ISP that it's coming from.
  5. You could use cerosafe and see what your chamber measures and then make decision how much you need to trim.
  6. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?...mp;#entry579623 The provisional rule said end of grip, now they changed it to front strap. I guess it is going to be any part of front strap since they don't want DOH in SSD.
  7. I know my grammar isn't the bestest. Just found the provision rules *update* and it appears to be the same verbage as the 2008 draft. Is there a final version of the 2008 rules yet?
  8. Don't let the price fool you. When you make your own parts, you can have a great gun and not have to shell out $2000+ for it.
  9. How will the front strap be measured? With most straight drop holsters, the grip is at an angle. So will the front strap be measured close to the trigger strap or at the magwell end?
  10. Well, sent my check in and got my confirmation. I will see everyone there I guess.
  11. So, under current rule book, no DQ, no penalty, just tape target and restart CoF? Under 2008 rules same thing?
  12. True, I didn't ask the MD if that was the case. I was just told that by a RO once while taking a sight picture with loaded gun. So I don't load the gun before sight picture while that RO is RO-ing.
  13. You can take a sight picture once you are given the LAMR command. Wheter or not you want to load firearm is up to you. Some of my local clubs don't allow you to take sight picture with loaded gun.
  14. Since he was index on the target, there was nothning *unsafe* about that shot. He was lucky in that regard. What about the next time it happens? Sure, there isn't a specific rule for ADs after LAMR while taking sight picture, I don't think a DQ is too harsh for unsafe gun handling. As far as deliberatley taking a shot, I would consider that unsportsman-like conduct and that is grounds for DQ also.
  15. 10.4.3 Ashot which occurs while preparing to or while actually loading, reloading or unloading a handgun. This includes any shot fired during the procedures outlined in Rule 8.3.7 (If Clear, Hammer Down, Holster) 10.4.9 covers exception if something broke with the gun resulting in AD. Unsafe gun handling... 10.5.9 Failure to keep the finger outside the trigger guard during loading, reloading, or unloading. If not, DQ.
  16. Too many variables that can mess with the linear regression techniques. The smaller your extreme spread, the more closely it will follow a linear relationship. I know this article is about shotshells, but there is a linear relationship between Peak Pressure and Velocity. Pressure/Time curve is not linear. http://www.claytargettesting.com/study2/Study2.3.pdf
  17. The best is when a Production division shooters fires more than 11 shots without a reload. I reminded one guy that mags are to be loaded to no more than 10 rounds after the buzzer. His response was, "I don't have 10-round magazines". I replied, "Yeah, I noticed". After seeing the match results, sometimes it just doesn't matter.
  18. Too many variables to give definitive answer, but for the most part if you stay within min-max range charge/velocity is "nearly" linear relationship. But, this varies with different bullet/powder/case/primer/OAL/etc. combinations. To figure out the slope (FPS) of the linear equation you take the change in Y (Velocity) divided by the change in X (Charge Weight gr.). Change in FPS = (900-780)/(5.0 - 4.0) = 120 FPS or 12 FPS per 0.1 gr. But like I said, it's almost a linear. Your "real world" testing will probably be higher than simple interpolation. Start low and work it up. Regarding different bullet types, that depends also. Some bullets vary by diameter size and jacket hardness/composition just by different manufacturing processes. Some bullets copper jackets deform more or less affecting pressure/velocity. Barrels vary also, you might not get the same velocity as your buddy with the same pistol/rifle. OAL is another variable that affects your case capacity and pressure curve. Some powders burn "faster" with more unused area in the case others don't. As you start to make cartridge longer you increase case capacity usually making pressure lower for same powder charge, up to a point. As the bullet starts to get closer to the leade/lands then pressure curve will change, quickly sometimes leading to overpressure, so you have to be careful when trying any different changes while reloading.
  19. So, does Bladetech DOH and CR Speed belt and pouches w/ a SS put you in L-10? I wear holster and pouches behind hip bone. I use 8-round mags. But I always get asked if I'm shooting L-10. I figure I would move holster "up" in 08'.
  20. So you're the one buying all the primers. It's OK, I got 10K the other day also from Sportsman's.
  21. If it's more than one distance in a match and you have time, you want the turrets and adjustability. If not, you must know your hold over points. If it's a fixed distance, set it and forget it. It get me every time when my rilfes scopes cost more than the rilfes they are mounted on.

    170mm glock mags

I've shot 9x19 out of 40 mags with arredondo basepads (140mm). It has the tendency to fail to feed when it gets down to the last 2 or 3 rounds. I haven't played around with the mag lips and I was using the 40 follower. I suspect that if you bend the mag lips to 9x19 specs it would stop the rounds from coming up nose-high on the last few rounds.
  23. I have used 25.7 gr of H4895 and get around 2800 feet with 55 gr Sierra BlitzKing bullets with a 16" barrel. I think sierra 5 ed. list 26.1 as max load w/ H4895 in bolt action. I also use VV N540 with good results as well as Varget. I think you would have better luck with Varget as sierra list 27.1 gr as max load (out of 20" barrel) w/ 60 SIE HP bullet. OAL = 2.250" Varget and N540 dont heat up the barrel as much as 4895 does as well. As far as ballistics, the drop is going to be about the same lighter/faster v. heavy(69gr.+)/slow out to 300 yards. the only advantage to heavy bullet is in wind drift by maybey 2"+ at 300 yards. its windy were i shot, so i use the 69 gr. bullets.
  24. I don't worry about picking up brass at a match, but after a practice session I usually pick it up. I then just load it to minor pf for my production gun. Never loaded them back to major pf, just wondering what others experience was. wondering if its worth it to buy new brass and reload it at major or keep buying once-fired brass.
  25. Where are you getting the brass so cheap from? PM or email me please?
