  1. That looks like it will be interesting. Good Luck Phil. Althought being a revo guy I have to kinda pull for Jerry. Any idea what he will be shooting?
  2. I can reload with both hands but I am a touch faster loading with my right hand. It looks like you would have to lift your thumb an extreme amount. I wish the Ed Brown was still available.
  3. anybody tried one? How do you like it?

    Blackhawks

Over the years I have had a truck load of both. For guns that will see hard use I prefer new models. They are just stronger guns. The old models are easier to work and their actions are smoother most of the time BUT like I said the new models are stonger. New models cans be tuned and cleaned up to be as good or better than old models.
  5. I have seen extended slide stocks on Glocks cause problems with folks getting there thumbs under it by accident. Which is probably what happened here. That is the reason on my limited Glock the standard slide stop is cut down to just a tiny nub.
  6. I just worked a deal for a 610. I have been wanting one for a while now to play with. My main guns will still be my 625's but I am interested in playing with a 610.
  7. I have already started begging for a slot from Georgia.
  8. As the thread drifts, Are Caspian and Tanfoglio mags the same? Does this mean the new Caspian mag I have will fit a Tanfoglio? My understanding there are some minor differences, the mag catch slot and the mag was trimmed to fit the shelf that Caspian has to preven over insertment. Alan Can this new mag be tweaked to fit? I mean I have the thing but don't want to drop a couple of grand to build a gun for it but if it can be made to fit a $500 gun we can handle that.

  10. I have used about 3000 wolf lp primers without a problem in my 625. My trigger is set at 7#.
  11. When I got my LWD G24 barrel I fired factory ammo through it and my factory Glock barrel. I measured the cases and there was .009 difference between the LWD and the Glock barrel. The LWD barrel was .009 smaller just in front of the web. I had one jam with it caused by the chamber being tight and a piece of brass that had been fired in a factory Glock barrel. After that I started pre sizing my brass on a single stage press and a shell holder I faced off to make sure I got rid of all of the "Glock bulge". Not another problem. Is this a REAL PITA? Yes but not so much as a jam when the timer is running. I also gauge with the barrel, another PITA but again not so much as a jam whent he timer is running. That is the only problem I have had with mine caused by the chamber being tight, and that was due to the oversize Glock factory chamber.
  12. I really would not worry about it unless you are having a problem with it not running. Mine is VERY tight compared to a Glock chamber and I have not had a problem with it IF IF IF I made sure I sized any brass that had been through a Glock all the way to the base. Yes it is a mild pita to use the barrel as a gauge but not that bad. You saw mine run at NC State, nary a hicup. IF YOU DO recut the chamber get a reamer or have a smith do it with a reamer. You can rent a reamer or I bet a smith wouldn't charge you too much to open it up a bit.
  13. I now have a brand new 40 cal Caspian hi cap mag. The new design with the extended base pad that holds 18. I wish I had a gun to shoot it in because it seems VERY WELL MADE. I primarily shot revolver and when I shoot limited I have a Glock. If I were a serious limited shooter I would be working on building a gun for this mag. I think these mags are readily available now, I won this one in the December "win a book" trivia contest. Now I have to find someon to give it to or I will be tempted to build a gun for it.
  14. I also believe they split open and limited because so many folks shoot both it would kinda of dilute the talent pool in them. If you ran them together so many of the top shooters would have to make a choice. Just my opinion which is worth exactly what you paid for it.
  15. No you are not the only person that thinks this. They have to keep the "premier" divisions seperate so the prima donnas can show off more. JUST KIDDING FOLKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. This makes it a possibility for me. If it had been in June or July there is no way I could do it but the Sept. makes it possible.
  17. Me, too! What's the weather forecast for So. River's match? Oh its going to warm up and we won't have any of that white stuff.
  18. Be careful with the mag release, something that big is real easy to hit when you don't mean to. I have seen more dropped mags because of O/S mag buttons than the law should allow. AND the extended slide release has caused a lot of slides to be locked back inadvertantly as well. On my limited Glock I have a factory extended mag release which is fine but my slide release is a standard one cut down to just a little nub. In USPSA you don't ever have to go to slide lock and it is usually best you don't. There is just enough left on mine that you can drop the slide from slide lock IF I screw up and have to.
  19. I may be wrong and I am not JohnA but wouldn't it still be legal for limited with the special conditions? - Any complete handgun or components with a minimum production of 500 units by a factory and available to the general public. It is a legal caliber. The barrel is the same length as original. I mean how many STI frame Caspian slide 40 S&W's are built buy a factory anywhere. If it is a problem surface grind the markings off the side of the slide and tell them to pound sand.
  20. Not hard to do just need some tiny drills, I have grabbed a whole pack from work but I can't remember what size. A drill press makes it real easy but it can be done with a hand drill. Drill a little from either side and keep switching sides until you get all the way thru.
  21. Those bottom feeders are a passing fad. Revolvers rule.
  22. Still haven't got mine!!!!!!!!

    Moving

I lived there for 5 years some time ago, so I know what a hot mutha it can be. May be I can sweat off a few pounds out there. I haven't missed those summers or the fire ants either. If I get the ball rolling I would like to do a bunch of area matches and would try and be on the road during the hottest times of year. I thought there was a club right in Dublin... PS I do no the dif between a yankee and a goddamned yankee. Ya'll don't like yankees a whole lot down there. I was born south of Atlanta if that helps. EDIT: Found this http://www.mggoa.com/dis.htm Thats looks like a nice club. Oh I don't mind yankees, matter of fact I keep hoping Sherman will show back up and fix Atlanta again.
  24. Yes, which is one reason why USPSA should sponsor (and pay reasonable expenses) for all divisions which are recognized by IPSC, including Revolver. I personally would not choose to travel to Bali with its current political climate towards westerners (and in my opinion, this makes Bali a stupid choice of venue), but I think it's absolutely shameful for USPSA to ignore Revolver Division like that. Tell it brother tell it. Although I would probably go to Bali if I were good enough.
