Two different single sided safeties, what's the diff?

I see two different single side safeties in the Stoeger Pro Shop.  They have the same picture, but one of them says 14.1.  I have no idea what that means.  The product descriptions are typical vaguery, totally unhelpful.  What say you?

I have turned my safety on many times by accident, and although it has gotten very rare, it really ruined a classifier recently that was an easy slam dunk for an 80-90% run.  It's about time to get rid of the ambi safety on my guns.

Don't know the difference in those.  I've been running my Lim Pro with the right side safety off the gun and the little post protruding.  I haven't bought a single side and don't want to deal with the tiny roll pin everytime I want to break down the gun and polish more.. At some point I might just gring down the post and call it good enough.

Instead of grinding down the left safety, can you just remove it? Or install a single right sided safety?  I did see that thread about the flat left safety from Eric. New to this platform and have not been successful finding an answer.  Coming from a G34, my left hand really takes a beating from the left safety.

Do you have smaller hands or shorter fingers?

A personal favorite about the Tanfo line is the way I can't help but park my thumb on top of the safety and hold it down while I shoot the gun. It's literally designed for my thumbs personally.

At some point I want to put wide Lim Pro safeties on my Stock 3, which came with the regular width Ambi. Maybe someone will trade. ;)

I wear a size medium glove.  I put a set of EGW grips on the Lim Pro and the DA trigger reach is doable but I wouldn't want it any further out.. The Lim Pro safety is like a huge ledge sitting there for my thumb.  I shoot my 1911s with the same grip.

Only the left sided safety comes with the leg that holds the sear cage in place. There is no right sided single side safety.

Links are for picture references for the OP

EAA / Tanfoglio Witness Extended Single Side Safety- http://patriotdefense.com/product/eaa-tanfoglio-witness-standard-single-side-safety/

EAA / Tanfoglio Witness Single Side Safety (14.1)- http://patriotdefense.com/product/eaa-tanfoglio-witness-single-side-safety-14-1/

Basically the extended single side safety is equivalent to what comes on your Stock II or Stock III...... just single sided.

I don't think anyone has really addressed OP's question yet. On the benstoegerproshop website, there's 2 entries for seemingly the same part. Even lists the dimensions. Same width. Neither is extended. Both are single sided. I think it is just a mistake they made when putting it on the site.

Looking closer, there are some slight differences I can see with with grooves and an extra notch.

Large hands, long fingers.  I do not use my thumb to ride any safety on any gun.  It just stays over it with no pressure.

Several, perhaps many, times I have activated the thumb safety during an aggressive draw or reload, and the last two occurences have delayed my Production M card by yet another month or two.  So irritating.  My forefinger knuckle is what does it, pushing against the right side safety lever.

Anyone know if the single sides safety will work for a lefty? Or do they all go on left side of the gun?

Does anyone know if this safety would be flush with a stock 2 frame on the other side?
