"they're Mating Honey, Honest..."

:D

TWO new additions to my bags of fun this past two weeks- no, really- they must be mating in the safe!

While picking up a 642 at the local shop, I saw an older model 10 tucked away in a dark corner of the case- hiding from prying eyes. WELL- I just couldn't let her sit there- she had to come home today  . The bluing is pretty worn, but the rifling is in great shape and the sction is smooth- I took her as far down as I could- no excessive wear inside. Looks like an old duty gun- lot of carry, not much shooting.

I think, just maybe, I may suffer from revolver addiction. There's now more revolvers than semiautos in the safe now. YIKES!

Does anyone else have this problem?

My name is Greg, and I'm an addict.....

Unless your wife is a shooter or you are independently wealthy, never, never, never, let your wife look in your gun safe.

My wife's comment: "Do you shoot all those guns?"

You will have to come up with your own lie to tell your wife but I told mine that they all have a different purpose. I don't think she bought it. :(:o:lol:

I'll even keep my Reloading Area Clean to keep the wife from seeing the stacks of supplies. Even though I keep the Powder/Primers/Bullets/Cases stored, she doesn't really need to know, ya' know.

And I only show her the guns I want, or that she is interested in. Never open the Safe!

My wife isn't into guns at all. I have a good mix of autos and revolovers, both stainless and blued. As long as I buy something like that (and the bills get paid on time), a new gun goes unnoticed. I told her about the AR, though.

My last purchase was a CZ-75B Tactical, with an OD frame. This might get dicey....

"When did you get all of those guns? I don't remember seeing them...."

"Oh, you remember that one gun that was in there that I really didn't shoot? Well, I traded that for those 2..."

"What about those 3...."

"That one a guy in the club was desperate for cash and I gave him only $100 for it, that's why I didn't go away a couple of weekends ago...it was my traveling money...and the other 2 I got in a trade for a bunch of other stuff, including an expensive scope I wasn't going to use anytime soon..."

"Oh, ok, thats cool..."

"(whew...that was a close one...)"

Congrats Bud, I am lucky as my wife is used to hearing "Oh, that one?? It belongs to Mooney I am fixing it" or That's Gramps' gun. he needed some work"

You guys don't realize how many revolvers you have :) She stopped asking a long time ago.

What's really scary is that I'm single and I've had some of these conversations with myself. <_< Should I be worried?

YES! Go see your nearest Match Director and sign up for something! Hurry before you start thinking you can actually do without some of those fine specimens! :o

Your affliction probably is due more to Winter Blues from not keeping up on your fix of lead and gunsmoke. I start getting cranky after only a couple of weeks. Then it progresses to a lethargic look on life, it's at rock bottom when I can't get interested enough to send off for a big match in May. It's close to suicidal when I start eyeing the gun safe.

Don't worry Dave I'm not pondering getting rid of anything. In fact I'm already up two revolvers since the first of the year. But I did have to justify each of them to myself, somehow. But, after some tense negotiations with the other voices in my head I was able to close the deal. :D

I think I am going to sneak away tomorrow afternoon to test out the newly aquired hardware as it is going to be in the mid 30's. Woohoo!

I must just be a real arrogant b@stard, as I have never felt the need to explain my purchases, I work long hours for my money, I will buy want I dam well want. :P

I am with 8 Shooter.....I am suprised to see so many pussy whipped "men" out there. Have any of you ever asked your wives if they wear all those shoes. Pick yourselves up off your knees and tell your wife you are going to the gunshop......" Don't wait up" :P

Think about it....you are buying guns.....you shouldn't have to be afraid.....

Cowboy up.... :o

This should end this thread....If you want to explain yourselves, find a knitting forum.

I bought my open gun used,,,,,well hardly,,,,not even broken in really.

Wife saw it and said "Is that a new gun?"

I did the honorable thing and told the truth,,,,"No, hon', it's not new at all, it is years old."

Didn't lie,,,,the gun had been a safe queen.

Said $hit a stone cold brick if she knew how much it cost,,,,,but fortunately some other poker schmucks at the local casinos got stuck with that bill.

+1 on that 8shooter.

I think it important that the wife/family knows what you have and what your firearms are worth.

I look at my collection as an investment and yes this gives me justification to buy more :D

enjoy..

My g/f wanted to buy me a gun for my birthday last year.

Her: 'I'd like to get you a new gun but I just can't afford it. They're like $1200 aren't they?' (Brazos open guns ;) )

Me: 'Uh. Wow, Bunny. I don't need another gun right now but that was nice of you to ask.'
