Is there a rule about no sights?

No rule but a general guideline. Sort of like don't put your fork in a electric socket. It hurts to do and watch.

No way. A fork in a socket is freakin' hilarious to watch!

At last year's Eddy Brown Memorial Metal Match Pat Kelley tore (literally) the sights off his Glock with a pair of pliers at lunch because he was shooting poorly. He then went on to win the match.

I know at least one other guy that shoots without sights routinely.

Year before last at the open nationals there was a guy on the squad behind us with an open gun with no scope. He had taken the dot and the mount completely off.

I watched him shoot several stages. He seemed to do ok...

I guess he just learned to see what he needed to see.

Maybe it was a "zen compatable" open gun.

Must have sights in production.

Authorized modifications

(Strictly limited to these

items and their stated

guidelines)

•Sights – trimmed, adjusted, replaced, colored, or

fiber-optic.

No sights is not an option.

Front sight comes off the gun in the middle of a stage......

Move to open?

Man I hope this no sight thing catches on real good.

It's already caught on with many...whether they have sights on their gun or not.

You'd think we all would be able to hit 66 square inches of A-zone on just about any shot we typically see in a match.

Thanks. I done a couple of practices without the front or rear sights. I'm going to leave them off for a match and see how I do under pressure. The next match at MRPC I might run with out them.

WHY?

I started off to see how good my naturel point of aim was. I did a lot better than i ever dreamed of. Plus i can say i shot a match without sights.
