Merlin Orr
So I have this nice little Commander 2011 in 9mm. Good little gun but needs a little refinish work. I am in the shop and take a punch and start taking the sights off of it.. Benny is taking a minute and having a green tea and checking his e mail. Tap tap tap...what ya doing? I'm going to refinish this in a bake on epoxy. Tired of this color. Tap tap tap... There is someone looking over my shoulder.... tap tap... there is someone taking the punch from my hand..... Taptaptaptap... pull push whack push pins shake and all of a sudden MY gun is a pile of parts...and Benny is headed for the _)@(*#* milling machine! Hey... WTF are you doing with MY gun (keyword being MY)..? Well shit. He can't hear me over the whine of the damned milling machine... I can't see..whats going on..? OK.. there was NOT a panel cut there..what makes you think I did not like the way those cocking serrations looked ..just a second ago? I thought the slide was cut and fit OK... Why the re cut ramp and the new link and the trigger job and the..... Well.... It ends up that the gun I WAS ready to trade is so much nicer now that I can't stand to part with it! It sure is trying on a man when his best friend is a firearms transmutation demigod....... Edited May 1, 2008 by Merlin Orr

HSMITH
LOL, I can't stand to see things that aren't right either. I just HAVE to fix it. You are lucky as hell to have a pal take care of your gun like that!!
EZ Bagger
Good thing he had you tied to the stool or you'd have had to try to stop him.

AikiDale
Man, that is just aweful! Tell you what, I have a Colt Lightweight Commander that could use a little work. I'll be happy to let you play with it.... if you can do it sometime when Benny is around....
SiG Lady
"...a firearms transmutation demigod..." Kinda makes me want to buy a new gun just so I can send it to him. No, wait---I can send him my stock Springer (Commander sized, even)...!! Hmm... and it was supposed to be my 'carry' gun. Well, nothing wrong with having an awesome/outstanding 'carry' gun, is there....?
Merlin Orr
I've said it here before. It's just really hard to do anything to a gun while you are around Benny. It's like voodoo or something. It just magically appears in his hand...for the duration! I've sure got it tough...... I hope to get it refinished tomorrow. I'll put a pic up then.... It is the nicest gun I have ever owned.

Larry White
Did I read that wrong, Benny looked over your shoulder? Under your arm maybe. Or were you sittin on the ammo can? I loaned Benny a pistol for a match one time, pretty plain sv 5 in. round top. When I got it back it was a flat top with panel cuts, new serrations, nicer front sight and reblued. He can be handy.----------Larry
AikiDale
OK, 16 posts and no hits yet...I'll give you $150 for it. That is just outrageous. Offering Merlin $150 for a gun. You should be ashamed. $200.

SiG Lady
Merl-- Do send/post photos! I'm about ready for some new gun porn anyway. I have a stock Springfield GI Champion that I'd like to leave slightly "stealth" and "dark" looking if you would, but there're doubtless a few little thingys he could do to it that would both enhance its stealthiness AND its porn value. Oh, and I did have a modest trigger job done to it, so it FEELS a good deal better than the original. But that's all I've put into it at this point. Yes, let's see YOUR Commander. bigbrowndog
I agree with Larry, what were you sitting on the freakin' floor, cuz Benny ain't looking over your shoulder if you're standing or sitting on a stool. my Benelli carrier wound up getting shaved, when I took it in for a spring to be replaced. If you could just get him to reload for you then you'd have something. Trapr
