  1. In our little weekly fun match I used my 4" Smith 19 and cut down Comp III's I did real well with it except for when I forgot to go strong hand only after a reload. But I NAILED the reload and burned it down. 6 procedurals not withstanding. The main thing was that was FUN. Moon clips would have been better but even with the speed loaders I did well. On a field stage with 3 reloads I had a couple that one round seemed to want to hang in the loader and have to be pushed in by hand. I have tossed around the idea of moon clipping it for some time. I have the 4" gun and a 6" gun on the way, I may moon clip both of them.
  2. I don't care for Hornady pistol dies. I like Lee and Redding. I have never tried Dillon but I bet they are great dies, everything else they make is great.
  3. Certainly makes it clear where the problem lies. Yeah, their worthless website.
  4. As for a holster, I love my CR Speed. Adjusting it to go from my 5" 625 to my 6.5" 610 is easy enough but I wish I had a couple so I wouldn't have to adjust it. Cliffs Blade Tech is nice and works well with anything. It is a non catalog item. It is very close to the Safariland which is not a bad holster itself. If I am not mistaken the Xtreme/Speed Sec are the same holster, they will work with anything but a bit harry once unlocked.
  5. The person I spoke to was nice but dang they need to do something to make it easier to order from them. I tried several times to email them but never got a response. I called one number from their useless website, but it directed me to another number. They have 2 addresses listed on their website so which one do you send an order too? I may have sent the order to the wrong address maybe thats why I still have not got my order but how the hell am I to know?
  6. I use a blade tech and love it but I mostly shoot 5 inch guns. When I do shoot my 6.5 610, I just let the bbl hang out the end. If you want one holster for all the guns, I would use a Xtreme speed holster stated previously ( I think the speed sec works the same way). It locks on the trigger guard so the bbl length is irrelevant. +1 on the ranch products for the cheap moon. They are great to deal with. If you want good competition moons, send Dave Hearth a message here on the forum (DHearth). He will send you a sample to try. He is not cheap but for competition, they are the best. If you get a North Mountain Moon Clip Holder, you can use it for your 8 shot super and your 610. It does a good job and you will not need to modify your moon clips. I do not know about the Rimz though, nobody but Vince shoots them and who wants to do anything Vince does. Cliff ps. I think a ghost holster might work too. I have to disagree with you on one thing Cliff. Ranch products makes great moon clips but they are about a pain to deal with. Their website is a waste of bandwidth. If they were easier to deal with they could sell more stuff. I have used the RIMZ with my 610 and I like them ok. As soon a I get the 45 moon clips I ordered from Ranch over 2 weeks ago I MAY order some 610 clips from them. Then again i may just stick with the RIMZ.
  7. Sorry to hear that Nemo. Sadly the club I belong to Griffin Gun Club where they hold the Georgia State Steel Challenge match will probably do the same thing to CAS, Steel Challenge, and the sometime monthly IPSC match. With this club the old geezers never wanted anyone else there anyway but couldn't afford to run the club without us. Now they are old, unhappy, grumpy, bitter, old farts that are probably going to end up losing the club in the end and nobody will have a place to shoot because they can't see their noses in front of their faces
  8. Shooting "postal matches"? Sorry I couldn't help myself. TK custom has moons for this gun as does Brownells. Everyone I hear talking about these guns and Ti cylinders in general have sticking problems because the chambers need polished. A buddy of mine has shot one in a few matches but he is slow with anything so I couldn't tell much difference. He didn't have problems with cases sticking because well his ammo probably didn't make minor.
  9. Well the dremel and air motors are for dressing up the work after you finish on your mill and lathe. I know you al have a mill and lathe at home.
  10. Happy Birthday everybody. Especially my buddy Merlin! I will drink one with you.
  11. The logo is nice but where is the real gun, the revolver? My check went in the mail today. What is the format going to be? Hopefully I can shoot it all on Saturday.
  12. AH HA! You bring up something that I was going to look into so since you brought it up I will ask. I have never tried any 38 Short Colt brass so here we go. What kind of velocity are you guys getting out of short colt brass. I reckon you guys figured out short Colt brass was easier to work with than 38 Super brass. I figured somewhere along the way this has all been tried before. I planned on picking up some short colt and super brass at a show this afternoon.
  13. I have done that myself just sized 38 super brass in 38 dies and shot a few and they worked fine. I like the idea of the thicker super clips as well. I wonder why the LRN's didn't fit. Myabe the case wall is a little thicker.
  14. My favorite load combo. Go shoot the match. No better time to start than right now.
  15. Did you miss your foot? Just kidding, that's an awesome reload! 41mag Yep and I even hit the HUGE steel plate I was shooting. I ain't sure how.
  16. Finally you started shooting a real gun. Really wasn't it more fun that a bottom feeder. Congrats either way.
  17. To make major in USPSA with a revo you have to shoot a 40 cal or larger. The 40 limit is only in L, L-10 & SS. Rev lower limit on caliber is .38 cal. / 9x19 mm. I shot .38 Super Major at the 2006 Nationals in Revolver. I stand corrected. I never really paid any attention to that, I just assumed.
  18. I know folks have talked about converting L frames but I see where TK customs sells moon clips for k-frames. To be honest I have shot a few 38 supers through on of my 19's as is without any problems but not all of them would fit. I did it just to try them. I didn't have enough to really judge anything. And the ones that did were snug going in. Those of you that have had L frames converted to either, what kind of accuracy are you getting? I really don't know what I would do with something like this but it seems like it would be fun to play with.
  19. To make major in USPSA with a revo you have to shoot a 40 cal or larger.
  20. I was concerned about that with the NECO kit myself but they say it works fine.
  21. Weak hand. I probably will never do it again but I did it once.
  22. At the range this morning I nailed a 1.2 second reload today. Once of course but I did it. I looked at the timer 3 times to make sure I was seeing it right.
  23. I hope cross posting is not a problem I ask the same thing in the revovler section. Have any of you tried the NECO or Lyman moly coating kits on cast bullets? I would love to try it on my bullets but would like some feedback before I drop the money to try either.
  24. Have any of you tried either the NECO or Lyman moly coating kits on cast bullets? I am thinking about trying one of them and would like some feed back before I drop the money. I may should have asked this in the reloading section.
