Like a lot of people, I have a job. I work, they pay me.

I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as they see

fit. In order to get that paycheck, I am required to pass a random urine

test, which I have no problem with.

What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to

people who don't have to pass a urine test. Shouldn't one have to pass a

urine test to get a welfare check, because I have to pass one to earn it

for them?

Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on

their feet. I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helping

someone sit on their butt.

Could you imagine how much money the state would save if people had

to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check.

Benny has a random drug testing policy :o

<_< ...I think it may be like a Bar I used to go to south of Houston in the 70s <_< on the weekends ...At the door the big guy would ask you if you had a knife or gun, If not they had loaners.

And the urine test was if you could keep it off the cars and trucks in the parking lot.

Damn good point, Merlin. When does it start :surprise:

I have always been of the opinion that if you are going to spend my money (ie welfare) you should have to pass the same drug test I do. Sure would like to see it happen.

God, I'm putting that on the bumper of my car!!! One of the biggest pains in THIS community is the City of Eugene Planning Department... and wrenching your building permit from their cold, stupid hands. Sometimes takes a full year. Not kidding. It's insane.

Bzzzzzzzt.

Shitty idea.

Why so fast to abridge American's 4th Amendment rights??

Second, correct me if I'm wrong, but under the "Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reform Act" (aka the "Welfare Reform Act", passed under President Clinton):

Person convicted of drug-related felony: States must permanently deny all Title IV-A cash assistance and food stamp benefits to individuals convicted of felony drug possession, use, or distribution.

Third, who -- besides some of y'all -- want the federal government to grow and spend more money on drug testing programs and bureaucracy? Or farm the drug testing out to private companies in bed with some congressman? Either way, it would cost us more $$.

Finally, who give's much of a f*ck about welfare spending? I mean, when talking about wasteful government spending, where to start??
