    I think they're just misunderstood.

  3. I really don't think it's at all ugly. Then again, I think Glocks are pretty. I'm with the other guys, it'll be interesting to see in a year what the end users are saying about it. I'm also waiting for GunTests to pick it apart. Also I expect some refinements to be made to it, and perhaps if there is a problem with all cylinders they'll simply replace them via recall. I never get too worked up over accuracy out of a snubby unless it's truly horrible. They're guns made for last resort, holy crap it's hitting the fan. And here in Md, if you involved in a shooting, you'd better be bleeding first.
  4. I use PaintShop Pro v.8. It came with my first Dell, and it does everything I know how to do, plus a lot of stuff I'll never use. Just in case you're wanting a cheaper way to experiment with editing... it cost $85 or so. I would offer to burn a copy of the install CD, but that would be illegal and unethical.
  5. Siggy, I avoid small children at all costs, always. Germs have little to do with it, though.
  6. Just because something is edible, doesn't mean you should put it in your mouth.
  7. The bad thing is, eventually we are going to have a true epidemic of something that is highly contagious and fairly fatal. But, with the constant over-hype and over exposure of every stinking thing that comes down the pike, many people (just like me) will ignore it. (just like I've ignored every other scare-mongering tactic in my life, be it flu, disease, political or whatever)

  9. 2 of my favorites: Tin Pan Alley and The Sky is Crying. Just starting to work on getting my fingers around Sky.
  10. Way to show complete and utter disregard for your QB projects, Vikings. Used to like Favre, before the first of many tearful goodbyes.
  11. SigLady, congrats! Pharoah, creepy avatar.

    funny sayings

2 signs at the truck repair place down the road... "We try to please one person each day. Today is not your day. Tomorrow ain't looking too good either." "Shop rates: $45/hour. $60/hour if you watch. $75/hour if you help"
  13. Great post. I also remember one that (paraphrasing) says "whatever you are doing, do only that thing, and do it as good as you possibly can. Do not think about the next thing you are going to do, until it is time to do it". Sounds easy, but oh so hard to do.
  14. I'd rather get took for $10 than turn my back on someone who really needs help. You done good, imo.
  15. Brian, you can also change the facebook settings so you don't get notified by email of anything. I did it that way because I'm not swift enough to filter my email.
  16. Don't let your age keep you from changing careers. If you are doing something you like, it's not work. And we're all liable to end up working till we're 70'ish, so you better like it.
  17. On a completely unrelated note : MarkM, every time I see your avatar I chuckle.
  18. SA Friday, every time I see a picture of combat troops over there, I'm struck by 2 things: first, the amount of clothing you all wear even though it's so stinking hot, and secondly, the fact that wars have always been waged on and over that God forsaken piece of hell. Thanks for all you do.
  19. When some poor soul is so at a loss that they actually ask my opinion, I ask them if they wanna know what I think, or want me to make them feel better.
  20. Unfortunately, a lot of good posts in this thread. "And thusly we have become a nation of LANDFILLS--and we SHOULD care, dammit." - Siggy. Yep. I don't consider myself a "greenie", but it seems ridiculous that we can't come up with a better solution than to bury our trash, thereby making the land unsuitable for either housing or food production. "The tip of the iceberg. People/employees/human beings... are looked at in the same manner. " -Merlin. Except I fear the iceberg is here.
  21. If I won (which is unlikely since I don't play lol) the first thing I'd do is figure out how to retain my anonymity. 2nd would be set up a trust to filter some back into local charities. I'd probably still work; just take way cool vacations!
  22. Take the lump sum. There are no guarantees in life.
