With the USPSA Nationals just a few weeks later, I think you can get as many or more than any other this year. IT would be GREAT to see 20+ at it, the key is to keep it in everyones ear and in front of their face. It seems that there is more interest in Revolver shooting than it has since I've been playing this game (6 years now) and even better is that it seems that interest in the USPSA Nationals is higher too. As a Division it is hard to get 20 at one match unless it is mutually agreed upon by many all over the US to go to that match......But Slots are so much less trouble/less hassel to get when you win them vs. trying to get them off the wait list. With that said, I will not rule this match out but have to see how my stupid hand is doing before making the trip. Good luck with it, I hope you get 30! I shot the Western PA Sectional there last year and it was an excellent match. I shot it in Production but the stages were not revolver unfriendly. I always watch for things like that. He let me win a stage so I wouldn't give up shooting revolver...THANKS Sam. Sam said he hasn't shot his round gun in a long time...made me realize how good he really is as I watched him tear up the course after the long lay-off. I foolishly thought I was keeping pace with him but he separated the men from the boys on the last three stages we shot (Stages 9, 1, and 2). Congratulations Sam! I have not seen you talking about him much, all I have heard is about the 3 amigos. (my guess is D. Carden, Mike Carmoney, and Cliff Walsh are the 3 amigos)? The first is the original goodwill emissary of the revolver, my buddy Sam Keen (aka Hopalong, aka Hilljack #1). The second is my son Sam Carmoney. Sam Keen is the shooter who won Area 8. You are correct on the "3 Amigos." I have no idea about the casino thing, other than I know Sam Keen has stated he is shooting Limited at the big show, so that may explain why Vegas isn't watching him this year! With my curiosity up I went looking at this Sam guy (results) He has shot 3 major matches with his revolver this year. 27 total stages and has won 16 of them........pretty impressive the 3 major matches are A-8, Mississippi Classic, Kentucky open. Area -8 he won 6 of the 9 and was second on the other 3 Mississippi he won 5 of the 8 and was second on the other 3 Kentucky he was 2nd overall with 97% and was 4 seconds into a stage and stopped, must of had problems of some sort. he still won 5 stages and would have won the match had he not had problems......but that is the way it goes. He also shot A-6 and the Space City Challenge but with a limited gun (which he is classified as a master with) and was 17th out of 67 at the Space City and 9th out of 56 at the A-6. So, with statistics like that. my guess is that he is one to watch with any type gun in his hand and if he's shooting a revolver he is really one to watch. in other words.....He's good. And you say he's shooting Limited at the Nationals? will have to keep track of him to see how well he does in the most talented division we have. So where has he been? and why doesn't he shoot wheelgun more often if he is what you say he is? He went to 10 major matches and shot a revolver, you say he shoots others but I did not look in other divisions or other type(3-gun). He shot the: Arkansas match....and won it. 10 stages, and won 7 Area-4.................and won it. 14 stages, and won 9 Area-5.................came in 3rd. 11 stages, and won 2 Area-6.................came in 3rd. 12 stages, and won 2.......Jerry M was there too. Florida Open.........came in 4th. 10 stages, and won 2 Mississippi.............and won it. 9 stages, and won all 9 !!!! (wow) Nationals..............came in 6th. 18 stages, and won 2.......At Nationals Ohio....................came in 3rd. 9 stages, and won 2 Tennessee............and won it. 10 stages, and won 7 So he attended 10 major matches, won 4 and the lowest he ever was was 6th and that was at Nationals where he zeroed a stage.....looks like he finished it but had major pentalty points. Adding up the stages, he shot 102 stages at major matches and won 41 of them, pretty impressive if you ask me. I hope one day I can just win a stage at a local match, with any gun. I guess this guy would be one to watch then. Thanks for the information, looks like he made a bunch of matches in 2005. I wonder what he does for a living? I myself would be broke. IPSC/USPSA is slowly awakening to the Revolver Division as more and more shooters take up the wheelgun. We're still a pretty small group comparatively, but the growth trend is truly encouraging. And nobody's done more to promote the growth in Revo than Sam Keen. Sam's an excellent revolver shooter, extremely smooth, very fast on the reload, and really good at breaking down stages. When we shot together at the Florida Open early last year, when I was still first getting started at this IPSC/USPSA stuff, Sam took the time to help me figure out how to run through difficult high-round-count stages without falling on my face too badly.
