I bought Ready Tacticals for my M&P setup and am quite happy with them. To contrast that my Open and Limited rigs are both Guga Ribas which are about the farthest thing from conventional you'll see. You can put a LOT of Ready Tactical pouches close together on your belt and not feel cramped and the price is a lot lower than going with something like the CR Speeds which are nice, but sort of bulky and expensive in comparison. They are great quality but I think if someone could come up with a good double pouch that had belt loops that are secure like the CompTac's but self tensioning like the Ready Tactical's appear to be. I mean the pouch part itself. Some of the Glock mags I have seem to vary in width... so keeping the CompTac in adjustment (with screws/rubber gromets) for all the mags isn't doable. Aircooled6racer Posted September 17, 2009 Share Posted September 17, 2009 Hello: I like the Safariland 771's that fit a STI mag. I use them for Glock 17 mags and my STI/SVI mags. I use a tension knob on the top tension screw and can adjust them just fine for the different mags/weather. I found I would lose mags out of the CR Speeds for some reason and I tried them with 3 different sets with Glock mags. I really wanted them to work. The Comp-Tac doubles are little too wide for me since I have a 34" waist and like to carry 5 mag holders. The Blade -Tech doubles take less room but are a little pricey. I just like the single mag holders and really like the Safariland clamping system. A good belt helps alot, I use the CR Speed. I like the CR Speeds. they keep the mags spaced just right for my hand to get one but still making it easy for me to get to the last mag on my belt. I started shooting production coming from IDPA so I just used my old gear. I also have the CR pouches and belt for my G35 in Limited- I had no idea I could use that gear! I just can't use the inside CR belt right?? Just checked the rules... I can't find where it says I can't use the inside belt... not sure why or how I thought that. I was fine with what I have but sometimes the mags get stuck in my CompTacs and I know it costs me time- the CRs are smooth and I like the slots for the index finger. Besides I shoot an M&P and I read alot of posts where guys were going to ACE Hardware and buying washers and spacers etc to make them fit right. Too much money to have to jury rig a pouch. They fit close together and have an internal plastic "spring" that secures mags of different widths quite well. If I have a complaint, it's that the belt clip tends to slip a bit on competition belts so you need to add some velcro patches to the clips. The Ready Tacticals are a bit more expensive but look like they are better designed for competition and were high on my list when I thought I had lost my rig. For an adjustable, you might want to look at the SpeedSec or the Safariland. The latter has a higher list price but you can find them on the net on sale for about the same as the SpeedSec and the RT's. Another interesting choice is the Ghost, which can be mounted standard or turned 90° out which would allow for really close placement. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

They can be adjusted for cant, are angled out away from the body, and have a "speed cut" on the front of the pouch for better indexing of your finger on the mag.
