  1. I think Brad nailed this one.
  2. I think your best bet on the over insertion problem is going to be to buy some aftermarket base pads that prevent you from over inserting the magazine. My understanding is that the Walther has this same over insertion problem. The design of the Walther and Canik are very very similar.
  3. Yes, the ones I use are for a Glock 17 that I purchased from Wolff.
  4. Not sure that any of the ones I have are what you are looking for, but please see below. Both of these have the new locking block and barrel design, but you can still over insert the magazine. T6472-23 CS 006XX T6472-23 CS 011XX This one has the old locking block and barrel design. You can over insert the magazine in this one as well. T6472-22 CS 003XX
  5. Again. 100% on the money. Throw a comp on there, send a little bit of money over TTI’s way for the collab, and a fancy coin in the case to go with it and watch your revenue double. This is the marketing department earning their keep.
  6. Respect. Just the fact that y’all are not immediately shutting this thread down says something in my opinion.
  7. I think that is wise. My guess is they are going to make a gen 2 Rival-S or they will just continue making changes without letting anyone know until they fix the current issues.
  8. Don, great hearing from you! I have not had a bit of trouble out of the polymer rivals that I shot. I believe these issues are exclusively regarding the rival–S. I would guess that I have somewhere in the neighborhood of 15,000 rounds on my polymer rival that I kept. I have had no issue with it to date.
  9. Thank you sir! https://www.instagram.com/reel/C2FGOMjO5IR/?igsh=MXRzNWxzNGE0em5haQ== You know you are shooting well when your squad starts talking crap to you on your last stage… They even made me flip the spinner even though it was only 2 shots on top and 2 shots on bottom for pistol. I was happy to oblige!
  10. https://www.instagram.com/reel/C2DcvE1uB2V/?igsh=dTN1MzkxbXhmdzBz First match of the year with the Rival-S. It ran flawlessly.
  11. Sorry man. That is crazy they sent it back to you and it was still doing the exact same thing you sent it in for. I noticed you made the video 5 months ago. Did they replace it? Just curious what the outcome was.
  12. It does appear the changes have been made to the chrome version as well.
  13. Excellent call out from both of you. I had not noticed this at first. I was able to recreate the over insertion issue with both barrel and locking block designs. I did some research and it appears there may even be a 3rd design where the newest of the new has a wider channel cut that runs in line with the firing pin safety (picture below). There is a channel cut in both the gun with the original locking block and barrel design and there is a channel cut with the new barrel and locking block design. But according to the thread below, the newest have an even wider channel cut. @Bob1230 did the design you were sent with the wider channel cut fix the over insertion issue? Who knows what else we will find they changed with this new design as time goes by.
  14. Spent some more time with it and got the trigger working the way I want it to. I am going to run it this year and see how I like it. I am able to perform certain drills better with it simply because it is heavier.
  15. Spoke with Canik today after receiving this email. They say there is nothing they can do because they do not recommend swapping the slides from frame to frame. He was unable to tell me how to identify by the serial number which guns had the change or not. He was also unable to tell me why the change was made in the first place. Overall a very disappointing experience and no further along than I was a month ago to solving this problem.
  16. Finally got an email back from Canik after around a month of waiting. Initial response from them is very disappointing.
  17. I am definitely a fan of Canik firearms for sure. SFx, Rival, and now the Rival-S are all fantastic guns. I am still planning to shoot this season with the Rival-S. Hopefully this new design fixes whatever problem the gen 1 was having. I do feel they have some things they can improve on though. They should have let their customers know about the design change and customers shouldn’t be having to wait months on end for replacement parts. This is not the direction they should be going in order to grow their market share. Up to this point, I have never had a problem with Canik or their products. Hopefully they do the right thing and are more transparent moving forward. If they take months to correct the problem, like how they have been with getting Thomas’ issue resolved, I am not going to be pleased.
  18. Completely agree! My guess is it has something to do with how the GEN 1 barrels were breaking. I’ve pulled this image off Andreas‘s Instagram page. It appears this broke off of where the barrel interfaces with the locking block. Instead of addressing it, or putting out some sort of recall, it looks like a Canik just updated the design. This is complete speculation on my part though. I will be interested to see what their response is when they email me back.
  19. Really appreciate that! I sent Canik another email today following up as I have not received anything back as far as a resolution yet. In the email, I also asked them the reason for the design change and how to tell by the serial number which gun has which design. I will be sure to forward their response along when I hear back as I am sure others would find that info useful.
  20. Sorry, Thomas. I have about about the same 1/8in of play in mine as well. I agree that over time it could damage the gun, degrade accuracy, or potentially even cause a safety concern as this new barrel was clearly not designed to work with the old locking block. I will have to say when I called and let Century Arms know what was going on, the guy I talked to either didn’t have any idea of the design change or acted like he didn’t. They really may not have known the new barrel was going to cause an issue when they sent it. I reached out to them Monday of last week with all this info and am still waiting on some resolution. I believe your solution is correct. If they send you a new locking block assembly, this will fix the issue you are having. No matter how I combine these guns with different parts and pieces, the only thing that I see causing the problem is pairing the old locking block design with the new barrel design or vice versa. Lastly for anyone out there waiting on a barrel from Canik, I would first confirm which locking block design you have. If it is the new locking block design, then you are going to be fine because they will send you the new barrel design. If you happen to have one of the old locking block designs like me and Thomas, you need to get on the phone or email Century Arms to let them know they are going to need to send you a new locking block assembly along with the barrel.
  21. Yes. The guide rod doesn’t make a difference either way as far as I can tell. Difference is how the barrel interfaces with the locking block.
