  1. I just sent my application off today! Tell me there are still some slots left! I haven't fired a round since Double Tap and I'm itchin' to get back out and shoot!! Thomas
  2. Man, it sounds like it was a rough day for you guys!! We had rain moving through Dripping Springs and Austin early this morning and the radar showed it all heading east so I knew it was going to rain but I didn't think it was going to be THAT bad! Hope things dry out for ya'll tomorrow! Nice and sunny here now so hopefully the storms will move on out for ya!! Thomas
  3. Found some Wolf large pistol primers at the gun show today. Retail at Powder Valley use to be around 90 bucks per 5k. They had these priced at over 2x that!! I just couldn't bring myself to pay it. If they were small rifle, I probably would've broke down and paid it. I know supply and demand but, it still sucks. On a positive note, Cabelas had more 223 ammo in stock by Fiochi, Black Hills, Remington and I think PMC than I have seen recently. IIRC it was around 20 bucks per 50 for Fiocchi and 25 per 50 for Remington. Seems still a little high. But, maybe if the 223 ammo starts getting stocked back up they'll start letting some of the production go back to SR primers for us reloaders! Wishful thinking maybe....? Thomas
  4. Hodgdon Clays is a good one to use. Soft and clean. N320 is another good one. Thomas
  5. I faxed an order in on I believe Wed. of last week, got a notice of shipping next day, bullets arrived yesterday (Monday). Montana Gold is awesome!! Thomas
  6. I got through a couple of days ago by dialing the non-800 number. Thomas
  7. Big thanks to Firebird Precision! They have some great looking rifles!! Thomas
  8. Thanks guys! I'll ask them if they have anything. Else, I'll try to fab something up myself. Just contemplating buying the 22 conversion kit for my Trubore to conserve on my primer supply for practice! Thomas
  9. Does anyone know if a 22 caliber insert is available for the muzzle platform on the CR Speed holster? Thanks, Thomas
  10. The stages look really fun! I'm going to try to make it to this one! Thanks! Thomas
  11. Does anyone have an idea on when the stages will be posted? Thanks! Thomas
  12. This was a GREAT match! I had an awesome time despite the conditions. As Dave said, I think the Friday guys had it MUCH worse! By the way Dave, congratulations on your win!!! BIG thanks to Robert and all the RO's for enduring the full spectrum of weather conditions! Already looking forward to next year! Thomas
  13. Very sorry to hear this. Condolences to the family. Thomas
  14. Hmm...so, perhaps staying OFF of I35 to go to DT this coming weekend is the way to go? Thomas
  15. I'm using dummy rounds....no primer or powder. I keep them in a totally separate, marked, bag from any other ammo. I keep the bag in the room where I do my dry fire so I reduce the chances of getting live ammo mixed in with dummies...or vice versa! Thomas
  16. Sorry to hear about your back issues Doug! I hope you get to feeling better!! Thomas

3.15.09 Got out for some live fire practice today. I just changed all my mag springs out and needed to make sure everything was still running right. Also needed to do some chrono work before Double Tap. I wanted to make sure I had a little extra margin so I bumped the charge up to 10.3gr of N105. Everything worked fine! I worked on some draws, reloads, and target transitions. I broke my best time on El Prez from last weekend at 5.69 down 2 with a 1.48 reload! This coming week I plan to work on shooting on the move in both dry and live fire practice. Thomas
  18. I've had the same experience as Dave Sinko. No issues at all with S&B 45 brass. They definitely feel tighter when seating but no major issues. Again, this is with 45. I haven't loaded 9mm on my 650 yet. But, in general, I've still got an eye on a 1050 for my next press! Thomas
  19. Kevin, How are the small pistol primers working for you in that load? I'm down to my last 5k of Fed small rifle primers and was thinking about trying the SP's since SR's are nowhere to be found! Thomas

3.7.09 and 3.8.09 What an awesome weekend! 400 rounds of live fire! Shot the ALSPPC match on 3.7.09. Awesome stages and great folks! Had a win on one of the stages! For today (3.8.09) I headed out for some live fire practice and shot my best time and score ever on El Prez. 5.78 seconds down 3 points with a 1.57 reload time! After that I worked on some speed transition drills similar to Drill #44 from Perfect Practice. Only difference is I only used 2 steel plates instead of 3. I need to build a few more target stands as I only have 5 right now. Thomas

3.3.09 and 3.4.09 Yesterday and today I continued to work on draws and 2-reload-2 to work on reload times. Yesterday was not a good night. Attitude and entire mood was crappy and it reflected in my consistency. Tonight was much better. I slowed down the par time on 2-reload-2 and am doing better seeing the sights in the A zone both before and after the reload. Still needs work though to smooth things out. I also spent some time working on turning draws on a single target at 10 yards. Thomas
  22. Congratulations!! Thomas
